I would've bet money that this was going to be Killer Instinct 3, but then MS decided that all we really wanted to see was Kinect games.

I guess that leaves Smash as the front-runner?

Tecmo just said on their Facebook wall that they are teasing something for later today.

Apparently Tekken Hybrid was announced, featuring the new 3D Bluray movie and bundled Tekken Tag Tournament HD. Given that this is regarding a Europe release, might this not be the likely candidate for the rumour.

Tekken Tag HD remix style? That'd be very welcome but I can't think it's what they were referring to. Whatever it is it really ought to have been announced by now. Maybe Smash Bros since that was announced for the new system.

I'll definetly be getting that Tekken film though. PS2 HD TTT would look very nice and I'd really like to feel the old Tekken style movement again.

It is possible that by "return" they meant "sequel". It could be SC5 for all we know. They didn't say it was a franchise that has been gone for any length of time.

Plus, to classify VF as a "huge" fighting game franchise... well I just don't buy that outside of Japan.

Hopefully TTTHD comes online equipped... Either way, I'm pretty sure comp will be all over the place for local sessions...

I would assume that KOFXIII coming to consoles in October would be the big news, especially seeing as how so many people watched matches, and some got the chance to play it. Plus, there's talk of cabinets to show up at EVO, so there's a chance for cats to level up right before console release...

DOA isn't as popular as Team Ninja makes itself out to be-- at least to make news of a "return" something major. I personally believe that if they didn't release DOA2U-DOA4 on Microsoft consoles, it wouldn't have done as well as it did... Even still, Team Ninja making a comeback with this game wouldn't be so hot, especially given the fact that they don't listen to the fanbase. They even say in interviews that they feel nothing needs to be changed; and I thought it was only Itagaki that was overly cocky...

SC5 is big, but they're already got "2 strikes" it seems...

    Smash??? Iunno...

It's still possible. Namco owns the rights I believe, and there's still fans of the game trying to speak out to get the game developed and released...

What I read from the link was that Konami bought the rights to the parent company Hudson soft and that fans of Bloody Roar had a petition and wrote to them ever since, having Konami to forward it.

Do you have some information on Namco owning rights to Bloody Roar series? That seems odd...

FYI: I didn't see vf there [IMG].

Also, I did an interview today and I was introduced as a "World Renowned Virtua Fighter Pro" - And while my honest to god goal is to live up to that, I did not tell him to say that. I beg for your forgiveness in advance!"

Perhaps some other time in this year. I'm trying to be patient to see what kinds of other fighting games can be revived, because I can't seem to enjoy what is available for this generation of consoles.

I don't want to revisit the Tekken and Street Fighter series, but due to the unsatisfactory of games available, I might consider it unfortuantely. However, fighting games that are unfamiliar in learning with someone is still preferred.

The Virtua Fighter 5 and Mirrors Edge games on my ps3 system just won't last long for me, which are the only games that I have.

This is probably what they were talking about:

Bandai Namco announced Tekken Hybrid exclusively for PS3, the compilation will include the CG movie Tekken: Blood Vengeance and Tekken Tag Tournament HD, a HD remake of the PS2 game.

    Namco really loves their fans!!
