Sorry the guy just trolls in every thread I see him posting. I try to be nice all the time, but if idiots like him can get away being idiots, I'll just go on and be straight up rude as well.

Wtf "people who dont want to pay for patches are just tight on wallet" it has nothing to do with that, it's the principle behind it that's stupid.

yes Feck, I know that part of the cost with the server also goes for the maintenance of the actual game, but they don't do it out of charity. It costs THEM not us. They aren't always developing patches and bug fixes, the less patches they need to release, the more profit they make. But at the same time, stay stagnant and you won't last in the market. Most patches in MMOs aren't simple rebalances, they have actual content with them. Simple rebalances/bug fix patches are a waste of bandwidth and resources for them. And if they don't release said bug fixes, the game will remain flawed and people will leave.

In a console game it's just not reasonable to ask you to pay for a patch, because you already paid for the game (and the price on the game more than covers the development costs after a certain number of sales), and the fee would cover... what? They can't ask a fee for server costs because the server isn't theirs. The fact they fucked up their own development? Yeah that sounds pretty reasonable! If there's something broken in the game people will grow uninterested and move on to other games that work well straight off the package. They can't compete if they fuck up their own game AND ask you to pay to fix it.

You obviously don't know what Project Management is about.

Oh nice, people still playing the troll card against me...

^ That's the post you flamed me for.

I agreed with Cuz, asked a simple question then stated I wouldn't mind paying monthly fees for console VF. That's hardly trolling is it... I guess you had to justify calling me an idiot somehow though.

I'm not even going to respond to the rest of what you wrote, baiting me for my opinion then claiming i'm a troll is a nice tactic and everything but i'm leaving it here.

    EDIT: Oh wait...

    Was it this wallet comment...

    ?

Sorry for having a different opinion man, I value my money a lot but i'd pay for this stuff. Ok you got me, I have a different opinion... I'm a troll damn.

Virtua Fighter 4: Final Tuned and Virtua Fighter 5R are the biggest games that haven't been available on consoles outside of Japan.

VF4FT was purchased by some arcade operators and some individuals for private use outside of Japan. VF5R cannot be purchased outside of Japan and is only allowed to be leased to Japanese arcade operators.

gonna go on a slight tangent here, though i think it's something that needs to be said.

in all honesty, i think it would be in the best interest of AM2 to do to VF what ArcSys did to GG; leave it alone for awhile. try something new. perhaps a more streamlined, accessible, dare i say, casual fighting game.

think about it. AM2 could have a fresh start with a new series designed to appeal to both new players and VF vets alike. make a game with a story mode (believe it or not, this fucking sells), dumb, flashy characters and a ridiculous soundtrack. something that can share the same relationship with VF that blazblue does with GG. and something that will, most importantly, not end in a number as high as 5 or 6.

will it be as deep, complex or balanced as VF? probably not. and i don't hear any arguments for blazblue being more deep, complex or balanced than GG. but what blazblue has done is bring new people to the work of ArcSys, and both blazblue and GG are better off for it. in my uneducated and invalid opinion, that's what AM2 needs to do to regain their superiority in japan and hopefully rise to relevance in the west.

this of course, shouldn't happen until they port R to consoles, but i think it's the direction they need to go in; hold off on VF6 and go make some other fighter in the meantime.

Arc had no choice to leave GG alone. If I'm not mistaken, they don't own that franchise anymore.

Admittance is the first step to overcoming your problems.

Sonic the Fighters 2? Providing it is developed by AM2 and the new "Sonic Team" is not allowed to touch it, that idea has potential. It could be like the Sega version of Smash Bros. And considering how well Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games sold, it could actually be a proffitable franchise for Sega.
