SEGA Replies to the Console Petition

They're not going to announce anything about a possible console release until the arcade is out. They don't want to spook arcade folks.

 

It would't make sense for them to have a console announcement when the arcade version isn't even out.

 

I think it might be a good idea to post this to all the sites that ran articles about the petition. Did we keep a list of the sites that helped us out? I seem to remember a thread about it but can't find it.

 

Yay they know we exist now! And it only took a 500 page international petition to make it happen.

 

Just like it wouldn't make sense to release SSFIV on consoles before an arcade version was out? God knows that that really crippled SFIV in Japanese arcades. I don't know if Capcom will ever recover.

SSFIV was announced for consoles and nearly released on consoles before an arcade version was even announced. But you don't want Sega to announce a console release until the arcade version is out in Japan? Stop apologizing for Sega and AM2. They make the dumbest decisions with VF year after year.

If Sega knew what they were doing we'd be playing VF5R on our PS3s and 360s right now and waiting for the already announced ports of 5FS.

 

so sounds like...they havent start making a console vers yet. DAMN.

 

They haven't even finished making the arcade version.

 

Well, somehow I think that we made just the right impression. Sega now knows about so many people that want to play VF that I am very sure that they will deliver.

Of course, they are not allowed to say. Right now the game stands as an arcade title only. It will come out and still no news about console, them 3 months later, we will get the BIG NEWS!!

Man L_A better be right or somewhat accurate.

 

It's great to hear a reply from Sega about the petition. It's sounds like a typical PR response sure, but it's nice that they acknowledged their fans asking for a console release.

I think that's definitely the case. I doubt any game company would announce a new title for consoles in a PR letter to their fans or even hint at it. I would think that Capcom, Namco or Square-Enix would all say the same vague reply about the possibility of releasing a game. I think any announcement will be at E3 or TGS (if they're smart .)

I do too. It's Sega that scares the shit out of me.

 

i know what SEGA will do now, they will ONLY release arcade cabinets in some countries of Asia, Europe and America.
so.... Forget about console release " due to the various conditions surrounding the home console market ".

 

Hmmm. No promises, but at least they are aware that we want the game on consoles.
