A friend of mine (GuttiYuki) on VFDC; can do Evade 4 throw escapes not every time but quite regularly in the challenge mode.
He have done the challenge mode with all the characters, it’s unbelievably difficult to pull it off.

I don’t know how many times that I have tried, but I haven’t even pulled of 4 throw escapes one single time.
I just don’t think that I’m quick enough to ever pull that shit off.

Still haven't tried out the throw escape challenge yet.Actually after hearing of the amount of experienced players here who have trouble with it I doubt theres much point but I have done the recovery from a stagger 5 times in a row series of challenges so I'm happy for now! /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'm not sure how practical it is to use EQTE during a match. Because the timing is so strict, there's a high risk of making an accidental throw attempt after the last input (same thing applies to evade-triple-throw-escape-guard, but to a lesser degree). I might try it if I know I'm about to be thrown and I'm desperate, but that's it. There's also the issue of accuracy: EQTE has to be done at lightning speed, so there's a chance you'll make a mistake trying to escape the most important throws.

The throw escape challenges are good excercises though. It took me about an hour to finish the quadruple throw escape challenge my first time. /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif After a while, I had an easier time performing the evading-triple-throw-escape-guard (which IMO is a more important technique to learn). /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif Those last few challenges are my favorite. The best part is, after you complete them you can change the settings to infinite time and practice as much as you want!

Thats one of the best additions to the training mode in evo imo, the fact taht once you've passed a trial/session etc that you can modify the settings so that you can focus on anything you really struggle with.Stil bloody hard work though, most of those advanced challenges /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If I have got this right the 4x throw escape can only be used in specific situations in the game.
So it’s not that you can do 4x throw escapes instead of for example ETTEG.
Which means that you have to know what situations were 4x throw escape is useful.
I’m not 100% sure about this, but someone told me that this was the case.
Does anybody else have some information about this? or else I will check my source one more time for confirmation.

About the recovery from stagger challenge, remember that you always have to struggle your stick in this [4][7][8][9][6]direction.
If you in the end struggle with a [1][2][3] you will end up getting hit either way because you are in a crouching position.
    Oh and don't forget hitting [K][P][G] . /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The way I struggle ( and I past all the sessions ) is to hold [G] to avoid any whiffing off moves and shake the stick whilst pressing [P] and [K] alternately.Works like a charm. And besides I probably fluked some fuzzy guarding at the same time on some of them .I think I was generally going from side to side.Problem with the throw escapes is that it try and do them too fast and don't get the directions in properly.I had a quick go before against Jeffrey and was just spazing up and getting [6][P]+[G] and [2][P]+ [G]or something . Myke suggested doing a fast half circle and thats what I was trying.I can see how it works I'd just need A LOT of practice to get it done . /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My brother was able to pull off those excerises fairly easy, but only after he learned how to dance with Lei Fei. That one dance where he stomps the ground. He did the exercise with my character in one try after he was making fun of me that I was having trouble with it and I threw the joystick at him.

Maybe learning Lei Fei's dance would help out everyone on their TE's and E-QTE and whatever else since you got to be fast and precise with the dance too. And for the record, I'm not good with any of this. I can Triple Throw Escape fairly good, and that's probably it. I haven't practiced the other ones.

I dunno, I use the PS2 controller and everything comes out smoothly. Never had problems with knee after tft. However, I agree that Akira's knee can be a pain in the ass and is more stick friendly, no doubt about that.

You actually tried to do a DLC with the DC controller /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif OUCH !!

I prefer the pad, as it maintains my long lineage of losing. Actually, though, the direction in which I throw the controller is NOT determined by the pad.

If you're precise enough to do multiple throw escapes on a pad consistently then you can probably toss a playing card through a watermelon also. I'd love to have the dexterity to perform MTEs, but I usually only manage to get a couple, if I'm lucky, in a match.

Well a couple is good, you're suppose to focus on your opponents most dangerous throws. You don't have to do 3 all the time, eliminating 2 options should be good enough. But if you can do three consistently then that's a major + for your defensive game.

Practice man, trust me it's not the pad.

I'd like to point out a few facts.. according to the challenge mode in VF4 evo, here are the rules doing TE's.

If you get a throw counterable move blocked, you have the following options.

    1) Do two throw escapes and guard.
    2) Do up to 4 throw escapes. ( If the opponent does not throw, you will always do a whiffed throw animation if you do more than 2 throw escapes. This means that if your opponent jabs, it will be a MC hit. )

So being able to do more than 2 throw escapes doesn't always help.
