SF4 Impressions (after actually playing)

    Well that depends on the combo, some combos require the focus attack to connect, then you can immediately dash and continue the combo.

    ^ Correct. Gen for example, it must hit off of his Crane c.lk to be able to dash into super/ultra. It really varies for situations/characters.

    Varies for characters its what i wanted them to change really. I just wished that all characters had more flexibility off of a F.A.connect since you're using 2 stocks for it.

    I think you are still confused what we are saying about focus attacks SDS.

    If you land a lvl 2/3 focus attack you can input a dash to cancel your recovery time to lead for a better combo than standard recovery from the successful FA. It is not the same as canceling a move by using a focus attack which uses 2 stocks.

    I've Tried it plenty of times and i still could'nt get it to cancel into an attack Trust me Shag. for instance i do a Direction change in a focus cancel attack Connect then dash into a CR Fierce but the Cr.Fierce would not connect after the F.A. connects but when i cancel the F.A. i can land the Cr.Fierce.

    And as stated before its situational between characters. Many moves can't connect on a crumpled opponent.

    What character are you trying to connect a cr. fierce on after a crumpled opponent?

    B.Feck Enough of it. KrsJin just said it is situational and i now know this.I just was stating the obvious that in whateva new version they bring out i hope its not character specific. Thats it say no more it done.

    I was talking about non charge in particular Shag on a cancel. On a full charge im landing the Cr. Fierce move.

    The system is such that you simply can't follow up a lvl 1 focus attack. It has to be lvl 2 or greater. This is what people are trying to tell you, so it's pointless trying to follow up a lvl 1 with anything then complain that it doesn't work /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    Not complaining just voicing a opinion. Its something i said i wish they could've did. Just Forget it.

    Tony,

    Tiger Knee will go over fireballs and hit the opponent when timed correctly from the right distance. I actually do it a lot but its usually not intentional. I just have that.. intuition sometimes.. haha.

    I think SDS was talking about Abel. He has a combo where you can FA cancel for two bars of super but you cant land anything if you dont cancel the canned attack of the focus cancel. The stun is too short. Im trying to use Abel but mine sucks compared to SDS's day one Abel. This game is hard, for me at least...

    Right. I did all of his challenges but i notice that some of the combos are basicaly flash. It would be cool if a EX F.A. was a automatic lvl 2 to ensure longer combos since you can't finish with a super.

    SDS, you can FADC the first hit of the change of direction, go in for an elbow and juggle into Ultra...

    He's talking about using the actual FA hit though. Not cancelling the FA. Like, lvl1 FA dash up and do something. You can really only mixup with it though. The only combo I've seen thus far is Chun's one challenge combo. In the corner.. Jump in RH > fierce > EX kikoken > lvl2 FA > dash up whatever. But yeah, inside combos, landing a lvl1 FA doesn't do much.

    SDS, I think with Abel, after a low HP, I have been trying to remember to 2 in 1 the second hit into an EX Wheel Kick. The last part is 4 hits, but it seems to do almost as much damage as his super (especially if you land it off a jump in).

    I noticed when you were beating me up the other day, that you use his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gifMK /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gifcancel really well! That's a deadly normal cause you can chain into HP after the dash. I'm not using that kick well enough at all. What situations were you using it on me so well? Was that off my wake-up?

    Hope you are liking the game a little more...

    Please don't take any of my older posts personally, I have a lot of respect for your game.

    I'm wondering whether all of the activity with SFIV will motivate
    other publishers to put out more fighting games. Does anyone think that SFIV has that much clout?

    If the sales of SFIV are good will that motivate a DOA 5 or
    VF 5R for consoles /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

    Since where on the same page Joho can you imaging the possibilities of land a special cancel FA hit into a longer combo? it would just be a little more fun. I mean you already spending 2 stocks just to cancel why not allow a bigger combo since the damage scaling is good (Except Sagat Jumping Hk,Cr Mk tiger uppercut.) .




    check the Damage in the training section. His ex moves are not that much stronger which is weird but the armor gives it a edge. I just realized a F.MK dash -> cr HP lands but his damage level is too weak for a Judo character. His Ex wheel kick is cool because it crushes armor and is safe but the Anti air throw is a better option after a Cr.HP because of the position it keep you near your opponent.

    As far as the wake up /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gifMK goes i just kinda keep my distance and only use it if you did'nt have a ultra on wake up. His /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gifWP,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gifMP are chainable so i try to keep you guessing between a Marsailles roll,Change of Direction or another /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gifMK. sometimes i might do a focus attack in case a person try to interupt. He's almost like Goro Daimon without the Minelayer move or the Counter catch supers lol!

    I like the Game Gern but it just could've been better. Send me a friend invite because i Removed you by accident trying to invite you.

    The more and more I play, the more and more I love Cammy. Her air throw is 100% where its at. You can even throw Ken, Ryu, Akuma, out of their hurrican kicks and my god it just feels so good.
