SF4 Impressions (after actually playing)

This Fucking Game Sucks and i should've bootlegged it.
If it was called EX4 i would've felt better.

Focsu attacks? Should've just put the fucking parry back in the game because if you keep doing the combo anyway its a free CH.

I come to grips now that we are living in the "Safe Era" of gaming. Tournaments and so called high level of Gameplayer Fucked society up as a whole and i did'nt want to believe. Sorry if im not a Poker player when it comes to Capcom games but this is ridiculous. I find myself stuck in in this loop lately involving these back to basics games.
Im not a Expert but a damn good player and no way in hell should i find myself on the recieving of random hits because of my agressive attack patterns in a 2-D game. No way in Hell should i lose more energy on a Cr. Roundhouse then when i delivered a 3 piece to my opponent.After what a friend was doing to me with Zangief i felt embarassed and he's Fucking WEAK!!!!


Did i mention the Tech throw Window is about as small as a rats nostril? I really should've bootlegged this game.

Dude; aside from being my fav character, I'd totally put a wax job on that.

It's funny how she looks emaciated in her design artwork yet her nips are below zero in the game.

 

Got the game today with the help of an extra 20% trade credit towards sf4. I like some of the aspects so far. I played some arcade and played some people online. I must say.. the producer had an interview where he stated that this game could be played by beginners and experts. Something to the effect of like chess. So I hope to play it more and enjoy it. I am still used to running up to someone and throwing them. hahahah vf style. But that doesn't work here. hahah

 

arcade mode has some major inconsistency issues. 1st play through i finished hardest difficulty with ryu then decided that 2nd play through id try a new character (abel) on medium. i got to ken and he had a pre programmed counter for every move i did. if i roll he would hurricane kick leaving me away from attack range. i try and close the distance with abels /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif move. ken counters with a dragon punch etc.

the only way you could win was if you managed to focus attack/counter every attack!

i enjoyed playing the game online however.

 

I think you can adjust this in your settings for XBL play.

The biggest thing I'm dreading is the main menu music, i can already hear it now... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif the HD Remix one was good but even after ahwile that gets annoying.

 

I really haven't spent much time on the menu.

Straight to player vs player for several hundred matches.

 

SDS, I think this game is really good and really fun! It's challenging but I expect nothing less... If I picked SFIV up and was automatically a master, just because I'd played SF before, it'd be a shitty game with no depth.

I'm not sure why you hate it so much??? I'm really confused actually. This game feels very different than past Street Fighters and has a different pace. Yes, Zangief is strong but there has to be way around his shit.

I've only had the game for 2 days and am not in a position to say too much about it yet. At first I was taken aback at how different it was but it grew on me VERY quickly. It's super-technical, almost scientific. It's a lot more about predicting now than reacting, due to the vastly different pace of the match. Maybe that's what you don't like... This IS NOT Super Turbo at all. It's like night and day.

Instead of obsessing over an aspect of the system like "safe attacks" or anything else is a waste of your energy; just get better. There's sooo much to this game, 2 days is nothing. If you want to play, set your preconceived notions aside and dive into it head first. It's fucking fun!

I did a ton of challenge mode before trying to play and it helped a lot. The training and challenge modes are so good in this game, they absolutely cannot be missed.
