SF4 post your mains before the tiers!

I was going to use Fei as my main, but can't seem to get a good flow with him on SFIV. For some odd reason, I'm playing with Balrog and Bison alot. I'm really digging Balrog's overhead charge punch and the link combos you could do after it connects. Bison has a great poke game and his combos into scissors kicks do great damage.

El fuerte was going to be my sub, but homeboy is to annoying. So I'm going with C.Viper. Homegirl is to much fun. She has a super jump, nuff said.

I was going to main Viper, but Ive grown on Fuerte, as hard as he is to play (and annoying) i think there's alot of fun to be had learning him.

kind of like shun in a way, the opponent doesn't know what your doing jut as much as you dont /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

although I'm enjoying Guile & Cammy, and Abel is interesting aswell.

 

Well, actually this is a hot topic in french community but I doubt they will be allowed here in tournaments (and not because of their strenght - that's not the point).

So I was thinking that in USA there were also the same kind of old school people that prefers to play with Arcade only cast of characters, but it's cool if it's not the case: you'll have more diversity in tourneys /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

 

if you're banning characters for reasons other than overpoweredness then I think that's just plain dumb IMHO. I don't use that term lightly either I really mean that.

 

I don't especially support this rule, man. So don't waste your time to explain me that not using the whole cast is dumb since I 100% agree with this. But you have to follow the rules if you want to take part in tourneys. That's why I said it was cool for you if they let you use the entire cast /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

 

I think you misread. It's about without a balance issues.

There's none, as in most traditions. Traditions arnt' relative to logic or reason most of the time.
And there is this tradition, in France, where, for some dark reason, ppl tend to play with Arcade only cast of characters. Since I'm not a 2d player I can't explain you why did they want to play like that, but I know in 3d for example that they banned all console characters in Soul Caliber (for SC2 Necrid, Heihachi, Link etc..) so actually they're arguing about which cast to choose for SF4 tourneys: arcade only cast (- new chars - bosses), all console cast without bosses or all cast + bosses.

 

SC made sense though as they were console specific characters that were banned.

That's exactly why I on average dislike tradition.

Anyway, most of the dudes arguing about this come from 3.3 where you saw only Ken, Yun & Chun past semi finals so whatever... Guess they want a game with 3-4 chars /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

I get so sick of all the akuma players online, honestly Ive had the game two days and 75 percent if not more of the people I run into online play as akuma. BORING.
