Why did you even bother Panda?

I was expecting the movement to feel more fluid, but it's pretty stiff. I feel like i'm moving tanks around the stage. I'm going to chalk it up to getting used to tekken movements again.

I think you can Walk off Vf into Tekken and not the other way around. Vf and D.O.A. are probably the only games that i have to own to stay sharp. Tekken on the other hand i don't have to own. there nothing strategically that applies here really. almost everything is Safe along with the pushback on guard. everything end with Mid or low so you will get hit somewhere in between on a string. the only thing about Tekken one must really know is the damaging juggles and how to use box stepping to advantages. Being that this game went multi-platform it feels slower and even more user friendly. I'd play but mostly offline cause i can imagine the bullshit that happens online. I just hope VF5R saves us since its going on 2 years now that version been out.

Made it to 2nd Dan yesterday. TBH Tekken 6 has a very deep fighting system. I feel I got my money's worth. All the modes, customizations, cut scenes, the new scenario mode, I think adds value to the game at least 4 noobs and casual players. Tekken 6 needs to be compared with other games in the Tekken series. IMHO if you compare it to Tekken 1-5 you will in general realize that its an improvement and generally will give a Tekken Enthusiast more of what they've come to like about Tekken. The movelists are deep. The graphics are gorgeous, the online (well its a work in progress) I lagged less than 50% of the time. [IMG]

After playing it for almost 9 hours straight and running up against some jolly good Tekken players. [IMG] I realize you just can't move from VF to Tekken (maybe years ago, b4 the movelists were so deep) But now both of these franchises have very deep fighting systems (each in their own way) If you're talking about mastering either one of them, you will have to choose (unless you don't have school, job, a woman, or a life) [IMG]

Its not practical to belong to more than one Dojo. All of U who take martial arts know that. If you're just playing VF casually then you can just jump in a play Tekken casually or master Tekken, only if you play VF casually. I think for most mortals, attempting to master VF and Tekken is a difficult proposition. it would be like trying to seriously be part of two dojos at the same time (Sensei not having that !@#$)

After really giving Tekken an objective look again, I realize its far too deep for me to ever b a top tier Tekken player, because my loyalties belong to VF and there are only so many hours in a day)

And make no mistake about it,Tekken 6 has a very deep fighting system and we should show the game respect.

I played two Tekken masters who had serious game.It was obvious they had years of battle hardened tournament competition.

I also got served by this girl playing with Roger the Kangeroo, and some dude playing with Alisa the robot who's arms would fall off and grow back, The robot would give me her head and it would explode and take down my health. The robot could fly, and do these horizontal mid air circular tracking attacks that you could not get away from. And they've added bigger and better fireballs to Tekken 6, [IMG] there are so many sparks and flying squigglies until sometimes it was hard to see whether I'm being attacked high, low, mid, long distance or W.T.F?

Should we move to flying headless robots, mama and son boxing kangeroos, wrestlin grizzly bears, hovering samurai, Fireballs,
sparks, 10 hit combos, kung fu pandas, Karate Masters who can float because they have giant condor wings, fighters whose arms sometimes double for machine guns, Bob the ninja fast fat man who appears to be 400 plus pounds that can beat chu to death with his stomach, Raven who can disappear and then re-appear with the advantage safely on his side.

It might be a little freaky to go out with a chick that can take her head off and put it in your lap and leave it there until one or both of you explode, but yo, you don't really want take that freaky stuff home.

Casual Vfers might be able to be serious about Tekken 6 or play
Tekken 6 casually.

But, Tekken 6 has a sufficiently deep fighting system and requires so much work to be top tier, that no truly hard
core VFer could afford to take Tekken 6 seriously.

The boss battle in VF pits your fighter against Dural, sure Dural is a little strange but not too far out there.

But the Boss in Tekken 6. W.T.F? Yo, whats up wit that?
I don't even know what that boss is? I finally beat it with the flying robot girl who could take her head off but that shit required some imagination.

Tekken 6 is fun, deep fighting system, all the extra modes, cut scenes, background story, gives you the bang for your buck. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys fighting games.

But leave VF for Tekken? Don't make me laugh cuz...

As I've said b4, Tekken, Soul Caliber, DOA, those are all entry level drugs for VF. VF is the real deal, the best fighting system on the planet. Even though VF came out a few years ago on next gen, it still has superior graphics, gameplay, and balance when compared to Tekken 6 and a VF master is required to know more in VF than a Tekken master is required to know in Tekken.

For real VFers Tekken 6 is a very nice place to visit, but chu won't want to live there. Too many animals, flying
robots, gravimetric anomalies, and atmospheric disturbances to worry about.

Tennis is also very simple. Nothing to it. Just whack the ball across and make sure it bounces once within the marked yard space thing.

Nothing to it. Pete Sampras is just an overhyped, overpaid, and overestimated hairy dude.

And I don't even need to play Tennis to know this. It's obvious just by watching it.

Honestly. What a crap game. Now Golf, yeah, Golf. THAT is what I'm talking about. Selecting the right clubs, knowing the wind direction, etc. Not to mention the actual technique at swinging that club.

Golf = real man's game.

Nah man, Bowling is the real deal. Things just don't get more complicated and manlier then playing bowling. Only sport you can play while eating a cheese burger at the same time! imagine the variables to that man.

It could depend on the character you're using. Some think the BR Paul feels slower and heavier when compared to DR Paul, for instance. In general though, the game feels more fluid than past Tekkens. Attacking from some stances is definitely faster than before I've noticed.

Dude - I use bowling balls to play croquet... with sledge hammers!

WICKET!

Edit: Shit. People actually do this. I fucking thought of it in 1982. Too bad I was thirteen.

Actually you fools... bowling is quite deep. The pros bowl on sport bowling patterns that'll make you look dumb. What you and I play on at our local alleys is called a "house shot". Which is dead easy to score high on.

So wrap your head around that [IMG]

Wait a minute just think for a second
should we play VF or should we play tekken
Surely both can be played with a stick
needing reflexes that are quite quick

Of certainty Tekken requires more skill
there are Pandas and Kangeroos to kill
Nay but in VF they face a Cyborg of Chrome
Her skillz are plural, she is called Dural
and yee dare not face her alone.

Ah hah! But Tekken has the flying robot girl
who can part with her head yet still twirl
VF's Ninja of course can jump high,
But it is clear, he cannot fly

Yes, But VF has the Sabaki, Inashi, and triple throw escape too
fuzzy guard, back dash, and reverse nitaku
plainly Tekken lacks those features
they are not to be found among the movelists of their creatures

If it is of features You speak Tekken has the best of all
dare we mention the lighting, the sparks, and the fireball
VF is clearly moot on this obvious thing
all they have is the dull and boring ring

When you get right down to counting the frame
Beneath the Pandas, and Flying robots are VF and Tekken not the same?
Tis your youth that guards you from ridicule or blame
For alas, Tekken is fun, but VF is a real man's game [IMG]

Played some matches with Akira Zero. The connect was good and I had a lot of fun. I'm really liking this game. It's flashy and cool. Not as realistic, but it's supposed to be.

If you play on a bad connection though, it's one of the most mash friendly games in the universe.

Good connection = mad fun!

Bad connection = some frustration

Overall, I have no regrets about the getting the game, it's dope.

I still want VF5R dammit. The best looking, smoothly animated fighter I have ever seen. It's like watching a choreographed fight scene but even more exciting. The massive damage makes every fighter look beastly too. It's sorta paradoxal: the most technical fighter ever is also the most pure fighter mechanically. No gimmicks, just good shit.

In Tekken6BR, a game I have actually played, they did the opposite: they scaled back the damage and made the health bars longer while making the tedious juggles last even longer thanks to the bound to wallsplat gameplay. Fights last so long now it's really boring to watch a match. And the rubber-band mechanic that is rage will never be a good addition, ever. How about actually fixing the combo system instead of these band-aid solutions? I don't want to be forced into Tekken cause the 3d fighter landscape is so barren right now.

Sega, don't do what Namco did with their lame extras, just give us the goods: VF5R with the already great netcode, robust options in practice mode, an in-depth tutorial mode for newcomers and a retooled quest mode that gives players new gear by completing SF4-style challenges which help you learn the game. It's really not rocket science, JUST DO IT ALREADY!
