I know the question of moving to Tekken was rhetorical on Brisal73's part. But any real VF player that even tried it, would feel dirty in the morning

IMHO VF is the best fighting game on the planet

 

I agree that Virtua Fighter is the best. However, Tekken 6 is here and VF5R is not.

I've always been a fan of both series, VF more than Tekken, but Sega really needs to do SOMETHING!

 

We should move to Japan.

It depends on why you play, but the short answer is yes.

 

Whats sad is I did'nt like 4 but 5 went back to the roots and i fell in love with it. Unlike VF im not the only person around my way to know how to play that game. All my friend in my immediate circle knew how to Tekken but VF on the other hand......I ain't trying to ruffle nothing but VF5 fun factor is great but Tekken is right behind it and it looks like they improved on a lot. trust you me the 27th i will have Tekken and VF will have to fall back.

 

Everyone should get 1 copy of Tekken and let SEGA realize this big lesson!!

 

I won't move to tekken completely, I was never a big fan of tekken. I will gladly fool around with it in the same way I play SF or SC when I don't feel like playing VF for awhile. VF still rules as far as I am concerned and it continue to be the main game I play online regardless.

yeah i had 1&2 and 3 on bleemcast emu.

 

I am a fan of fighting games period and Tekken would'nt be at 6 if it was good. In fact if a new DOA came out i'd by that too. VF is going no where fast unless R drops and sega better make a move fast..

 

I also thought about giving Tekken a chance...
Of course I wont move away from VF, but the last tekken I played was Tekken 1, thats why I could give Tekken a chance again...
A big andvantage for Tekken would be that I know much people around here who play it, so big Offline sessions will be the norm

On the other hand, every good Tekken player I´ve ever known(Not to much, but enough to get me to this opinion) thought that he´s the big shit with a "Dude, Im good at Tekken!TEKKEN!" attitide, which is kind of annoying...

 

It's ok cuz I'm the best at Tekken ever.

 

99% of players with that attitude are the ones that feel they mastered it because they know the 10-strings.

Anyone with even a minute amount of actual knowledge (e.g. knows 10 strings are a Namco joke), would never claim he was good, unless he was actually any good.

It's really just a seasonal thing.

T6 is this generation's T3. Just play it, enjoy the comp, have a few drinks after. Sega will come back with a new VF eventually (the new "VF4" if you may), and if it's any good and appeals to the current market, people will give it a shot.

Here's the thing that a lot of VF fans may not be seeing:

SF4 "woke up" the dormant FG market.

T6 is the one that's going to "set up" the current market for good, technical play. I'm sure there are a lot of people who are bored of playing all the endless supplies of FPS and Guitar games, and are looking for something more intense. T6 fits the bill.

Once this whole "oh it's too technical" low-IQ state of the market is weakened, it will be ripe for a VF revival.

So no, VF isn't "losing" anyone to Tekken. The FG scene, as a whole, is just finally coming back to life. And all us old fogeys should be happy it is.
