Should we move to Tekken?

Save for probably Law and Lili, those are the least-beginner friendly characters. And even Law and Lili require you to know the frames of the other characters in order to beat them.

If you're just going to go online for the lulz, pick Kazuya, then do his spinny kicks (uf+4444...). They're absolutely useless offline (unless off a wall splat), but online, with the lag killing low block, they work perfectly.

    BRUCE IS THE TRUTH!!!

Jeneric, one thing you forgot to mention is that Bruce's OKI game has seriously improved. He can catch rollers for a lot more damage as well.

For those who have not seen the Korean tier list, here is a picture. Bruce is definitely top tier in this game for all the aforementioned reasons that Jeneric mentioned.

If anyone reads Korean, would anyone mind translating the headings at the top of the columns?

    Just picked up my copy...

Too bad I have night class after work today though [IMG]

Has the online stabilized at all or is it still "Tekken Lag Tournament"???

Bad connection also happens in Asian area, and a lot of players complain no matter which console version they have.

I remember the producer promised before and claimed there will be no lag issue when TK6 comes out..... Maybe they need to release the patch ASAP~

    ----------------------------------------------------------
I check the interview again, the producer said even there is a lag issue in TK6, players can still actually play becuase the screen won't pause like in TK5.. [IMG]

It's still Tekken 6: Microsoft Powerpoint Edition, which is unfortunate because the game is great.

I think most fighting games do that. Soul Calibur IV did it. Street Fighter IV did it. Tekken 6 probably will too.

I find it refreshing to read that from someone who plays VF at your level.

Blazblue's been holding on to me. Helps that I found some guys offline who play it as well.

I got Tekken 6. Comparing it to Virtua Fighter. It is pretty stiff. It feels like Dead or Alive but defensively instead of being a Offensive game. I think I rather play Dragonball Z Ranging Blast than Tekken. [IMG] Even though that is a fan base game. Cool thing about Tekken is the customizations of what I notice so far.

It mostly drop down to the likeness of Soul Calibur. You remember how stiff soul calibur movement is.
If you remember how soul calibur is and remember how you get whoop by those cheap tatics. Tekken is the same thing :)
Tekken is all about juggles. You can't run away. It doesn't give you a veriety of options you can do if your opponent attacks you. Unlike Virtua Fighter. People play funny when it comes to tekken. If I fake run, They will attack and I'm not even close to them. They just remember the combo's and attack and get closer and closer. Then you can't block all the combo's because you don't know where its going to hit, high or low. And you can't run away either, so your screwed because he knows the combo and you don't
Thats tekken for ya. Thats some "F" up S#!t

This game is really good offline, but I can definitely anticipate some annoying online stuff as I get back into it.

Bruce is really good in this. I'll probably main him and Heihachi as usual until VF6 or something comes out.

The game is pretty awesome. So much to learn as far as characters, moves, strings and combos. I wonder how long it'll take to memorize King's multi parts - he has so damn many now. On the other hand-- is it worth learning them with online being as bad as it actually is. I almost can't fathom how they coulda blown it that bad. Laughable, for real. Could be a great game all around but I have no one to play...

Actually, being a King player I highly advise you to learn his [6],N,[2][3]+2+3/1+4. Those are his most reliable ones, mainly beacause of possible damage per number of throws but also beacause you can easily mix them with [6],N,[2][3]+4/1+2, since those are both mids. You can also finish this with [9]+4 for another, slightly delayed juggle starter. Since you'll probably be in crouching, watch out for any quick mid launchers, but be aware, that since you are crouching, you can easily do FC[3]+1 for a slow but completely safe low move or a FC[3]+2 for a mid attack that stuns on NH, and allows for quite powerful juggles [IMG]

Remember that, although you should not spam it or rely too much on it, the sidestep into 2+4 results in a throw attempt, starting with a multipart, depending on the side it caught the opponent. Those are also good to be learned as it never hurts to have your opponent guess the escape (1 or 2) [IMG]
the SS+2+4 can be also canceled by holding [4], so if your opponent crouches, continue with a quick mid, or a juggle starter (preferably [9]+4).

You could learn them, but I find the 3+4,1+4/2+3 and following multiparts useless.

You just need to practice more.

IF you want to practice though. That's up to you. But if you were thinking you could walk off VF and walk right into Tekken and kick ass? Sorry. Never gonna happen.

90% of the time, you have to "switch off" one in order to play well in the other. They're both very different.
