it's pretty easy to balance a game when every character plays exactly the same.

except c. viper; she's pretty sexy with her arcsys mixups. too bad all american vipers lose to sagat.

Check out those few matches - it's a... um... "food match" between two top U.S. players apparently. Starts as Viper mirror and then one of them switches to Sagat, nice bouts.

Viper is awesome fun (these days playing only her), but her inputs on a pad make my fingers cry... Definitely not an easy choice for mostly armchair warriors like me.

Every win with her feels sweeeeet though

There are a few other preview events going on aswell, one in Manchester and one in London.
I think the one in London is a day before I have to be back in Southampton so I'm not sure If I'll be able to make it.

 

I'm new to Fuerte, been playing him for a week now. I thought he was annoying... I was wrong, it's SO MUCH FUN to use him I just can't express it

He's really hard for me to beat with Abel. He's so fast and can run and jump all over the place. Once I'm in his okizeme mix-up I feel like crying... :'[


By the way: those Viper players are RIDICULOUS! They would just beat my ass so hard cause I suck against C. Viper too.

 

You really feel that way quash? I think they're different enough. There's a lot of nuances to every character even if SOME of them are fairly similar.

I know you are a Blazblue guy though. Blazblue, the characters are from different planets they're so different.

name a character in sf4 that doesn't hold downback and throw fireballs/hold a charge/fish for random counter hits and trades to land ultras.

the only character that has incentive to press forward in sf4 is viper, because she has shit that's hard to block.

don't get me wrong, game is mad fun in small doses; but if you ask me, the only reason this game is big is the fact that it's called street fighter.

and as of yesterday, i am an ex-blazblue guy.

edit: this isn't a knock against sf in general, i love st, a2, cvs2, etc. but even those games have legit rushdown other than jabjabjabEXcancelthrow whoops i mashed dp out of blockstun there goes your life.

It's pretty easy to say balancing a game is easy when you've never done it.

 

it is in fact very easy to balance a game; just ask the people that made karate champ.

what isn't easy is balancing a game and making it interesting and fun to play. hence why complex games such as vf, sf, etc. all get updates to make the games more interesting and (hopefully) more balanced.

sf4 is balanced now, right? in that case, why bother making super?
