I have a good connection with a small number of NYC players so who knows maybe we can have some good SF2 games.

-That is their only real argument in regards to the games inputs. It's not as tight regular ST, but the difference is not significant.


- I have seen connection glitches with health bars, which was patched last year. Maybe a graphic glitch here and there, but that's it. I have not seen any of these hit box glitches he is referencing. Maybe i'm too scrubby to notice it.


- Exactly there is a top tier, but a lot of characters that were low tier are now mid/high tier. This allows for a wider array of interesting matches. If anyone has played me, know I play Honda, and he is a lot better than his ST counterpart. Ochio combos aside.

As for the Evo hate, I'm not sure he has ran any kind of a tournament before, I used to run 3S/marvel/GG tournaments back in the day when I worked at an arcade. Not easy.

 

This is why i love fighting him now. Jab headbutt eats fireballs but land directly in front of you to punish. I love the fact that Fei long can square up against anybody now also.

TvC is actually a dope game imo... I would rather get that game than CvS2 man... I mean seriously, how many teams do you wanna see with A-Blanka, C/K-Sagat, A-Claw, A-Sakura, A-Dictator, or A-Rolento in it??? Its like watching a slower version of MvC2... Everybody has the same damn team doing the same damn strats... I give props to cats who rock mid/low tier characters/teams and are actually good with them... I watched TvC, and although there were teams that had Karos in it, there were still a gangload of different teams in tourneys...

BB is dope too, granted damn near everybody's got an infinite, but fuck that man 'cause GG was broke as hell when it first came out on PS1... No GG affiliate wants to admit that one... Even slash and accent core had some crazy stuff in it... Plus I don't see the beef in saying BB is the same as GG... There's small similarities, but the style, presentation, and system in general are different... The game is still dope man... Dude is afraid of change... I understand some ppl's fear of change in terms of tier-whoring, but thats another topic of discussion altogether...

My only beef with HDR is the character animation.. Imo it could've been smoother... I mean I'm not asking for 3S animation, but it could've been beefed up... I mean SNKP's KOF characters were done way better than HDRs characters in terms of style and fluidity (although it made the game rather slower i think)...

If you wanna say the FG community is watering itself down, then I would partially agree in terms of losing... I can't count on hands and feet how many times dudes pull the plug on T6 online, especially during a ranking match... I'm like "bitch take that L like a real person!!!", and then I realize its the internet--- so I'm like whateva and move on... I'd say its watering itself in terms of new cats coming to the scene thinking that in order to win one has to tier whore... While I was living in Hawaii, there was this one cat who was dope at 3S and ST, and we managed to get him interested in playing Tekken (right when 5 dropped). He played and played and decided to pick up Steve... He was dope with Paul and Jack, but felt that against really good players, he had to get Steve... He went to Evo and got crushed by a Ling player (and there were a few good Ling players in Hawaii, so it wasn't anything he wasn't used to fighting against)... 5.1 was released he was pissed... I asked him why, and he was basically mad because all the things that made Steve top tier was removed or simply nerfed so bad he was like upper mid at best... So he stopped playing Tekken after that... How many new cats come on the scene like that??? I mean imagine an Evo or some other tournament where every player had the same 1 or 2 characters... Our drive for winning makes us lose the interest in learning a character for other reasons other than winning... But back to the main argument, (which one was that?) just because new games are replacing the old ones doesn't mean the fg scene is getting watered down... The Warcrafts of back in the day got replaced by the Starcrafts and Warhammers of now... Wolfenstein, Doom, and Duke Nukem got replaced by Unreal Tournament, Call of Duty and Battlefield (but Duke Nukem is forever!!!)... RnB got replaced by T-Pain and Drake (smh)... Rakim, EPMD, and Public Enemy got replaced by corny ass FloRida and fake ass parole officer ass Rick Ross... Black-Eyed Peas replaced themselves and they suck now...

Change is inevitable, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse... Personally, fighting games aren't getting worse, its the players that play them... We don't wanna be the best no more, we wanna be like Daigo, and Ryan Hart, and Chibita. We don't want to win with pure skill no more, we wanna win with touch-of-death combos, and infinites and time outs... We don't want to just pick a character because we like the character or because he/she fights our style of play, we wanna pick the most broken character in the damn game and play that garbage style and just throw anything out and win automatically... I'm not saying everyone's like that, I'm just saying that there are people who are in general, and it could very well be increasing as fighting games "get more popular"... I'm not trying to Master Po nobody with a master post, I'm just throwing my 2 cents on the table...

 

In the current version Karas isn't even -that- good anymore. In-fact, he's been tamed down a ton in UaS. True story, I bought a Wii for TvC (cause I have that much fun with it). Really looking forward to seeing the crazy finals at EVO.

 

Karas was pretty broke in the old version right? He lost a lot of his setups and I think he lost an infinite he had Chun li could infinite for free, but its not infinite anymore..

Its all about ryu assist, zero, ippatsuman's godlike rushdown (will make you block forever, pushblock's gotta be timed correctly or else). and reset super throw.

I used ken and tblade when I played. Had some nice tricks and could net good damage. But I startup again ill play zero and ryu. Isn't there a possiblity of a rerelase on xbox and ps3?

and hnk is a really hard game, not even kidding. it's one of the few 2D fighters where the side of the screen you're on affects how good your character is.

 

Yeah Karas was crazy broke in the JP version... I mean dude had different infinites he could do to anyone at anytime... The US version is alot better I think...


And as far as HnK goes, well yeah, that's the only game I know of that characters have specific 1p and 2p side combos because doing some of those combos on the opposite side is damn near impossible, even for JP players...

I really hope they do come out with a HnK2... It would be dope to see Devil Rebirth battle it out... His quotes on the Fighting Mania game was hilarious...

I just watched a couple of the new Trials for Dee Jay and Adon...

I must say that my penis is quite erect for SSFIV to drop I'm liking everything I've heard so far. I really like the resounding Sagat nerf-hammer blows. I bet you won't see too many Sagats anymore. The S-tier-only players will move on to Dudley now I guess.

I can barely wait until next Tuesday at this point. I'm pumped (Swedish penis-pump style) for SSFIV!

 

^Sagat will still be tops, I'm willing to bet it. I think the only real change that has hurt his overall ability is the change to tiger knees, but they weren't necessary before hand.

Ryu will still be upper as well.
