After playing the game for 8hrs. I would like to say Guy is the truth. His rushdown game and meaty attacks are awesome. Almost everything connects. May fav is C.LP into MP>HP two in one into 214+LP(Sends to the wall)236+K>MK(Knocks opponent down)or a 214+LK(All the hits connect with LK)Every time you land a combo that sends the opponent away, his 236 with K(LK cancels run and EX version absorbs hits)and his 236+P(each punch has different ranges)closes the gap rather quickly to continue pressure. You have to be very smart on how to bait his 236+P(Pressing P again performs a elbow drop)I was using it from time to time when my strings were block in order to create a good mix-up and pressure.*BTW, your opponent could CH.HP his 234+P>P if they know is coming*

His command grab from the air is fucking strong. I felt like I was grabbing everyone too easy. But, everyone adapted and figured how to deal with it at times, but still, is a very good move. His C.MP is one of my favorites because of the range, the speed and the fact you could combo into a Standing HP. His 214+K is very, very good. The shit stays active for a very long time, and his EX version has invincibility frames at start up. I could see people spamming the shit out of this move. Same could be said about his 214+P EX version. This move is REALLY fast.

Guy has good strings that you'll see in the trails. I love his standing MP>HP string because is a good poke with speed and it attacks mid. Even when your opponent blocks Guys strings they still need to be careful because of the options he has with FADC, overheads, sweeps, C.LP into string..etc..etc. Against shoto's you can't go that crazy with it, but his back dash will make them calm the fuck down on SRK. A whiff SRK is heaven sent for Guy. I'm of to bed now, I'll post more tomorrow.

 

^Guy's links are no joke. He did end up being really cool, I'm glad. Not sure where he's gonna land in terms of tiers but I think with solid play he's definitely playable.

I've been playing super like maaaad - my eyes are burning.
All of the new characters are really really good. Guile got better but I think Deejay is the better of the two. That anti-air ultra is too nasty considering how good his max-out is. That's gonna wreck a few characters. Makoto is really interesting and has a nasty ass corner trap. Her meaty strong is good as ever, her ultra is free is she gets karakusa off, and she has a nasty corner trap with ex dash cuz she can reset you with a light kick and throw out a meaty or choke you or overhead which has a nice long hitbox that can catch you early jumping and the ex has superarmor. Nice divekick with good stun too.
Ken's fireball fadc ultra 2 is really good for him. Fuerte's new ultra is pretty broke. Sagat is def still really good. In vanilla he wasn't a brain-dead character to use, but it will take moke skill to keep him on top. Chun-Li can actually anti-air waay better with d/f lk, and gets dash ex legs > ultra off it.

Hawk S-Tier? I think you're just not use to his setups and gimmics yet haha. He may be really good as far as graplers go but not sure about S homie haha.

It's early so I don't even really know what's up but I'm also gonna say the new booms are way better than maxouts. EX Maxout though, is great. But booms just seem WAY good now.

And I may actually retract what I said earlier about Sagat remaining tops. I didn't realize just how much they reduced his damage overall, along with his health. I forgot those two stats alone made him a threat. Also didn't realize how much the standing lk change would effect him. I'll still say he's gonna be upper but I agree with Cozby in that he's definitely gonna take more skill to use. He'll actually be fun to watch now I think.

Some of you are so lucky I have to wait until tuesday to pick my copy up. I even bought the fighter pad with Juri on it to go with the game as well. I really like it.

 

Cody is that Dude Period. I was thirstin to use Guy and he just wasnt my cup ATM. Some how im feeling Cody. Has difficult match ups for me is Honda and a Agressive Eagle Diving Rufus.

 

I don't know if anyone cares or not but can someone comment on Dhalsim and if he got better or worse or something?

 

Haha, sounds good. And to make it fair, if I'm wrong, I'll spot dinner for sure.

I don't know Sim well enough to truly say, but it seems he's gotten 'better' by default. Apparently he's one of the few characters to receive no 'nerfs' (correct me if I'm wrong someone) so in a way, got buffed compared to the rest of the cast who did. Also, his U2 does a heap of damage. Tougher to setup and implement compared to U1, but at least he has a damaging ultra now available.

If you liked him/played him in the first one, I see no reason to stop or change characters now. If anything, he's more appealing.

Arturo was wrecking shop on that stream with him, but it is Arturo playing Sim, and against some new players/characters at times.

 

I heard he was like the only one who didnt get a damagenerf.

Let's discuss it people! I suck at the game and probably will continue to suck at the game 6 months from now, but the YouTube type channel thing they have going on there is just fucking bananas and will probably keep me playing the game for a long time.

I can honestly say VF seriously needs to integrate something along the level of this in it's next release or it fails right out the gates. Seriously what Capcom has done here is simply God like... they really listen to the community and delivered 100%.

I DESPERATELY hope Sega is taking notes on this, because a 1 to 1 lobby and no replay swapping of any sort would be an utter disappointment.
