Heh, Bryan was one of the few guys that inspired me to play VF back in the VF2 days at the classic Broadway Arcade. I'd be surprised if he even remembers me. Hell, I'm not sure if I'd recognize now myself.

To the SoCal players:

If you have a TV you can bring - please bring it.
If you have a PS2 with cables - please bring it.
If you have an Evo disc - please bring it.
If you have a stick or sticks - please bring it/them.

It's far better to have stuff sit in your car unused than it is to need a set-up and not have it available.


Man, this is just going to be so great. PhoenixDth, GoatCheeseBlues, Ken_I, SillyWilly, Jack, and I played a bunch of FT last night. After we were done, everyone was happy and saying "see you Sunday night." VF spirit is in the air hardcore.

 

I'm not sure if I can make it to the sunday night thing, but I'll try to stop by A.I. on monday.

Yeah no worries about that, I have not used a stick since the old VF3 arcade days, so you can imagine how horrid my stick skills are. But they were still as patient and as friendly as ever. Oh and Plague should I bring snacks/drinks? Let me know. Hit me up on the cell if you can because I need to ask you a few things.

 

Guys, I'm totally gutted to say so but I chickened out of the drive 2 hours in this morning. I set off at 9am in light rain only to hit the most horrendous downpour I've ever been in......this rain would put Scotland to shame and that's saying something. The freeway was just a cloud of spray and being unfarmiliar with the road conditions and hardly able to see exit signs I decided to turn around.

Really sorry I couldn't make it as I was very much looking forward to this. Usually I'm game for adventures like this but even I have my limits, and travelling on 6 lane highways at 70mps in blinding rain is definately one of my limits.

Sorry again....and hope the gathering goes well!

Edit: You're welcome to come down here Monday to have dinner with everyone and play some FT at AI. Might be worth it for you just to do that.

 

Thank you to everyone that joined in the Sunday/Monday festivities to show <font color="blue">Myke</font> and <font color="blue">Shag</font> a good time. It was excellent to see <font color="blue">akiralove</font> and <font color="blue">andy</font> again. This game and the community it binds really add to my life.

Plague and Catherine: Thanks for making this gathering happen and being such wonderful hosts. Driving around SoCal was great and the food was delicious. Playing VF until we each couldn't keep awake was too intense. Good games from both of you. If you have another VF party I'll be looking into coming and maybe drag some heads with me. Best of luck with the puppies.

Myke: Finally get to meet the man behind VFDC. Your a true class act. Learned a lot from the games we played. Hope you can visit NYC sometime soon, the crew really missed you. Moike good games as always, the more retarded, the later the hours, the better. Wish i could of gotten more FT games with you, and you compel me to make a Jeffry card named "POOFTAH". Maybe I'll see you in march. Gotta keep that SPOD/MID KICK battle rolling!!

Shag, nice meeting you, wish we could of gotten in some more FT games also. SS Tenka seems interesting, sorry for running some cheesy basic SS0 SNK style oki on you, but your Super Turbo Fei Long is some vicious shit. Just needed a little 2D pixelated redemption /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif Maybe once i get a real job, I'll bust a Cappo and do the big East Coast tour, (Ohio, NY, Flordia?) and props for sticking with goh as your main man.
