Just got back awhile ago.

Not gona get into a bunch of shoutouts and rants right now cause sleep does sound great right now haha. But I AM going to stress how much I enjoyed it and get the immediate props to where they are due.

Out of all the tournies/gatherings I have gone out of state for, and this includes EVO, this was the most fun I've ever had. This group is just too cool, you're all awesome, really. Both in play and in character.

Immediate, huge thanks to Plague and HowBoutSum for letting us invade your home, eat, drink and be merry lol. Also huge thanks for making sure everyone had proper transportation to and from all throughout. It felt so well organized.

Huge thanks to S_Aki for making sure we got at least one decent, home-cooked meal while we were there this weekend. Really enjoyed talking to you bout various stuff and VF history man.

Extremely huge thanks to Llanfair for providing me with taxi service to nearly everywhere, even to LA_Akira's place. Really enjoyed our philosophical-esque discussions on what makes a good player, differences between various VFs and even music.

Two separate thanks to LA_Akira for letting us stomp over to your place and try out your more than amazing cabinets. I've never played on a cabinet that felt as good as it looked. Seriously. Also, I really appreciated you buying some of that VF swag and letting us pick it up. As goofy as it is, I love that skull and bones beanie man haha.

EDIT: Forgot to thank Shag for posting results pronto, and filming damn near everything. Really appreciated man.

A general huge thanks to everyone who really talked to me about what I could do to improve or what I was lacking, that's the stuff I really enjoyed. Most of you know who you are in that regard.

Might do a full list of shout-outs later but, might just send them via PM so I don't come off as showing favoritism or look like I'm being overly flirtatious . Just know that I seriously enjoyed everyone's company, for real. I had a blast.

For now, time to sleep, and wish that the event wasn't over. I can't wait till the next.

 

I had a great time & it was nice meeting everyone that was there. I was my little vacation & probably only one for the year. I hope to see everyone soon again at the next VF gathering.

Plague and Catherine thanks so much for throwing this. I havent had this much fun at a tournament/gathering for as long as I can remember.. at least since evo!

Everyone was super cool, thanks for making a noob feel welcome amongst a bunch of OGs. All of you were super cool.. who knew we had some bboys int he house too! (LA Akira, Flash...)

I must say I learned a lot about defense when its all said and done. Some of you guys are so good its a little scary but I hope to up my game a bit more before evo..

Thanks LA Akira for opening up your home and giving us a chance to play on the baddest mutherfucking home VF setup anywhere. That last evening in your "garage" was the highlight of the trip for me.

Monty! Your run in the team tourney was inspired & inspiring. About my throw game- I use 3pg or sometimes try shin-ha in 0 frame situations and stumbling trip in pursuit or when I try throw on my opponent's eteg situation. Nice Kage...I enjoyed playing you as always.

just wanted to thank everybody for the great times before i forget.

first and foremost to talis and catherine for having us all over and bringing us all together. it's not many who can pull something like this off and make everything go so smooth and make everyone feel like family. i'm really glad to have been a part of it all.

gerald, thanks for letting me and scamp roll through before heading to riverside. it was a blast to play on the cab and get some good games in. i'm always thankful for the time you take to give advice on my game. thanks also for the vf5 extras, you know i love them posters! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

s_aki and bigboy, you were the first guys i played when walking into plagues house. s_aki we had that one crazy round with the el blaze teleport with the 1p+g throw. bigboy figured me out pretty quick and had the nice oki game on me. definite good games against both and really set the bar for what was to come. also good stuff on the beers and chatting it up outside with the cigs. definite good peeps.

sillwilly, another one of the smoking homies. although we didn't get to play any games it was just good to have heads to chat it up with to give the good times balance. i think you got the steady hands to do the soldering work haha. thanks for hooking it up in the singles tourney as well man. haha, i should have gave you my lighter when we took off. dunno what you and smurf did after.

kod, we had some good games as well. thanks for taking time to help me out with adam's stick. (haha we should have put a jeffery lose button on there ) but yeah man, nice to meet the man behind the tutorial. you just need the abe lincoln hat. haha, j/k.

adam, it was very inspiring to watch you play. i'm glad the stick worked out for you and you were able to get comfortable in doing all you do. haha, its too bad the only games i got in with you were during finals of the team tourney but i thought it was a great experience for me to get in a game with a high level player in that kind of setting. something i probably couldn't do on my own.

konjou, didn't get any games with you but it was nice to hear your thoughts on the game. i thought you had alot of good advice for people and alot of things made sense. hopefully next time we can get some games in and chat it up more.

flash, i already knew you were a cool head. we only got to play like 2 games at gerald's but it was all good. sorry about your stick, i'll do my best to make it all it should have been and more. haha, i think when you were saying "don't sleep on haunts" it gave the homie some extra powers haha.

krsjin, didn't get to talk much but i'm glad you enjoyed beers enough to try to give a few bucks haha. just remember to show haunts a good time out in colorado. i think we had some good games as well.

calijared, i think from the time we played on thursday to sunday you really leveled up your game. good stuff on that and i liked how you would talk back to willy on some shit haha. but good games as well man.

smurf, we had some good games as well man. you need to buy your own lighter though haha.

lianfair, another person i didn't get to play but it was cool to hear your perspective on things. haha, i wonder if you will lock your door after i come in and play on your live account all day while you're at work and ranking match your pai down to 1st dan. canadians and there never lock door policy

First of all, I want to say thanks to Talis,Catherine, and LA akira.
Thanks for inviting us to join this event and I know it took a lot of work!!!

The most important thing is that I saw everyone has passion for VF instead of considering about win or lose. And everyone has a good skill so I can say it was a high level event actually~

However, the only blemish is the time was too short!!!!!!!!!
We should have to extend next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
