    Dan,

Just so you know. L_A_Akira's Sherman Oaks get together is also tomorrow night (not Saturday).

Feel free to go there or here as far as I'm concerned. Although, it would be cool if you came here to meet our new player, come to think of it.

Dang I should check this thread more often. Tonight was my first night home and my only chance to play VF for a while. I could have made it easily. =/

    Jared,

Yes. It would've been cool to see you last night as well. Dan was mentioning you're basically back home from college - so hopefully we'll see you around Thursday nights.

Big thanks to GoatCheeseBlues, Matt_K, Unsafe_Dan, and SuzunaKuraki for making the trip to our house. Catherine and I enjoyed the games. Good to see new players getting into this game. What's more exiting is that SuzunaKuraki has a solid fighting game background and was getting used to the VF system quite quickly. I look forward to more Thursday night action from everyone.

Matt is right about good replays. I shall get off my ass and YouTube them.

Also, looks like some power-players made it out to L_A_Akira's place as well. So awesome that we have three regular VF spots in SoCal these days: Sherman Oaks, Azusa, and Riverside. So nice that players need not trek 50 miles just to get in some games.

That was an awesome night, I should have called you Jared I didn't know you were already down here. Great games with Brian, once again good pointers with Sarah and fun games with Akira, Vanessa and my secondary character.

Sorry I couldn't get down there early enough to get more matches with you plague and matt still it was cool for the games we had. Also real cool to meet you SuzunaKuraki, you actually learned pretty damn fast for the games we had, hope you keep playing, and tell TGS to come down here too!

This is too badass, not only was last night a success for Riverside but apparently people stocked up LA Akira's house too. Looks like everyone is getting into gear for EVO West.

Question to Plague: Are you going to put up all of the replays from all the thursday nights we had or only a few select? I don't want to sound greedy but I've been dying to analyze my play and see where i need to improve, again though not to rush you or anything. Thanks a bunch dude.

I know it seems alot, but since the most active people seem to gather up consistently every thursday, and now I know my friend Jared is back in the business (unless he gets drafted by gay CGS) then I have a proposal.

I think we should start running mini tournaments every thursday as well as casual gatherings.

We don't have to make it big like maybe 1 dollar entry or no money just play to see who wins. But if we start practicing tournament format and playing under tournament conditions we will be better prepared for EVO West and EVO finals. I think this week is a good start since last time we got most of the people in plus new guys.

If anyone is up for it, give some feed back. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    I like it, too.

"Get ready for action! Starting this week, Thursday Night Tournaments (TNT) at Plague's house kick off with an MC KNEE to the face! Warm-ups happen from 7:00pm to 8:59 and then the fighting begins. Random-seed single elimination. Replays are saved. Stats are tracked. Consistency is key for victory!

Evo West and the Finals are not far away. Train in the heat of battle and show the world you mean business!"

EDIT: I thought of a way to track performance: For each TNT, players get one point scored for participation plus one point per player defeated in the tournament. So, entering and winning an 8 person TNT = 1 point + 3 points for the three wins required to come in first.

You know, I like that because it rewards number of wins. That way, if it was a six person tourney, a person with a bye will not score a free point if they win the TNT with just two fights.

I'm trying to get a weekly gathering going in San Diego -- myself, kite m0de from DOA, soL_fiZz, [your name here]. I've tried contacting MarkMan of SDTekken but have not received a response yet.

Any SD folks reading this, my contact info is below. I can host pretty much any night of the week (barring Friday/Saturday). My gf will make rice crispy treats too! :>

I have a 32' Aquos HD set up, PS3, 1 Real Arcade Pro 3 and 1 Hori Fighting Stick 3. We have cats too, so bring the benedryl if needed.

Hope to hear from some of you. Come join us!

YES! Two locations for SoCal VF night yet again. Very cool indeed. If you wish, you are welcome to use the point system I describe a few posts back.

So, to recap, VF5 in Sherman Oaks and VF5 in Riverside this Thursday night. Sweet.
