SoCal VF5 in 2007 and beyond

I'll be taking my ps3 2 vshgs and monitor down there next week so lets touch base mid next week and figure it out.

 

Is anyone housing for EVO west on Friday? If so please post up, getting hotel during comic con is near impossible and Chanchai's pad is all the way in carlsbad so if someone can help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

 

Aaron might be able to hook you up -- Brian is staying there already, I'm sure he won't mind one more. I'll pass this along..

 

Create the VFSocal logo. I am working on the NEW and Improved VFSocal site and I need someone to create the New Logo.

So Create it, post it here, and we will have a vote on August 3rd

 

I know that Friday is EVO, but will there be VF on Thursday night? I will be unable to attend EVO as I have a previous engagement on Friday (Dream Theater Concert) and Saturday/Sunday (Vacation in the Mountains w/o kids with the wife).

I'll know more about Thursday night on Thursday. Renzo arrives at ONT at around 3:00 pm that day. I believe we plan to travel to Chanchai's Carlsbad Cabana (that's a name I just fabricated, like, right now) for Evo West that evening. It may be a good idea to get in some games first /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Still, I'm only speculating at this point.

Aaron/AllWorld has graciously offered his apartment for a gathering Friday night. It's maybe 20 mins from the Evo event! Games will begin after we get off work and go on as long as you feel like sticking around. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Please post to confirm here so we'll know how much soda to buy, snacks to provide, etc. Also, if you can bring your PS3/Sticks/HD monitors/TVs, please do so! As of right now we have 3 set ups and 6 sticks (only 2 high grades though...)

Whenever Evo qualifiers end - ??? I'll be there starting at about 7:00 -- people can show up any time after that.

no idea, but talking to an organizer, he said that there are already 75 people registered and the cap is 128. This means that if any of you guys havent registered thus far, do it right away and since there are so many people, theres a chance that the qualifiers might last a few hours. 9,10? I dunno
I'm down to play afterwards and if you guys also wanted to host something on saturday as well, i'd be grateful.

Evo East had less than 20 I think. Evo North had similar numbers as well.

I hope the same people show up at Vegas.

 

So everyone knows - I just spoke with Matt_K and he'd prefer to wait until next week for a Thursday night VF session. Let's shoot for ranking battle at 9:00 pm.

For tonight, Renzo and I should head out toward Carlsbad between 7:30 and 8:00.
