I hope Itazan and Yosuke check out all the cool Southern California attractions like:

#1 Six Flags Magic Mountain (since they'll be at LA Akira's place for almost a week)
#2 Disneyland (obvious choice though last time I went there it was REALLY expensive even by amusement park standards)
#3 Knotts Berry Farm (not a well known choice for people outside of socal but still very cool and they might like the western/cowboy theme)
#4 Universal Studios (very cool though imo not as good as the other three, lots of stuff to see and experience though)
#5 San Diego if there is time left (lots of stuff down there Sea World, world famous San Diego Zoo, tons of nature stuff plus beaches)

PS: If gerald is going to do anything in the time before friday I'm also down for that, hopefully maybe wednesday or tuesday so as not to get to close to friday. Maybe others can carpool with plague or (insert other socal member) for gas saving. Just an idea.

LLOOOOOVEEE AAANNNDD PPEEEACCEE!!
-Dan out!

hey dan,

I was planning on taking them a few places like santa monica (3rd street/beach), hollywood, six flags and a few others but unfortunately, they'll only be with me for a few days and they'll have to pick where they want to go in the time alloted. Hopefully next time there will be more time to take them around here and there.

There arent any arcades that I know of that have vf5 in southern california. Arcade Infinity used to have a vf4 FT machine but thats gone now too.

Hey, cool to see tekken heads still interested in VF.

The only arcade in southern california right now with Virtua Fighter 5 is the Plaza Tilt in San Diego. I should probably go and take a visit to Arcade Infinity/Super Arcade and see if they will get it too.

I've also ask reps of Family Fun Arcade in grenada hills if they would get VF5 but they have not replied back to me. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Otherwise you have many socal players who open there house up to others (new or not) such as Plague in Riverside, Brisal in Azusa, and LA Akira in Sherman Oaks (who has a godly custom arcade set up in his garage).

Hope that helps.

I guess it is a good time to get interested in VF5.
you should watch a vf player, Itazan, who won evo. he is Japanese, but he is staying here for a while.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
But if you have access to a home version of VF5 a nice place to start is in training mode. It has a fairly good training mode, so it's not a bad place to begin.

If you're already familiar with the game then your choice's are pretty limited arcade-wise. Much like what was stated before me, the only VF5 machine I have ever seen or heard of is in San Diego.

The community is very good about gatherings at someones house though. So just post up where you are and your availability.

For training, use VF4Evo on the PS2. VF5 has no training mode.

Last night was great fun, well... losing kind of sucks but I learned a lot. Thank you to Itazan and Yosuke. Itazan has decided to stay in SoCal I little bit longer, but Yosuke leaves tommorrow for Seattle, I hope he has a safe trip.

TypeTenchi,

I like Monty's description a little better than my one-liner from above. Here's my expanded description of no training mode...

VF5 Training is limited to command and free training. You can not record anything. No slow motion replay, either. You can set the CPU to block and react in about 10 ways. You can also spar with it at 5 levels of difficulty. The AI does not really use VF5 techniques and it is unaware of the ring. There are no challenges, quest orders, or anything related to the detailed features in VF4:Evo.

To everyone:

Itazan has extended his visit to SoCal. Current plans have him here until September 15th. Check this thread for details of when to come play at the house.[/size]

This Thursday, for instance, there will be VF from 7:00 to midnight.

WOW. I did not know that. The last VF I played on home console was VF:Evo. So I just assumed VF5 would have an equivalent or better. My bad to anyone I miss informed. That kinda makes me sad to now know that. =[

VF5 update.

You are all welcome to come play tonight (9-12-7) with Itazan from 7:00 midnight. Tomorrow is still on, however, L_A_Akira and Itazan will not arrive until around 10:00 pm.

If you haven't played rounds with Itazan, you are really missing out. I recommend taking this opportunity before it slips away.
