I can't promise anything yet, but I'm working on a custom stick with an analog button, and also modding a pcb into a HRAP2 to also have an analog button. So with those two+psx/2 to usb converters, they'll work with ps3.

=) Aka more sticks for the vf5 setups.

Also, is there anybody from the olympic/fairfax area that's willing to let me carpool (aka bum a ride to and from) to the gatherings? If so I will be able to lug along a heavy ass ps3+ sticks (whenever I finish building them).

Yeah, while we're on the topic - anyone else in the Thousand Oaks/Agoura/Ventura County area?

Sometimes it gets lonely up here with nothing to pass the time except beating my wife at Wii games :|

    Aftermath post,

Plague showed up first before us to help with set up. Me and Jared arrived at around 11:00 or so.

We went through our characters move lists and played some matches right off the bat.

As time went on, Matt K. and his friend come in to play. Matt K. played Jacky and a really nice Lau. His friend played an insanely annoying Lei Fei that doesn't tech lol. GG's to both of you, I hope you guys had fun.

Two new guys came that I had no idea who they were, played a bunch of 2D fighters. They tried out VF for their first time here. One of them played Eileen and the other played Jacky. In the beginning it was a learning process for them, but by the end of the gathering (they left around 10:00) they were very very solid, insane improvement. I think those guys probably played the most matches out of anyone there, I never saw them stop! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

Line and his friend came up from SD. These guys were former DoA players like me and Jared so it was nice for them to move on to a better fighting game/community. They were definately new to the game but they looked like they had a ton of fun. Line played a wily Shun and his friend played Lau. The seemed to understand the game leagues better by the end of the match. Thanks for bringing your PS3 and hori stick Hossom, I hope you had fun, and learn to spam that BT Sabaki with Shun, shit is evil. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

Me and Jared went for lunch around 1:00 and when we came back Catherine was there ready beast people with her Pai. After destroying me a bunch of matches with Pai she went on later in the gathering to switch over to Eileen, probably to try her out. Seeing her beast with Eileen and Pai has made me come to the conclusion that I hate both characters in this game >:p
lol jk, GG's to plague and catherine

Finally at the last minute, GoatCheeseBlues (the guy who taught me Sarah) and that one Aoi player that reverses everything (I know he has a name on this forum but I can't remember it.) showed up for about an hour or so. They had a tight schedule so they couldn't stay long but it was nice to see them in action. I went Sarah vs. Sarah against GoatCheeseBlues and it was a crazy good match, GG's to Brian for taking it in the end. The Aoi player destroyed me like he usually does lol
Thanks for playing with us, and thanks Brian for the tips as usual.

PIZman and his friend (who had not played fighting games in a long time) came by real late. I don't remember the characters they played but they seemed to have alot of fun. We left before them unfortunately. Thanks for coming by, GG's , hope to see you guys some more.

Overall, once again want to thank El Brisal setting up and hosting this as well as buying pizza plus food for all of us. Your wolf is beast man, GG's , I'll break that chain of wins against you eventually lol.

Me and Jared played in total almost 12 hours of VF against multiple opponents. Man! Amazing, if we keep this up, maybe catching up to the Japanese in skill level isn't impossible. Will see come Talis's party, EVO west, and EVO Finals. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    GoatCheese was with....Willy, right?

My friend Vartan and I had a lot of fun - he said he's definitely down to come out for another, but he's going to hit 4Evo at my place a little first.

Come to think of it, I'll hit 4Evo a little first too - that was the first time touching VF in a couple of years!

Good matches - I had a lot of fun!

    Thanks Brian!

Thank you to everyone that showed up. I had a great time and I look forward to hosting the next event.

The plan is still to have something every week or at least every other week. Check the other SOCAL VF5 thread for up to date info.

I just wanted to thank first of all Brian for hosting another VF5 gathering at his place. Thanks a lot for the food, drinks and letting us play for so long as well. I was the Jacky player hanging with the Eileen player mostly and playing random 2D games on the side. Thanks to everyone I got a chance to play with and also thanks for all the advice I got also. My friend couldn't make it this time around but he will more than likely make the next get together. I'll play as much as I can whenever I come over so I can really give you guys a better fight. Until the next meet see you guys.

Wait, what?! It's over already?! Crap! I was going to drop in after work! I'm glad I checked online first before driving over there...man. Please let me know when/where the next meet is. Beating up on the computer is killing my skills, and it's been a while since I've played with you guys.
