Whether or not the sounds and visuals of any VF is appealing is subjective. Just because YOU think VF2 is appealing doesn't mean that other people think so. Not just anybody at Sega, you have to submit your results in Japan and send it to AM2 specifically. Because Sega doesn't make VF, AM2 does. English won't cut it because people at AM2 doesn't live in the US, don't know English, and they only care about what Japanese players think about their game that they made for the Japanese players.

It's so laughable to say that "they can get feedback from US VF players...." Like I've said before, why should they only change Lion and Jacky's? I don't like Pai's, so should they change hers as well? Japanese players think the Japanese voices are stupid, so should they change them all to French or something? You thinking Lion and Jacky's voices are annoying is no big deal in the whole scheme of things.

I look forward to your poll results, I bet the overwhelming majority of people will simply say they don't give a shit about the voices.

1. I agree with you on the visuals.

2. A poll? Are you fucking for real now (yes I know you weren't serious...or maybe you were). How about you make a poll and show us that everyone actually likes the voices. There's more evidence to suggest that people hate Lion's voice than there is to suggest they like it. Oh, and when you make that poll, don't put any bullshit grey area like "I don't care about the voices", it's either "I like it" or "I don't like it".

3. Are you saying that Japanese players actually care about the voices? That they'll abandon the game because AM2 actually gave the English speaking characters some coolness and quality. And how do you even know that the Japanese players like Lion's voice? You don't. And if they care so much, then are they really true VF fans? If they are true fans, they won't mind if Sega abandons the stereotypical English voices and crappy quotes for actual quality. If anything, I'm sure those xenophobes would prefer it.

And then you say AM2 doesn't give a shit about their consumers, i.e. anyone other than Japan. YES, Japan=/= the world. If AM2 doesn't give a shit about us, they shouldn't even release the game down here. But they do, and they do it to sell copies. And to sell more copies down here, they need to make some audio and dialogue changes and go psycho on the marketing.

4. They can change the voices all they want, but there's a big difference between a good change and a bad change and the only way for AM2 to figure out which is which is to get FEEDBACK! You also say that the Japanese players don't like the Japanese voices (I assume that was hypothetical). Then Sega should change those too. Am I Japanese? No. So, culturally, how am I supposed to decide whether those voices are good or not. I don't, as long as they don't get on my nerves, I can deal. In American culture, Lion sounds like a moron. Japanese players may be in the same boat that I am with the Japanese characters. They probably don't give a shit about Lion's voice. But we do, because we understand the bullshit he says.

Case in point: Lion's voice sucks ballz. No going around that fact whether you're in Japan or America. They need to change that (among other things) up and market like crazy people. You need to realize the truth and stop hiding behind your arrogant wall of fanboyism. If a product has a flaw, it has a flaw. Sega AM2 needs to get rid of their xenophobia and get feedback from outside of Japan.

Also, we're obviously not talking about making these changes to VF5, but VF6.

Everybody knows that the majority of people from all over the world would agree that Akira's and Kage's voice is spot-on. They sound great and they fit those characters perfectly.

Srider, you say that even if they fixed this or that then I and people like me would still complain, well then what about the perfect ratings that almost every magazine gave VF2 when it came out in the states? Who complained? I still say, to this day, that VF2 excelled in every aspect of a fighting game.

4. Excellent control, etc.

1. The topic being debated is funny (voices?)
2. Post how the gameplay should be the only issue to debate

Lion and Jacky can stay the same for all I care. (which means: I don't care)

Yes the new Brad voice kicks ass, but wasn't needed. (which means: I don't care)

Yes the quotes are cheesy, but I don't play VF to hear dialogue. (which means: I don't care)

You are again contradicting yourself and provide even more evidence that people at large do not care about the voices. VF2 Lion and Jacky's voice are basically the same as VF4 or VF5, so if VF2 was a hit like you said, then that goes even further in showing that most people either doesn't care, or even like the voices.

What about the ratings given to VF4? lol

Anyways, this idea of VF fanboyism is utterly stupid. I've already shared my views about what Sega and AM2 are doing wrong in terms of the VF franchise and the western market. You guys are a few years late on that issue. It's just that people have come to terms with the fact that you can't touch AM2 because despite their questionable practice, they are still making a butt loads of money, and that fact alone is enough to discourage any change no matter how much you and poppa complain about the game.

AM2 does get feedback from the players, why do you think Kage is so strong? AM2 talks and works with top players in Japan, and get feedback about what to change. So if you and poppa really want to get something to change, why don't you guys try to get good at the game and make a name for the western players in Japan? Or actually talk to Sega of America about your issues like other people here have done.

Where is that poll? I'm still waiting, the burden to prove your claims is not on me. Oh, and the reaction to Jacky and Lion's voices do differ if you are in Japan. Japanese people think their voices are perfectly normal. It was actually a bit of a shock when they found out that Americans think their voices are atypical. Come back with your argument again when you've learned to speak Japanese and talk to some of the Japanese players. Saying such blanket statements like "everyone knows Akira and Kage are spot on but Jacky and Lion sucks no matter where you are" is just stupid. Do you guys even know the history of the voice actors/actresses behind VF?

This is your answer to why their voices are this way.
1) VF is a franchise
2) Japanese people can't tell the difference
3) AM2 gets feedback, but not from you and poppa
4) Neither of you really do anything about it besides coming up with old arguments based on a very limited perspective.

There is no fanboyism going on, just acceptance of the fact that AM2 is not going to change, so you have to work with what you have. You two are like years late on the hate wagon. The new hate wagon is gameplay related, get on that one, cause that wagon really does get heard.
