    Ok, so what made SC4 better in your opinion, 'cause not "making it to Evo" doesn't really say much... Both TTT and T4 were in Evo, but clearly TTT was a way better game system wise, and T4 shouldn't have even been an option. Not a single KoF game got a chance to shine even though CvS2 was in Evo several times (KoF 2k2 almost did afaik). Personally, DOA 3.1 should have gotten a chance at Evo, but thats another discussion for another time. There are better games that should be in Evo, but some games get picked over others...

    As far as console releases before arcade releases go, SSF4 dropped for consoles first, and cat's are still playing it, and it "went to Evo"... Same for Melty Blood... 'Nuff said about all of that...

    Anyway, at this point, does it really matter if a console version gets released after the arcades??? I'm not dogging the arcade scenes, because I grew up on them, and still hit up arcades from time to time. But if the next SC was released with the system based on what the fans wanted, and was patchable (and Namco was dedicated about patching it), wouldn't it be just about the same??? I would love an arcade release of SC5, so don't think I'm against it. They're just not as accessible as they used to be in America. So if some cat from TheMiddleofNowhere, Idaho, who can't legally drive a car and doesn't have a single arcade (or corner store w/ arcade machine) within a 100 mile radius want to play SC5, but its out in arcades only, there's no way for him to play the game he truly wants to play. Granted, real heads make the effort to travel, but what if that just isn't an available option? That's lost money... Iunno... I'm done rambling off... I just hope it gets here. Tekken's too repetative, and SSF4 is so "this-or-that" imo <insert "Black Sheep" song>...

    I'm like that "guy from TheMiddleofNowhere"... I grew up on fighting games exclusively on consoles, since I was always at least 100+ miles from the nearest relevant arcade (even now, though I actually have a car now). Being able to go to Namcoland to play SC1/3 or to Dave & Busters to play T4 or Scud Racer on arcade was considered a once in every 3-4 years treat for me. Don't even get me started on VF, as I've only seen VF1 machines, and MAYBE a VF3 machine like 1 time, before I was actually blessed enough to take a trip to Japan, and got to play on VF5 machines.

    Not everybody grew up in arcade culture, and even less so from now on that arcades everywhere, even in Japan, are going down.

    Honestly, no company has put out a good patching system out yet for console fighting games yet, but it definitely IS possible (and maybe necessary in the future). Stuff like BlazBlue CS, where we are promised an actual gameplay patch (and not just "fix" patches, like the ones we got when SC4 or T6 first came out) within 6 months. If companies can do annual patches for relevant fighting games, I think we'd be in good shape as a community, and alot of these issues (like SC4 Hilde/Algol, or overly nerfed characters, like SC4 Xiangua) wouldn't exist, and the SC series would definitely be much better.

    But as it stands, I think that SC4 is a very good game that was lacking in polish to make it truly great. Alot of the changes that were made for the game made alot of people uncomfortable, with DOOM combo Hilde pushing things over the edge. But I still believe SC4 has a solid gameplay foundation, they just REALLY need to fix the frames for character's moves (seems like no move, especially for top tier characters like Ivy, have enough recovery to punish without taking huge risks). hopefully SC5 will finally bring the series back where it should

    SC4 is more balanced than SC3.

    Probably it matters for some SC fans. If it gets released to arcades then at least more Japanese ppl will play and a better version of SC gets released to consoles.

    See people here talking about SC so I couldn't help but to give my two scents.

    SC3>SC>SC4=SC2.

    Now I don't why the heck are most of the people hate SC3 but I think most of what I've heard is that the game was buggy. Can anyone please explain the bugs in the game to me beside the ones where u have to trigger them in a certain situation by input?

    I've always played the game with my friends normally without triggering those bugs and I enjoyed it a lot. So, to me in that sense the game has a pretty much solid system (engine if u want to call it like that) than any other SC.

    Other SC suffers from terrible bugs. most of them are moves that just go threw the character without any hit detection. Or side-stepping and the horizontal move wont hit at all. SC3 didn't suffer from this kind of shit as far as I know and played.

    oh yeah, in term of 3D fighters this is my preference;

    VF>SC>DOA, Tekken=garbage except for Tekken 4 & tag

    Or Namco could pull a "VF5R/FS" and it not get released... I personally feel though that if the arcade version were released, there are more than enough people outside of Japan that could playtest the game (Kayane, Aris, Mick, KDZaster, Neorussell, etc). There should be no reason it should be Japan-only if an arcade version were to be released.

    As far as issues go off the top of my head, Zas was overpowered. He had that 66+b,b that whether both hits connected or just the last hit connected would still launch, plus that move came out fast. 66+a+b was ridiculously fast and was one of the best followups after the air throw, because it was practically untechable. Ivy had a move off of her "new" stance that could ring you out from almost anywhere (beat that Hilde). My buddy from LA would just 66K, and 66K again into her stance and do the ring out move and that was ggs whether 66K was a CH or NH. Setsuka (who was one of my other mains) had a g+b throw glitch, which allowed her to face forward and recover fast enough to combo. Some other characters could do it too, and the animations looked just as retarded. There were some inescapable combos as well if I can remember correctly. There were also ridiculous wallsplat glitches, too that didn't need to be triggered (although some did). Anyway, here's some nostalgia/horrific memories.

    Pretty much what happened in SC3:AE as well as SC4:BD both games were never released into console

    Ya but don't forget that the arcade scene in America is dead whereas arcades are big in Asian countries.

    Also I would assume for outsiders to test them out Namco has to pay for their trip (airplane, food, hotel etc.)

    Besides I replaced Neorussell with OOFMATIC since OOF is more focused on SC than him.

    @jinxhand

    thanx for showing me the vids. But still, those glitches wont ruin the game if someone don't trigger them. And I don't know about u but the guys I played against never used the glitches in the game cause we knew its just ridicules doing so. Unlike other SC games where its clear that the game buggy as hell with its hit detections.

    Plus, I played against a very strong Ivy and Zas player. What helped me winning against him is the solidity of the engine it self. While in other SC I can't depend on it. Ukemi in SC3 is waaaayyy better than any SC I ever played, not to mention side-stepping.

    In terms of character balance, all SC games were unbalanced. So why pick on SC3?!!

    No offense but, I think the reason why people prefer other SC games over SC3 is those games engine is just pure shit and people just like to win in a nonsense cheap matter.

    I hope the same exact team who made SC3 will make the new one. But this time I hope they release it first in the arcades for better balance.

    How did the system in SC3 benefit you more than in SC2? Sidestepping was about the same I thought.

    <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> In terms of character balance, all SC games were unbalanced. </div></div>

    SC2 was considered the most balanced in comparison to all of the other ones (not counting console-specific characters and that stupid busted Necrid).

    @jinxhand

    "How did the system in SC3 benefit you more than in SC2?"

    1-The system was more reliable in SC3 than any other SC game. the reason for this is that the game is more responsive and didn't have glitches with hit detections.

    2-As far as I remember, there wasn't any side-stepping in SC2 there was 8way run and thats about it. The Side-Stepping in SC3 was really effective. I was almost side-stepping just like in VF.

    3-Ukemi was also strong And made sense to me.

    4-parrying also was very responsive compared to other SC games.

    So all of these 4 reasons played in my favor of winning against characters like ZAS and IVY. Plus, and I will be very honest with you I'm a Misturugi player. I also use Kilik, X, Hwang (SC) and Yunsong (SC2). And I used to win with all of these characters. Yeah, pretty much strong not to mention X which is regarded cheap by lots of people. But even when I play against X I win because of the 4 reasons that I gave you.

    A little off-topic, but its funny that sidestepping in SC3 was considered better (just as DOA 3.1, and Tekken 3 apparently had good sidestepping - did VF3 have better sidestepping in comparison to the others?). 3 must have been the "magic number" back then, eh?

    -Back on topic-

    One thing that bugged me (no pun intended) was how a certain character could red parry and still get punished for a successful red parry (especially against X and Cerv - they got a free A,A in most cases to my knowledge). Doing either green or red parry sucked for some characters, too...

    I will say that the ukemi was pretty good. Granted some moves were faster than they probably should have been, but ukemi was still pretty good.

    Yun Seong got beefed in 3, but he's way better in 4 imo. But he's still no Hwang.

    Ok, lemme rephrase this (since its already obvious that VF3 had a dodge button) did VF3 have better sidestepping in comparison to VF4, VF4Evo, VF4FT, VF5, VF5R, and VF5FS (VF4-VF5FS for short)????

    Didn't play SC3 so not agreeing or disagreeing. Just to say that i found sidestepping moves easier in SC2 than in any other game i've ever played. Did the game autosidestep if you were walking up or down and you opponent did a vertical move? How is the stepping in SC3 different?
