If we're not going to get R, if SEGA makes VF6 next, I hope they don't repeat this process again. Namco messed up with the release of Tekken 6 by having substandard graphics more than anything else, but at least that game came with everything from T6 vanilla and BR.

    Oh I'm sure they will.

I wouldn't hold my breath for that.

Repeat this process? Oh its very likely that they will. They already did the same thing with VF4 FT. not releasing the final version on console. The only exception to this releasing schedule is VF3 team battle which they did release on console.

All we can do is make do with what we got.

And that's only because the Dreamcast came out 3 years after the first Vf3 came out

Ok then MystD, it's settled. You quit VF. I just hope you don't go around the forum spoiling the fun for others.

I mean, seriously, to everyone who thinks the same:
If you want to quit VF COMPLETELY due to Sega not releasing VF5R, go ahead. Stop playing, stop discussing the game. Hell, move to Tekken if you really feel the need. Just don't announce such stuff like it's something important to others and don't convince others that your decision is the best anyone could ever make.

Don't feed the Yao Guai... that is all.
    Thanks for listening chillllllldren. [IMG]

Like I said before I'll still stay for the time of the petition and wait for a msg from sega. If it's yea ok u guys get you VF5R then all is good, if it's no VF5R then it's final. Also I hope to give some pressure that way. Maybe some sega employee happens to read the stuff here.

Btw. has anyone posted in the official sega forum?

    Why?

So they can call us disruptive/trolling again, and delete our posts for the audacity of asking for a product?

    No thanks.

You sure you want to quit VF5 over Sega's failure to release VF5R? Why not just take out your anger on other players online? You might get a 20 game win streak!!!

I'm pissed too , but quitting VF5 would lead me to play other fighters, then I would curse them for not being as good as VF5, and quit them also . You see where that logic leads? If I followed that course , my frustration might lead me to quit video games altogether .

I would kill to have VF5 R in my living room. As it is , I'm planning to go to japan, primarily to check it out. Don't give up hope. The naysayers say VF5R will never come because it's not profitable . This is Sega we are talking about, who gave platinum games a second chance after MadWorld flopped. They are bringing the financial dud Yakuza series to the west again. And in a recent Famitsu article , 1/29/ 10, they said they would make Shenmue 3 for any console maker that would fund development in exchange for an exclusive deal.

I can't quit VF cold turkey, VF skills need to be honed. I practice Zen, and every time I take a VF break, I have to come up with a new konan (public example, like a perspective setting mantra) in order to pull off the SPoD consistently.

Richkwondo no offense intended but your post shows a large part of the problem.
You imply sega consists of idiots with bad buisiness sense and bring on the example of yakuza and giving Platinum games a second chance after the failure of Madworld.

In doing so you seem completely oblivious as to why those things happen.

Yakuza can be brought over cheaply now because sega convinced Sony to drop their rule that states voices need to be localised.

As for platinum, Sega entered a multi game publishing deal with them long before MadWorld was even released, recently that brought to fruitation Bayonetta(Million Seller and all around incredible game, then again MadWorld was a great game as well) so in the end this is working out great for Sega.

things happen for a reason yet millions of people on thousandqs of forums spout crap while they have no clue what is going on.

Fishie I'm all ears if you want to continue to enlighten us on the inner workings of how these things work. Really that's no hell stab to your intelligence, I'm seriously asking!

On a side note, please feel free in your rant to drop a small turd on us in regards to this secret project Sega is working on. Thanks! [IMG]

So hearing/reading a "No" once or twice didn't do it for ya? [IMG]

Also... what pressure? Are you as arrogant (in this case) as to think that Sega employees would think: Oh no! We're gonna lose MystD if we don't port the game.
    Seriously?
    ...
    ...
    whatever.

    @Fishie
Rodnutz speaks the truth... we SERIOUSLY wouldn't mind if some more info regarding the new sega project "accidentally" leaked out [IMG]

It's not that I don't play other beat em ups. I own all recent 3D beat'em ups. I play VF mainly because of the balancing and secondly because of the system.

Biggest problem VF has is the low ammount of players but thats not due to the blancing or system but the presentation. In other fighters you fight on the streets freely and aren't bound to a wall or ring. If the main reason Tekken 6 didn't sell well, is the graphics, then VF5 sold badly because of the graphics as well. Nobody likes grapics that should look realistic and instead looks like plastic. All other beat em ups have a complex online mode. VF hasn't, you can't even kick ppl if you don't want to play with them. Then there are the non multiplayer players, what does vf offer them? A arcade mode and a quest mode. What do others offer: Story, Arcade, Survival, Timeattack, Force mode just to name a few. Then there is the reason that it's hard get into. Where are the training modes VF evo had to get easier into the game?

So basically VF tastes good but looks very ugly and nobody wants to even try eating it. Resulting in a low ammount of players.
If I start up any other fighter I can play nonstop 24H until my eyes bleed. If I start to play VF online, I often have to wait 30 to 60 min. to play.

Now there is a VF that looks a lot better and flashier and they dont release it....... I've never seen any other beat em up getting skipped and it isn't even the first time.

@Griever of course if I leave VF Sega will be so sad they'll make VF5R just because of me ;P

No seriously I don't expect anything it's just that my frustration has accumulated too much. I see this petition as last chance. I've spent so much time and money in VF. I feel more and more that it's wasted. Whatever I try to get more players it fails and sega does so much wrong with VF. Now there is this petition, a slim hope I can still hold on to.
If even that is crushed I just don't want to anymore.

Re: Speculation and rumors about next VF-related g

Omfg......first of all the whole drive of my post was don't give up on Virtua Fighter yet , but Fishie as Sega's self appointed Gestapo has to get all defensive about a company he doesn't work for.
Fact : Yakuza 2 sold 50,000 copies in the U.S. That's 30,000 less than Shenmue 2 sold on Dreamcast. I know all about the platinum games deal with Sega. Deals can be renegotiated. They should cut it off after Bayonetta , and quit while they're ahead.

He doesn't know shit. Sorry it's true, he played this I've got insider info from Sega bullshit game before , in 2008. And all he produced was a lame fluffy piece about Jean Kujo's hairdo. It was worthless in regards to VF5R console . At best , his new "info" is Sega just started work on VF6 . Wow, VF5 only came out 4 years ago, we could have guessed that. Don't try to sell me snake oil.

If you're going to preach to everyone to "get a life " and stop wanting VF5R for console. How about you take your own advice, get a life and stop pretending to be Sega's PR guy. Cursing everyone out who you disagree with shows you have no aptitude for that job. You're a writer for a 4th rate site like the now-defunct Kikizo. Apparently you're freelance , since you have so much free time on your hands to play the Sega police. My point was Sega takes risks. Period. Nothing you say can dispute that.

I don't want to get into any of the shitty arguments in this thread at all but i'm pretty sure the EU and US release of Yakua 3 has an English voice track.

Madworld was part of SEGA's contract with Platinum Games, they had a contract for four games with them and Madworld was the first. The fact that it flopped didn't change anything.

Don't put VF in the same sentence as beat 'em ups.
Yeah, I'm being a dick about it, but here, read this:
    BEAT 'EM UP

Yeah, that's definitely one of the main reasons.
Open, infinite stages and street backgrounds are teh shiz.

    Seriously? That's your logic? Wow...

Remember kids, just 'cause it's your opinion, doesn't mean it's a fact, now go to your room.

I'm not arguing about the lack of features in VF Online, but where did you get the idea that other fighters have a complex online mode. Other than the features SF4 promises to have... I don't think there any complexity in any online mode in a fighter right now.

Agreed with the training mode being weak.
    BUT
Timeattack is build into Arcade mode in VF, and seriously...
If you'll tell me that Force mode (or similar mode) adds value to the fighting aspect of a game the mode is in.... than... nevermind, I just don't agree. I think those modes are a poor and unsuccessful endeavour to prolong the game's life [IMG]

Again with the ugly thing. Ok, YOU don't like VF's graphics, we get it. How did you figure out that it's the reason for the lower number of players compared to other fighters...?

First: There's probably tens of fighting games (and beat em ups if you like them so much) that haven't been released outside of Japan.
Second: Do you really think that the game you so want to be released (as we all) looks all that different from the really ugly one you don't enjoy that much? Open your eyes dude! Those are SLIGHT tweaks. If you think that VF5 has plastic models, VF5R will have plastic models TOO!

Seriously, just give up. Like I said, it's not the usual me, and I'm being a dick about it right now.... but WTF!? You APPARENTLY don't like VF! WTF are you doing waiting for VF5R!?
If it gets released... how long are you gonna enjoy it? 2 months? Give me a break...

    Oh, and please:

The point of the online ranked mode was to sort of emulate the arcade experience.
You cant boot players who put in their 100 yen in a machine that is back to back to yours.

Thats true too but it can become a pain in the ass when a puller or DMPK spammer keeps joining your games. You know... Darthminion... AbruptAddy and the rest of them.
