SSF4 Good Games Thread

When I saw him at a tournament once, he was as quiet as can be and was just standing around observing stuff. But online he calls himself the "king of hate." I'm telling you guys you should've seen some of the posts he made on srk, and he even had a website where he try and draw some hate out of the community.

EDIT: I think he calls himself the king of hate in his youtube channel description too.

Tsua. Have u ever played at tourney level. If not, you should give it a shot. Apparently DSP has. U are definitely the best SF player i've faced. And it really isn't even close. Props.

 

LOL naw man, I'm just barely getting my feet wet with SFIV. I still have TONS to learn. I'm nowhere near tourney level yet...not even close. Thanks though...it's very kind of you. =]

He just started playing SF4 on console like 95% of us.

The first set you straight up owned my face but the second set I did better.

Chun-Li is no joke man! I think she can do a lot against Abel because he really can't stop people from jumping in on him. That move where you flip over me for an automatic, deep cross-up is brutal too. Took me a while to start reacting to your mix-ups but I feel like I learned a ton about that match-up!

So... thank you for helping me learn; I hope you were able to learn a little from me as well. Abels j. fierce OWNS the air though... I could tell you were probably like, "WTF??? I can't beat that out with anything!"

I also realized, during that set, how important Abel's roll is to him too. EX roll was the best/only way to avoid your oki mix-ups cleanly; REALLY glad I figured that out cause you were tearing me a new one with the cross-up into that overhead, flipping kick! Rolling out of the way and then immediately going for a deep cross-up started working wonders for me once I saw it was hard to defend against.

Her cr. short combo'ed into Lightning Legs is really good for her too. You can just mash while I'm doing a combo and if I'm not frame-tight on my timing, you will interrupt into Lightning Legs... That is better than you might think cause it's not easy to land absolutely everything frame-tight, especially online; but it'd still be powerful even offline (we had a really good connect so I'm not blaming anything other than myself)... You are a very tricky player though!

Good games to vfhayato. Dont sweat the small stuff man. There are a few things you might wanna keep in mind when playing sf.

1. Jumping around with little to no purpose is very very bad. Well jumping period for the most part is bad. You gotta learn to control that.

2. You gotta use your anti air moves. Since your abel, Your anti air will most likely be c mk. Make sure that you use those AA's to keep people from jumping in on you.

3. Do not use Abel's Rekka kick ender. It is very bad and never finish his rekka on block. Vs a ryu player thats an SRK fdac XX ultra. Or vs any character they will make you eat a ton of damage for using that move. Be far more careful of that in the future.

4. Poke more. S lk with abel is good along with max range hk. the hk isnt to be used alot but it has decent range for a poke of his.

5. You gotta roll alot smarter, Rolling into SRK's isnt a good thing and remember that you CAN be thrown out of the roll as well.

Strangely enough, I agree with this somewhat. He is more VF-ish than other characters. I think a lot of that is he is largely based around mind-games and mix-ups, much more like VF in a way than SF...

I main Sakura, so if anyone sees me on please don't hesitate to invite me to play a few games, i could use the beating. Ive gotten too used to shoto and Sagat scrubbery that i dont know how to deal with competent players that play other characters /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

 

It's not just you dude. I can count the amount of other rose players I've seen on one hand. Mind you I main her myself and I definitely can tell people are not used to fighting her. It's especially hilarious when people don't know her block strings.

Rose is so bare bones in terms of she doesn't have any crazy combos or crazy abusible things outside of Sham Wow. So to use her effectively you just need to really know your match-up's well and have a solid like a rock defense.

As my SF dexterity is not the highest, she fits my abilities well.
