good games today eric, i actually haven't have that much fun for a while. akira is too cheap......too many option select oh well, next time i will be ready for that catch throw cheapness. in the mean time i will look for something else to use instead of the evil kick since you seem to know how to beat it now...

oh well, i'll play with everyone who wants to play during the weekend.

Heh, yeah, playing last night was definitely enjoyable. Your play level is improving at a quick pace and I think overall, it was 50/50. What I found interesting was that we both were changing play styles to adapt to each other every few matches. I want to improve on that and be able to change within a match but that will take some work on my part. Also, I was a bit lazy sometimes with executing throw counterable moves without doing any kind of defensive breaks. It should be my automatic reaction to do counter/double throw break or evade/double throw break...I'll just say I was tired from working all day. /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

About the "evil kick", you might want to just stop after the first kick in situations that you're uncertain it will hit since the second kick hits high. There is only a 4 frame disadvantage for you so I'm still stuck in the guessing game. If you keep doing that 2nd kick, I will have to practice my shoulder ram combos on you. /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

'Sup. Familiar faces all around, but new game for me this time. I'm down for playing whenever there's hookups. Btw-I'm probably the only one in this thread w/a US VF4, I assume the rest of you have either Japanese VF4 or arcade board, correct? Anyway, I'll see you guys soon.

 

Hey Chris. Tim has the arcade board (which I believe is in the process of being upgraded to Version C) and the rest of us have the Japanese PS2 version. I know Tim wants to play more often to get ready for the tourney so there will definitely be some get togethers in the near future. I'm always up for some gatherings, but aren't you practicing for a TTT tourney? I mean, dosen't it screw with your play if your taking on more than one game at a time? I might add vf4 is alot to learn. You asked if anyone plays Aoi. I would have to say she is one of the harder characters to play and don't be suprised if you loose alot at first with her. I salute you in your effort if you plan to play as aoi, good luck! If you want to hookup pm me, so we can set a time for this weekend.

i was just wondering if you guys wanted to hold a vf4 tourney in stl, so we don't have to travel and we can have decent comp to play with. i'm hope this could be the biggest one ever for vf4 with big pot for the winner to attract large crowd. i'll be happy the run the whole thing but you have to provide me with the location, (DS ?)

good game lastnite alfred, today i thought of another thing to practice, it seems like everytime after one of us did a throw counterable move, we tried to triple throw break but ended up getting counter hit, so i guess we have to work on evade, double throw break, or evade throw escape guard. if we get the timing down, i think we will advance another level.

yap, good game last nite T^5. Man, did my Jef get a beating /versus/images/icons/smile.gif But its all good, its helping me learn how to fight jacky. I do escape double throwbreak sometimes, but it is risky, b/c if opponent delays attack, you will get counter hit. If you can guess which throw opponent might do, safest is probably escape, single throwbreak, guard.

I think the tournament is a great idea. I'd be willing to help out. But what will we do about location? (can't do it at my place /versus/images/icons/frown.gif )
