HI, I am new here. Nice to meet you all!
I have a plan to go to London on this weekend.
Could you tell me where the arcade is located?
I've heard that London has a nice arcade culture, so I am looking forward to see.

the problem is the scene is a lil quiet at the mo since there are no tournies but best to come down on a friday or saturday around 7-8 hopefully there will be some people, but besides VF there are other games like derby racing or f zero so its not all bad.

    Hi geewai_ho.
    Thank you for the tip.
I will try to go there night on Friday, then.

My hotel will be around Piccadelly, so I think I am not gonna have a problem with finding.
I am looking forward to have some good games with some of VFers.

not sure if it's the same guy who was there on saturday, but yeah last night there was a wolf player who was really really good. he was banging me and jeffahn and VO up. he did some really nice little tricks and his stepping was great! should ask him who he is next time hehe.

I might be able to make the odd Friday every now and again especially from around April. What time do people usually start showing up and are the sticks any better now?

    Hi,

Lets get this story straight, overall against me and the player in question it was 4-4 Vanessa vs Wolf , then he changed to Goh. He didnt lose against anyone else apart from Onny doing an excellent win against him with great Brad pressure. If i was to compare his wolf "Honestly" to anyone i would say he is the same or slightly better than Jun (yep, he is quite good) so if this is Akapan, you`re a good player, [3_]+[P][G] kept catching me out, good through escaping and good pressure.

    Nufff said....

Wow, I've never noticed this thread before; maybe this is a cue to the mods to change to the 2 board design (On/Off Topic) other forums enjoy.

On the topic of that Wolf player, I was in the process of disecting his play; I thought he had some set patterns which would make him vulnerable to some degree. Then I had to go home, but at least I beat Gerald once or twice...out of 15!

I'm having trouble deciding what characters to concentrate on. I have been concentrating on Wolf & Jeff lately, so my Aoi sucked when I tried her against Gerald (Vosor) on Saturday. I was going to get a PS2 when I got a new place, but now FT's coming out, so I'm probably going to end up selling my copy of Evo. That said, I think every1's going to keep playing Evo until FT arrives in a London arcade, then it's like another 6 months before the home version; maybe on X-box.

i think you should really stick with one maximum 2 charachters at a time. That said im in the process of learning aoi and vanessa. But first stick to the one charachter your more at ease with have some sought of firm grasp of there skills, tactics.

hey gerald, i agree with you that he plays similar to Jun, but i dont think he's better imo, he's really strong, but he's using some things that you wouldnt normally get away with against experienced players.

    1. f+p after staggers is nice and safe, but he didnt really take his variations when he kept getting blocked.
shame really... btw, trying it after f+k+g is just plain cocky. =p

    2. nice use of df+k+g, tho he wouldnt really get away with it against experienced players with quick thinking, imo the p,kG followups get way too obvious. he should use the move less. it's less reward than it's worth and highly punishable ducked.

    3. was using uf+k abit too much for my liking, ...... i think he could have been abit smarter than that for distance coverage. wolf has a decent distance game.

Overall, i played him only once and beat him only once, so i cant judge him furthur.. i blame the cue, i so wanted to play him more.. by the time i got to play him he was on his last credit out of 4, so i beat him, then he left... /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    oh well, next time.
