i think it's just the sticks, i donno about other people, but i think they are much better now, for me that is.
by better i mean it 'feels' alot like my home stick compared to what it was during the all vs all tournament. though of course still not as good /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

i know some people still thinks the sticks are shyt (namely optimum, arc, steve...... and etc!) but like silver said, they're alot like the ps2 soul calibur sticks now.... which is all good... muhaha /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

anti-akira....? your avatar says it all! /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

personally ive always liked the sticks but seeing i still play with pad and on 50 hz at home i might add, cant really complain. I think maybe if i get a new telly with 60 hz and some new sticks it would improve my reflexes and inputs??.

The sticks are still not good but they have improved imo. Feels like my busted up namco stick to some extent. Me thinks I shoulda went on Friday to see this Wolf player but I don't like going out at night much, especially to London. nice to Hear Berserkers Akira has improved, not that it was bad to begin with. How can u play on 50hzt man, AND a pad. That pains me to hear those two things with that game. I'd rather play on pad and black and white than both at once, lol. Sticks WILL improve reaction times (tho mine are still slow) and inputs might become sharper for commands too.

TBB, the main reason you can say all this is because you are another WOLF so you are for more adapt to wolf play than a mere vanessa player like me. Also, you can`t really judge your overall status vs him in one game, he may have read you after a game or 2, so its after playing him a total of 8 or so games and coming dead even, i can say basically that he is more or less as good as Jun with various variations and maybe harder at the time since it was my first time playing him.

Im sure all you guys are REALLY good now, im not an experienced player like you guys on EVO but i try and do my best.....keep practicing hard people.

lol, hey gerald, i wasnt really directing anything to "how others can cope", tho i can see how you could have taken it now that i read my post again ^__^... sorry

your right, i didnt direct my oppinion on how i played against him. infact he trashed me the frist two rounds jun style, i was merely "watching" him play as other players were facing him and got an impression of his general game, no disrespect, i wouldnt talk down to your vanessa in a million years unless i felt like getting my ass kicked /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

peace guys, i think jun is still number 1 wolf, i'd like to see this new guy deal with dai the way i've seen jun to believe it, lol..

Hi, sorry about causing confusion, but you are right.
I was wearing a suit on the Friday night.
Did we have good conversation in series of matches, didn’t we.
Playing VF in a real arcade setting was long time ago...
I was so enjoyed playing with you and all other VFers.
I did not remember how to fight with good players especially in terms of defense. you might see my slow learning curve.
The reason why I was using 3P+K a lot was the somehow I could not do "6" as much as I meant by the joystick . (very often 46P+K became P+K , and 6P+G became P+G )
Anyway, I wish I could have more matches with you guys. I live in France/Geneva, so I probably go to London someday.
    Thank you!
    Akalan

Ah the mystery is solved! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
(Yeah the sticks were an issue I feel restricting some people's play),
I had fun playing your Wolf though if for only twice,
I was the one who played you Wolf vs Wolf (You destroyed me /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif), and then I plyed you with Aoi.

(P.s, G-ho, I can't believe you play on 50Hz on a pad, hasn't affected your game though your still scary!)

hmm, it's strange how many people cant use the sticks, i mean for someone like Rui who uses akira isnt complaining with activation, but simple pais, aois and jackys are not activating moves?? seems very odd.

i've never had a problem with the sticks.... sticks dont adjust to me, i have to adjust to it. it's not as if players can turn up to big events like beat tribe and complain theat they got trashed due to the sticks. every stick is different from eachother.

besides, i've seen people's activation methods, Remi, you keep tapping the sticks light & rapidly so of course you will lose actvation with a differently made stick. take your time and grip it tighter. i'm sure people can get used to it, it just takes a different mindset.

btw, akapan, you played great... no disrepect to your wolf, it was refreshing to see high level thinking and a new style come to london for a visit. i had fun watching you play, and i like your yomi. the low P ~ BCD, CD ~ low throw method is nice, really brought the pressure.

i look forward to your next arrival, i felt as tho i was reminded of different aspects of wolf which i neglect, peace man.

The stick isnt made differently it's just crap. Ollie was telling me those sticks are from about 1997 no amount of gripping chages the fact that the sticks still suck, a good stick is one that has been maintained and does not take 3 hours of putting in 50p to get used to. I doubht you will find a person that will complain about the sticks at beat tribe as i'm sure the sticks will be maintaned properly and are not almost 10 years old. I saw so many matches that whet to 5 rounds just becuase of input problems, thankgod this wont be the case at absolution were VF will be on the ps2 and i will have no reason to complain. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was watching Rui play and he may not be having input problems but the amount of effort it he had to put in to play like that was just stupid, i'm sure he plays even better on his own or another stick.

"crap" is not a word i can define.. i have never heard you actually like a stick other than your own.... infact you dont even like mine which is the same brand! /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

it's clearly your patience and activation. if you tell me you put in countless 50ps to get used to the sticks means you got used to them, and i know you did..

something like that shouldnt get you down so much. you if you got bang up by inuptting a wrong command means you should either use an easier move more (i.e switch from 270 throw to something similar in damage but easier to do) or learn for next time to make sure you are inputting stronger or tighter. not slap it around inbetween your fingers loosley and expect tight command to come out on a "crap" stick.

i dont think the sticks are crap, i've played with crap sticks, but those i can handle to the extent that i can pull off the funamentals.

An example of a crap trocadero stick :

    Almost 10 years old

    Not working properly.

Even when u input the command slowly it does not work.

    In a bad condition.

Input the command for a move and somthing else comes out.

    Not maintaned.

I did not get used to the sticks not being able to move properly or buffer in a move does not mean i got used to the sticks. A simular damage throw to pai's 270 would be [2][6] [P]+[G] since the sticks refuse to allow me to buffer in that move that throw was not acessible. I complain because for the money they get me to put into the game shouldnt i be able to have a stick that works well but obviosly some people seem happy to stick to those sticks and lose matches because of it, i'm not one of them.

Anyway this is last i have to say on the subject, i wont be going to the trocadero unless i have something to deliver something like i did on friday.

just keep at it and it will become easier.

i see lots of people buffer in CDs and modifying moves, it's not impossible... anywyaz, i far from targeted you imparticular.. enough of this subject i agree. whatever.
