Team Hydra in Korea

Yo Blondie, how's the arcade sticks over there and did you need time to adopted to them?

 

Actually kung fu, I was talking to yamainu and he said, that its a little tough for them, but they are going to work at it. I dont know the details, but IM sure they will post about it.

Do try to get some footage of you guys playing ShinZ, Homestay Akira, and the other top players. I don't know about everyone else, but I'd love to see those guys in action.

If it's too much trouble, though, don't worry about it. Just have fun and focus on playing the best you can.

 

They have a camcorder, so as soon as they get back we will go threw and make vids. Dont worry, Florida is prepared to share this experience with the rest of VFDC.

 

Argh, this might mean I'd have to play a slow character and not Kage. When the sticks suck, it's all about big risk, big reward.

Aaargh my Evo Jeffry sucks...have been investing all my "slow character" time into Wolf. The bad thing is Wolf is quite input sensitive...HCB , fastest GS, hit-throw, sabaki, etc.

You needn't allow yourself to become distracted by things that are beyond your control. Play your game & concentrate & you will do beautifully. GO!

Ok report.

The sticks: The sticks are different, if you play on japanese style sticks, do as Ice-9 says and play big risk, big reward. With a little luck on your side you'll guess right and win a few. I'm working on the possibility of us being able to play in the tourny on Japanese style sticks, but it may be too hard to switch the sticks out that often for only 3 teams out of 40.

The comp: I can't get over how friendly everyone is here. Soo many gifts, soo many nice things to see and hear from everyone, It truly is overwhelming. We have made history in coming here as the first Americans to come to Korea for VF =). We had a Team battle last night at Viva Game Center the teams were "Shinz, Blond1, IMF" vs "Moonsuk, Pong Pai, Yamainu" The results were Shinz won all our matches =P. Well, I won 2. It was good to play though and have a chance to get some practice in on their style of sticks. There was alot of players there on Sunday and the chances of playing a large # of players was small, but thanx to Yamainu for organizing this event we got plenty of play =). On a side not, I played some TTT to try to get a feel for the sticks. One coin and no wait is better than 2 coins and long wait, I needed results =).

Right Now: Me and IMF came over to Yamainu's and Nakojin's house to play VF with Shinz, moonsuk, Pong Pai, Sansoo(goh). All of which are extremely good and we got to see what korean level of play is at. VERY good!

on a side note: We are working on trying to be able to compete on Korean sticks day and night. We got plenty of footage of the Team battle at Viva, and we'll get some replays saved of Team replays matches on the PS2, they are HOT!

Anyways ppl, try not to be so derrogatory. We are here for a reason. That reason is not to prove anything but to learn and play with some of the best. Hopefully we are skilled enough to bring some of what we've learned back to the US for those who aspire to be better. =) later.
