If this were to help generate any interest in VF or DOA, then I'd definitely be all for it. Both communities are already small as it is.

The one thing I wouldn't do for a game like this though is take the Fighter's Megamix approach where you have the option of selecting the system. VF players would only want to play on a VF system and DOA players would only want to play on a DOA system. They'd never be in agreement on which system to use.

If it works out like VF vs Tekken did then I'm all for it.

Almost every move is a kockback or knock-up attack. Even some of the counters/reversals have knockback effects. And, some of the animations wouldn't even look right if they didn't have knockback properties, so ultimately, they'd have to change a lot of moves, and probably take out all of DOA's chargeable attacks as well.

Then if you feel the DOA characters "must" have their knockback properties, then take out ring outs.

However, I still personally think that all AM2 would have to do is make adjustments, but we can agree to disagree.

I don't fell that it's a must, but all I'm saying is that a lot of moves would have to be changed. Showing a character do a dragon kick and have no knockback properties would just make it look really weird.

    But yeah, agree to disagree.

I dont think a crossover would work out the games are very different, either way weather they make one or not someone's gonna be mad no matter.

Well, Virtua Fighter did beget DOA. The game commands are pretty similar, it's just the gameplay that's different. I think it would work out if both of our communities would co-operate and see a defining line.

    Jacky's Dragon Kick doesn't knockback ;)

You mean his "double dragon?" It's not the same dragon kick that I'm talking about.

Jacky's flying kick from his back shuffle. When I think dragon kick, I always think of the flying kick.

Is Jann Lee's flying kick the one you're referring to?

Actually, I took a look and yeah, his "Fire Darts" are what I was thinking about. It just looks kind of weird to me. I mean when you get kicked that hard and fast in the face, I don't think you're just going to fall on your back all nonchalantly. It just doesn't look right to me, but I guess that could work. But then there's also all of DOA's chargeable attacks.

Chargable attacks isn't an issue. VF has chargable attacks already.

Man, after creating a new thread talking about this very subject, I have to lol at the comments I made in this thread because my view on how this game should be completely vary from what I posted here.

DOA X VF  i don't want to se that, the only crossovers i like to play is MvC, i prefer to see other Sega characters in a future DLC or why not? VF6 characters from Shenmue, Resonance of Fate, if i have the opportunity to choose only one character from other no Sega game that will be......Kate (Flying Dragon) or Asuka Kazama (Tekken) but thats only my point of view, thanks

I haven't played DOA5 so I don't know if I should have any objections. Someone upthread said they didn't like the option to have options to play either system (a la fighter's megamix), due to disagreements on what to use between fans of either franchise.

In my view, however, the worst that could come from that disagreement is that we end up with the way things are now anyway: two separate pools of players. The upsides would be, though, that the developers can benefit from the extra players cash, and that players can try either system for the price of one, which might make the psychological barrier less pronounced.

Isn't the last DOA pretty much a crossover?
