Why not we decide the teams the night before at the VF party. We get meet up and conversate. Their shouldn't be any hurry to get this done.

The main attraction for this weekend is the SINGLES tourney and not the Team tourney.

The thing is guys, Srider's the one running it. If you guys want it run differently, then someone else should step up to the plate and say THEY want to run it.

I'm not trying to be a prick; I just feel that you guys aren't really appreciating that simple fact. It's not like it's any skin of your back to talk amongst each other and form a team.

This board is supposed to be social as well as informative, so let's make it a bit more social!

And the singles tourney isn't going to be any less amazing, seriously. This team tournament will go by relatively quickly. But hey, who's it hurting to have it more organized? It's less about winning than having some fun along the way... the singles is where you want to win!

It's hard to get hyped about a team tourney when you don't already have a team, so i think besides SoCal and NorCal, there won't be a whole lot of tension and desire to win. But who's to say it won't be fun? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Well we already have 4 teams or so confirmed.

Shag's NYC team just needs one more (fill it with a Boston player?).

I think I know what other teams are going to be made for the remainder of Socal's group. We just need to find Namflow, Yosuke, and I forget who else is coming in a team to play with.

Single tournament is gonna be stupid. The game is only out for a month, how do you have a serious tournament? Team battle on the other hand is always a lot of fun and hype while you cheer on your teammates.

Including the two teams that are missing one person, we only have 7 teams total. The 15th is Thursday, and I'd hate for this to be cancelled on account of a lack of organization (big thanks to everyone's who's been working on this with us).

The organization's a big part, because nobody wants to just get thrown together with a bunch of people you don't know at the last minute. If you're new to the scene and want to participate in this tournament, THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY! Even if you can't play that well, if you join a team with any decent player, the event will be that much more fun, I guarantee it! Nobody wants to be put on a no-name team at the last minute, seriously. And I think that's what Srider's trying to avoid.

Ladon PM'ed me to check out this thread. The rule that we need to get all the teams by March 15th was agreed with Plague when we talked over the rules.

It's very simple and I don't want any problems, but
1) If we don't have at least 8 teams, there will not be a team tournament.
2) If I get enough teams to register for the tournament to happen, no exceptions will be given on the day of the tournament. This means that if your team is not entered by March 15th, you won't be able to participate.

1)and 2) What is the reason for having to register early for a tournament that takes place at a free for all gathering? Strange that Plague is not asking for early registers for his singles tournament and he is actually putting money into his tourney.

Is there even a team from the original Socal crew?

My recommendation is wait till the gathering on March 29th. People will know by then what team to be part of by then, but you can do what you like.

Personally I would not be upset if I am in this or not and by the tone of the your message I don't think I am the only one that thinks this.

Like I said, there are preparations that needs to be done on my end for this tournament, and it's important to know the teams before I am in LA. I don't really care to justify further why I made March 15th the deadline, and I don't know what's wrong with my tone.

I really don't care if it happens or not, I'm doing it for the fun of the people who travel to this thing and to add to the list of events, so you guys (not just SoCal, everyone) can do what you want. If SoCal in general decides that you all just can't be bothered to come up with a team, that's fine. I remember back for Beat Tribe you guys came up with teams by their deadline, and I don't see why this is any different. I guess this shows what SoCal thinks about Plague's event compared to stuff like Beat Tribe.

Anyways, if we get at least 8 teams, we'll do it, if not then it's just not going to happen. Just two more days for everyone to figure out their teams.
