yup, I is d/ling it through streambox. I love this program, hehe. Anyway, that chinese dudes fighting style reminds me a bit from Long the Tiger from BLoody Roar series.

"the kind of moonlight clash of dudes with angry faces, scars, and lots of braided ponytails. The embriodered pants with the silky flame patterns, lots of leather straps & buckles, undead ninjas with glowing green swords"

Spotlite... Tekken's story, and style has always been like that. Have you played and beat any Tekken single player, or looked at the characters? A lot of them have scars, and yoshi(undead skeleton as you say) has been there for quite some time.

I'm hoping that Heihachi is one of those secret time-release characters. He was my main character in TTT. I don't care if he's 200 years old!! /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The new environments look amazing in the trailer. I like the fire stage the best. I hope the characters are more balanced this time. I can't wait to play it. My local arcade will probably have this game, but not Final tuned. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Man, "death by degrees" trailer gets my vote for most hodge podge collection of non sequitor images with an attempt to tell a story (maybe) award. what a bizzare looking mess.

seeing Benicio Del Toro make an appearance was interesting though. Him and Wesley Snipes must have some strange contract with Namco.

''May 14th, 2004 Evidence Of Tekken 5 Card System?

An interesting forum discussion sparked up the other day. In the E3 trailer christie is shown in 2 slightly different outfits, which could be evidence Tekken 5 might support a card system or character customizations, a popular feature on Virtua Fighter 4 in Japan.

    Christie Default
    Christie with beanie

Of course this is no solid proof. The most unlikely scenario is that this will be Christie's alternate outfit, but Namco has never had outfits on Tekken that are so much alike. A beanie and some stuff hanging around the waist does not make a different outfit.

Scenario two would be that this footage was taken from different stages in the developement and one of these 2 outfits will never make it in the final version.

But the scenario we all would prefer is that Tekken 5 will allow us to customize the character outfit with items that are perhaps gaining via versus wins or a quest type mode as we have seen in Soul Calibur II.''

The character customization is one of my favorite features of VF4. I would probably forgive them for bringing back all the old characters again, especially if I can have Kazuya running around with a little stuffed devil on his shoulder (like Lau's bobblehead tiger). I'd pay the five or ten dollars to buy an ID card - it would be a drop in the bucket compared to all the money I have wasted over the years on these type of games.

It's most likely possible Hei will be a time release character. I think that Raven is probably working for Kazuya who probably set this whole trap up.

    But who knows?

As for the screenshots, your better off watching the kick ass trailer.

Yeah I saw the trailer to Tekken 5... It already looks better than Tekken 4, which I hated somehow. I still love Tekken Tag Tournament (PS2), since it was mad fun and shit. Hopefully, Tekken 5 has somewhat the same pyshics as VF4 when it comes down to movement... Not forgetting to mention SC2's movement, which was very free.

    Re: Nice video.

Honestly, I hate tekken for one simple reason: hit effects. Even Street fighter games have better hit effects. Virtua fighter has those flashes (but they are there for a reason...mcs, struggles, etc..), but what are those stupid "smoky-kind of" flashes for in Tekken?

That's why I'm all into Dead or Alive now... I don't care about any other fighting game. Dead or Alive is more realistic than any other fighting game, even though that looks stupid.. Animations are awsome, graphics are awsome, gameplay is absolutly brilliant...

I used to think (like everyone else) that DoA was the pervert-dude's fighting game. The truth is, DoA has the most amazing fighting engine I've ever seen. It's intuitive, but pros always win against button-mashers. It's true that you're able to do some funny shit while mashing, but against someone who's good with counters, you're dead in no time.

I'm kinda going off-topic...so I'll just stop here..

I wonder are they taking out stages that have uneven slopes...since the trailers seem to show only flat stages, some with walls.

The trailer isn't very clear and the game is under development. Some people say namco will change gameplay... But who cares? Tekken is nice, but VF is the game. Don't wanna say nothin' about DoA because I don't know it very well, but Nashi we talk about Tekken 5.... Not Double Dragon or Dragon Ninja or Vendetta, nor DoA. Thank, however, 4 your opinion.

    Re: Nice video.

Tekken 4 is not a terrible game, yes I will admit the character balance is an issue. But Tekken 4 is much more than that. Recently people have found ways to control Jin who is considered the best character in the game. They found ways to punsish and beat his ass down.

Tekken 5 is just going to improve upon it. And I know I'm on a VF forums, and I respect VF 4 alot. But T4 is my current fav fighting game. But I give credit to VF4 players because its a great game.
