I stand corrected. Very valid point there Dandy_J. Indeed those T5 PS2 screenshots look tremendously better after viewing the links you posted.

What are the Kaz and Asuka infinites?

Yep, there's Tekken's flashiness at work. No wonder people like Tekken.

You guys shouldnt dislike a game because of a few broken things. I bet there is some broken things about VF.

Theres already enough hate between TK and VF players. This is just the typical discussion hating on TK.

I actually think T5 is a great game. I'm not saying that you guys don't think it actually is... but yeah..

Whoever abuses those infinites are poopyheads, and all the good players will also think they're poopyheads too.

The reaction you're seeing is a mixture of 1) jealousy that more people in most countries play Tekken more than VF, and 2) incredulity that those same people would insist on an inferior product.

That said, I will be the first in line to purchase T5 when it hits PS2.

Steve's infinite is very situational. You have to sidestep so you're at roughly a 90 degree angle. It's not that easy to set up.

With the exception of the high wall damage juggles, the game is fine.

I much prefer VF, but Tekken can be a bit of fun. I see Tekken as more of a "party game" - when you have a bunch of people infront of a PS2 it is the sort of game that you can easy pass the gamepad around and everyone will have fun.

I'm not jealous that more people play Tekken, I'm just sad that less people play VF. That's a fairly important distinction.

If you have to sidestep to the degree that Tragic did in the video on tekken.net, then it's not very practical. Though I'm sure people are going to start looking for linear moves that move forward a far disatnce, like Bryan's b+1.

    Arena screenshots?

I don't understand how this isn't practical cause you have to be in a certain angle. That's like saying sidethrows and backthrows can be 100% cause they aren't practical and you need a certain angle. It will still happen occasionaly.

Btw; is there any page with screenshots over all the arenas in Tekken? I doubt I've watched all, seems like all matches are played on the same 5.

    Re: Go for Broke.

My comment isn't actually based on the existence of infinites in Tekken...they happen to the best games. A version of VF3 had a "freeze bug" that pretty much destroyed the game, for example, and I loved VF3.

Tekken is inferior to Virtua Fighter for more fundamental reasons, several of which others have already talked about in this thread.

People please relax with this whole jealousy thing. Hey I'm not jealous. I'm just saying that Tekken is flashy, that's all so please calm down. Don't go all "you guys are acting like a bunch of kids" routine. Chillax

First off: Slim Adey, I don't want to sound mean, but that avatar of yours is really freakin' me out every time I see it. It reminds me of one of those creatures in Silent Hill 2. I just had to say this 'cause it's been itching at me. Again, I'm not insulting or disrespecting, I'm just saying that it freaks me out every time I see it.

I feel honoured that I've freaked someone out!
The woman in the picture actually can hold her breath for a LOOOOOONG time (I've got the DVD and it show's the scene in question), but I see what you mean about the SH2 connection!

Gutted T5 is turning out to be broke, I still love it though!

    I'm jealous.

I do wish VF was more popular, I do wish that VF had more flash.

Btw, I think the SF style blocking also has a lot to do with Tekken's popularity.

You live in NJ/ NYC, right? You get my jealousy. I mean, you've got the best competition in VF in the whole country being not far from you. =P

For me, there's no jealousy towards Tekken's popularity as I believe I am not missing out much on it. I am just sad that VF's not popular, and I do believe that they are missing out on VF.

Sadly enough, I never have time to hook up w/ the nyc vf scene. My RL demands casual play, and only with those within my immediate vicinity, who also can only afford to play casually. And that means no VF.

The thing is, I (the casual player) am of the majority. And you can never really play VF casually.
