Supposedly Leo is actually a chick not a dude.

Costume isn't revealing enough, and where are the curves? It is a dude.

Look at the rest of the cast. I mean to sound like a dick when I say this, but Namcock (as some would say after the release of SC3) knows that they can win over little boys by having tons of hot chicks (as well as: big explosions, homo-erotic males, 100 hit combos). I mean shit, marketing...

    Another thing

Another blonde person in a Japanese game... yay (sigh). Lets represent the already overly represented phenotype by making another Northen/Western European character.

well, it's clear that Leo is under 14 years old. If Leo is a girl, then I would say she's 12 years old, because 14 years old already develop boobs

I always hated characters that were severely under age, kills the credibility of the character.

I loved Street Fighter II's roster because every SF2 character was a credible. I don't mind if a character is 16 yers old, that's the youngest I accept.

But, Street Fighter characters went to hell in the Alphas with Sakura, Dan, Karren, R.Miko, Cody.. it's a trend that hurts the seriousness of the franchise.

I love Street Fighter III, don't get me wrong, it's a great game.
But, there are way too many teens in that game of it's own good. Yes, Makoto is great character, but the youth thing is being pushed too far.

As for Zafina, design wise she is as flavorless as Anna, Nina and Julia. No spec of charisma or attitude.

In Tekken 4: Marduk, Christie and Steve Fox were great characters designs and anyone who plays Marduk today will tell you how great a character he is.

In Tekken 5: Fang Wei and Asuka were also great character design choices. (Raven has too much Wesley "Blade" Snipes) in him and adopts too many Hayabusa/Kage manurisms)

In DR: Even if Lili seems to be just a pretty daddy's girl, atleast her move set is highly interesting an is a fun character to play as. I never played Dragonov, im pretty neutral on him

Expert on children's development?! (pedo-alert) Leo is a guy, and must be older than that, I mean at least Lion age in VF2.

    How does age affect credibility?

    "See that little shit?"
    "The one in the diapers?"
    "Yeah, don't trust that fucker."

With all seriousness aside, have you seen the end movies? Street Fighter serious?

"Hey, I'm gonna stick out one leg, forming a 90 degree angle with the other leg and then jump and spin multiple times."

Don't bag on Anna or Julia. Anna has the seductress "I s*** you off for some smack"-vibe going, and Julia is fighting environmentalist (awesome, but wtf?)... stupid, yes, okay she is kinda bland but she is, well /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

    Agreed on Nina though.

    Don't defend Steve Fox, ever.

That's right, GLC, you fucking tell 'im, fucker! This is fucking America buddy, motherfucking freedom of speech and all of that good shit. It's one of the reasons why I fucking love fucking America... and America loves fucking me /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

This whole Tekken VS. VF bullshit is never going to stop, is it? I mean, what part of different strokes for different folks do people not understand? I can go right now and make a fighting game where all of the characters looked like stick figures, the game played horrible and the sound was just as bad... and if some people like it... then so be it! It's your choice to throw a hissy-fit about it but ultimately, it wont get you anywhere. Guess what? People are still going to play/like my shitty game:
"STICK-FIGURE FIGHTER!!!", wether you like it or not.
Tekken/Super Smash Bros./DOA/SC/SF/etc. will still get played wether you like it or not because THE FANS like it. Yes, those games have fans, get over it. No, they will not convert to a game that YOU think is superior just because YOU want it to happen. They will convert when and if they want to.
So please, enough with the endless b.s. about how VF is by far superior and all gamers should worship it.
I love VF but... I try to not worship it because I try to not idolize /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
but if someone else doesn't like VF, oh-fucking-well-then, so be it.
    It's their loss.

I dont play Tekken religiously but I like it and I have fun when I do play it. And btw, Dragunov is a certified killer, seriously.

    P.S.
Enough with the homophobic crap too, I mean, so what if they actually put a character in a fighting game that was actually a self-proclaimed homo? So what? I say let the gay guy fight... and hopefully we'll see a bisexual/lesbian chick in VF6 /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I believe tonyfamilia has said it well enough. End the VF v. Tekken nonsense already! Take it elsewhere PRIVATELY if you must.

Any ways, T6's graphics aren't close to VF5's awesomeness...yet. Who knows...maybe they'll do some tweaking later to the character models and backgrounds and come closer, if not catch up, to VF5 quality? It could happen...

On a more serious note, I'm not liking the two new personas. Leo...ugh. Looks like he's much more suited for an RPG or Fantasy-based fighter. Zafina...not as bad as Leo in terms of fitting in, but still looks a little too "out-there" for a TEKKEN character. Which leads to my next thought...if a newcomer were to choose between T6 and VF5 based on the new two characters alone, I think most (if not all) would choose VF5, no questions asked. So going by character design alone, I would say that VF5 would win new blood far over the likes of T6.

And this is coming from a guy who has played Tekken 4 with a fairly decent amount of skill (although I am WAY FAR from the best...), and is quite a big fan of Tekken in general.

Now that I'm done speaking my mind, I apologize in advance if this REALLY confuses whoever reads this...

In all honesty after playing VF4 to VF5. Sega has stolen so much shit from Namco's tekken that sometimes you have to wonder. Now thats not to say Namco hasnt taken anything from Sega too. Its all about what works. I mean Sarah all of a sudden fighting like Hwoarang from Tekken but no where near as in depth was no coincidence, I was almost offended by this bold move from Sega, not to mention when I first saw goh . The hood screamed Jin. Segas advertising of Akira looking just like Lei wulong was crazy too. Brad looking like Steve and his fighting style very simular and the customizations to make him look just like steve was also no coincidence. So yeah Leo has a gay like look just like Lion, maybe Namco ment to do this too. Its just something about the two rival companies maybe they are in on this together. I dont know

i can just go on but instead of doing this I will play both games because both are atm at the top of the food chain for fighters and imo I think tekken is a little more creative in its system to where the player can be free to set ups more uniquely.

Actually Tekken 5 DR has been quite lucrative compared to VF5 so even if VF5 looks better its always about the mighty dollar and Tekken has been out populating VF latley even in Japan on and off but definitely here in America. I love both games but I cant deny that VF has taken a lot of notes from Namco in the past. I also think as long as each company borrows, steals the right ideas those of us who enjoy both fighters will be in for a treat. I play Tekken more seriously because it has the stronger scene here in America by far and i find the fighting system more appealing to me personally.

Again I love both games. I guess VF is like my step child if I had them as kids

Well, I can't wait to play this game. Graphics for fighting games doesn't make the game, it's the gameplay and how entertaining it is; yet, that's what tekken has always delivered.

I'm pretty hyped as much as VF5 (Tuesday seems so fucking long) and as much as MGS4. I can't wait to see what new moves Steve Fox got.

well aside from Tekken 5:DR, i think the Tekken series is going downhill as VF has. No one can deny the success of VF2 compared to the more recent games. Id still say that Tekken 4 was better than Tekken 5:DR due to balance issues, but i havent played DR as extensively as i have Tekken 4. i do remember that Tekken 5 was crazy with the tier gaps (i.e. everybody with a long range technique was insanely better than everybody else with the exeption of law). i was in a Tekken 5 tournament and i hadnt had much play time with it and i think i was the only one who diddnt pick Devil Jin, Jinpachi, or Law (i went with the fox).

When you think about it there seems to be too many similarities. First Leo's name means Lion (as in the animal). Then she has a similar look to Lion as far as character design. Then to top it off lets make her fighting style Hakkyoku-ken : VF's "hero" character's fighting style. I'm starting to think that there may be some kind of subliminal message behind that character just like Capcom did with Dan. Plus the timing of the announcement with a trailer and all... Namco's probably declaring war or something, either that or I'm on some conspiracy theory shit. I dunno... but to me it looks kinda flagrant.

    Someone posted this on Gfaqs:

    "Leo is female.
    From director talk.
Leo's martial art style is same as akira in VF but with her own
original style added. Leo is made like how paul was made
to attract newbies. (easy moves, juggles?)

There will be more than 2 new characters.

Stages will be very different from previous tekken
and will have lots of strategic usage.

Previous characters will have new moves + renewed motions
to make it feel completely new. (right now the vid seems
to be based on very early build).

Customization will be large and will make character look
completely different from the original looks. Also there
will be different approach to item/ not only the looks
but also something else. (hint: bryan...)"

Some people think that it means items will give defence and offensive boosts. Not sure how well this will sit with the hardcore Tekken players out there.

Tekken 4 system balance is complete shit compared to DR.

DR is the most balanced Tekken yet, any character CAN win.

Also I will second the notion that Leo is a female. They specified Zafina's gender, but in developer interview talks they never specified Leo's... coincidence?

    Hey Tony!

The Lesbian chick in fighting game has already been done /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
    And by Sega nonetheless! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
    Remember Last Bronx?
Remember Nagi? (The girl with sais)
She was attracted to Yoko (the girl with tonfas)
We definitely need a sequel to this game!

The character had an edgy look that would definitely appeal today if a new Last Bronx was released. Sega needs something to compete with Soul Calibur directly...

I wonder why Sega never released a sequel to this game...

Hey, grynn! Omg, you're fucking right. I totally forgot about Last Bronx. That game definitely deserves a sequel. I bet it would kick SC's ass with steel-toed boots on. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif
Lol, a lesbian, sai-toting fighter. Sega's so cool sometimes /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
