Wow, people still make those threads?

T6 doesn't suck, but it's just... more Tekken. It looks and plays exactly like T5 with a facelifting, so if you disliked Tekken until now, you probably won't like this new iteration either.

Me, I prefer pretty much all fighting games before teh big T, but it can certainly be fun to play casually from time to time. Also, Zafina's cool in a wicked way, so that's a bonus.

Visual-wise, it's indeed much more colorful and showy than VF5:R, it has destructible floors and flashes up the bum, and one of its stages looks like something straight from Guilty Gear with Macross Plus music - pretty awesome. Maybe I'd play it a bit more if the locals didn't kick my posterior so badly, there's no "beginner mode" on that one, unfortunately...

Also, I'll be buggered before I actually bother to learn Tekken combos and stuff. But like I said - from time to time, it's fun.

But not changing pretty much ANY char intros/win poses from T4 I think... Namco, wth? It's not so hard to think of a cocky quote, is it??

PS1 sucked for any of the 2d fighters that were out at the time, Sega Saturn had far better ports. Only decent games I remember on PS1 were Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Silent Hill, FF7 and FF9. Seriously hard to think of any more.

Yes and 7995 of them sucked hard.

Actually, Nina wasn't top tier in Tekken 5 DR. It was 5.0 that she was extremely broken. Well, not as broke as Steve but in 5.0, she was considered by many the second best character.

    See? There's proof right there.

How you liking those Kirkman books, fulan?

Oh wait, is this off topic? Does this thread have a topic?

P.S. feck, i'd be curious to know which 5 ps1 games you think didn't suck . . . cause I can think of more than 5 shmups released for it that dont suck, nevermind other genres.

Let's see, there was Final Fantasy VII/IX (it'll be a cold day in hell when I count FFVIII), Pop'n music 3-6 (the first two did kinda suck), and then there was... crap, I'm drawing a blank. ;P It doesn't help that the PS1 had crap for fighters. All the 2D fighters were better on the Saturn, and the 3D fighters were generally pretty subpar when compared to VF2. BTW, did anyone play the Ninku 2.5D fighter that came out for the Sega Saturn? It was suprisingly good for an anime fighter. Not quite VF2, but it's really fun to play, and pretty much no one outside of Japan has even heard of it. I'm thinking of bringing it to the next offline even I go to so I have an excuse to show off my rare Japanese Video CD Card Bundle Sega Saturn. Does this thread even have a topic anymore?

Tekken 6 is online right? I can't wait to see what high-level play is like. I was always the "top dog" @ Tekken in my circle of friends, I've never been able to play someone who can consistently beat me. But.... that's just my circle of friends.

If Tekken 6 is online then I'll get it for sure. If not, I'll probably just rent it to see the CG movies.

    T6?
I was vaguely interested in picking up Tekken some day but every time I pick it up I get annoyed with the pin-point input timing required. Why can't I buffer a few frames ahead for fastest timing? No, every combo has got to be dead accurate, no fuzzy logic, no input buffer. To hell with that, I don't need to constantly fight the controls instead of my opponent.

    FF?
Yuna's lowest on my list of girls from FFX and FFX-2. Well, it's a toss up between her and Rikku for last place. Lulu and (especially) Paine ftw. The other two look nice and all, but that vacuous or ultra ditzy personality? Meh... All four fail in comparison to Quistis Trepe but of course Faris the pirate king/princess rules them all! (Massive FF5 fan here, that was the last FF I really enjoyed.)

    PS1?
    Uhm, Twisted Metal!
Short google trek delivered this (besides what was mentioned above):
FFTactics, Harvest Moon, Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, Persona 1 & 2, Parappa, Castlevania: Symphony of the night, Fear Effect?, Grandia, Soul Reaver, Need for Speed, Gran Turismo, Oddworld, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Spyro, Syphon Filter, Star Ocean, Xenogears
    Take your pick I guess.
