That's what I was talking about earlier today in the shoutbox, it's full of juice but lets see if they actually do everything that's been listed.

Patch is out for testing right now for select people before it is released officially. Word at TZ is that the patch is better than what we have currently but it's still terrible. Worse than SFIV and certainly worse than VF5:Online netcode.

I love how Ghost Mode forces 1st Dan as the highest rank. Namco sucks.

Doesn't really matter as both of them are from another galaxy compared to Tekken netcode..

Jeneric, just curious but are you saying SF4's netcode is better? By "netcode" I'm referring to how well it plays online, and not the bells and whistles in the match finder, etc.

I interpreted (though I could be wrong) Empnova to mean that TK6, which obviously came out after SFIV, and much, much later than VF5, had a chance to improve the standard for online fighting netcode, and it didn't. In other words, VF5 is still up there after all these years.

Let's put it this way, VF5 has the best net play for any 3D fighter period. Nothing else is even close as far as I'm concerned.

T6 probably has the worst net play of any 3D fighter (praying they can fix it with a patch) and is second only to KOF XII in the lag department...

Now that fighters have started to come into the online age, I'm hooked. If the game doesn't play well online it's just a HUGE strike against it for me. I definitely enjoy the way T6 plays but really can't get any good game against a real person at all. This fact has totally sapped my desire to play and practice until if/when it gets fixed...

I will keep my fingers crossed and play Dragon Age until NAMCO can get it together. Here's hoping that they do...

In my (and others I know) experience, SF4 performs much better then VF5 online, yes, and I'm talking about the actual netcode.

I'm not disputing that T6's online is complete ass (I tried it once), but I don't understand the hype for VF5's netcode here (and yes, I read it as Empnova saying VF5 was much better then SF4 online by his use of the word "certainly"). Maybe it's the best 3D fighter online, but if that's the case then it doesn't say much. Using VF5 as the bar for 3D fighting game netcode is just setting it way too low. It's sad that a guy in the US programmed a netcode in his basement that rapes all these "official" fighting game developers efforts.

Lets put it this way, the only netcodes worth mentioning are SF4, VF5, and possibly blazblue, but latter is difficult to measure because it doesnt have any European players yet.

VF5 may not be good, but its better than most every other fighting game online mentioned except the two mentioned above.

I do rate SF4 netcode higher than VF5 too. Im assuming empnova said what he said because he doesn't have much experience from SF4 online but he has from VF5online.

Tekken 6 online patch has been released in Asia and the players' responses have been very positive. The patch will be released tomorrow in the US. Give it a try.

I'm always pleased to hear when a company does the right thing by supporting it's user base. I still intend to play TK6 and give it a chance (not that anyone cares) [IMG]

Anyways, I don't want to side-track this thread any further, but I'm interested in discussing netcode in general so I'll create a new thread.
