Tekken 6BR system

The lousy netcode was giving me an excuse not to pick this up, but if it's fixed... I dunno. How solid/broken is it? As someone who loves VF5, SC1, DOA2; is tepid on BlazBlue, DOA4, SC2, SNK fighters; and hates SC3/4 and pretty much all Capcom fighters; how much do you think I would enjoy it? I liked Tekken Tag alright, but I didn't play it much outside of the arcade, and I have never played any other version of Tekken that much. One thing that bugs me is how some high level matches of Tekken 6 I watched a while back seemed to look like two or three long juggles only interrupted when someone fell to the ground briefly. But maybe that is not typical.

What do you guys think, should I get it?

i tried some rank matches on ps3 i still suck at tekken but at least its not laggy. u have option to cancel a match if connection is bad. i only played against ppl with 4 or 5 bars

 

I played a couple games, words can't explain how much of a improvement's been made, Namco Bravo!

I'm excited to try playing Mackfactor again to compare/contrast the differences.... and Mista Tee, care for two cups of tea with 3 sugar cubes, a hint of honey and perhaps some cinnamon rolls?

 

Finally I can start playing this game again. W/O online a fighter is useless to me, we don't all have the lux of having an arcade around. I'm going to test this out tonight and expect to be happy about it.

Tried a lobby with other finnish players, so far the patch hasnt really changed anything. Random lag and disconnections remain. I havent tried random online opponents yet.

Oddly, ranked is better than player matches. You will literally come across 4-5 bar connections, and when you invite those same people into a lobby, it drops to 2-3 bars.

 

Probably a bug. Connections are peer to peer so it shouldn't make a difference what type of match it is.

 

Well, after hearing some positive impressions and getting a little playtime in at the game shop, I decided to pick this up. It was on sale for Black Friday anyway. So far it's pretty fun, although not as fun as VF of course. But wow, there are so many button mashers online. I just started playing Tekken today for the first time, and I was already kicking the asses of the majority of the people I faced.

 

I finally broke down and got this game. Waiting for it in the mail.

 

Those button mashers were very effective pre-patch, hard to do anything on reaction and your dead. Now with the patch 95% of them are dirt easy, good stuff.

 

Ok now some updated info, qualitywise the patch has improved latencies. Now 4 bars is actually playable. 3 bars is too laggy but isnt the slideshow it was before the patch. T6 online might almost be there with vf5online soon. Plus the added functionality to matchmaking is great.

However, the connection is still liable to randomly disconnect, although the almost consistent synching messages seem to be gone.

Those who have WLan seem to have it bad, I have heard several stories post-patch how someone who has internet via wireless connection shows up as red bars even if they live 5 km away. One friend couldnt get even to character selection before disconnecting and another had massive lag.

I havent faced any of great tekken players online, even players who has higher rank (well my rank isnt that high though), they are mashing buttons or doing same things over and over. (one pattern style)

I'm new to tekken, so i want to play with really high level players, so if you guys know somebody who could train me in tekken, let me know.

Ok, so I've been playing Tekken 6 a lot the past few days... Lei is my main character, but I'm still feeling somewhat scrubbish with him. Anyone know where I can get some help? I could use some advice in all the following areas:

-Best general setups
-Max damage juggles
-Get-up tactics (actually, in general I need to know the best way to avoid getting stuck in another combo when you get up)
-Keep down tactics
-How to make effective use of stances

I got T6 on PS3 and xbox, send me a message asking for games if you want some, Im more on PS side these days. Do not send me friend invites without sending a message first, I just delete them because my friendlists are usually perma-full. Id rather not play T6 on a 3 bar connection or worse.
