NAMCO pleasantly surprised me with their patch for T6 online. They did better than I thought they would and the features are intelligently thought out. The game plays so much better now, there is just no comparison to the way it was pre-patch. The input latency is drastically reduced.

If they had programmed the online modes that way to begin with, on release day, I think they would have had an absolute blockbuster on their hands. The initial state of the online was so bad I think it scared some people away from the game. Hopefully, now that it's truly fixed, word will spread that NAMCO really did repair the netcode quite well.

 

^^ Yeah, i agree, it is actually better. And not just a little bit better but like sex with no condom better. This game is actually playable now...and i havent even lucked into a greenbar connnection yet.

Gernburgs is right namco really slipped up with this one. They lost alot of gamers in the last month due to sad netcode. I would have been one of them too, but, strangely Tekken is the only game that i can get consistent offline comp in. Now all i see are people playing MW2, and im talking about guys who usually play a lot of fighters and have or at least had T6 since launch date.

Been looking to get some T6 sessions in with all u fellow VFers...so hit me up on XBL if u want some games.

for those who has been playing with the new lag patch in place... how is the online experience now?

 

So much better, it's totally playable now.

It's way better than I ever thought they'd be able to pull off and all of the changes seem pretty well thought out. It has great search filters as well...

I've been having playable matches with Glory and Lucky across the coast. 3 bars. Guarding and punishing properly and low parrying too. Breaking throws though? ...yeah we suck at that one anyway.

 

Oh great, now I gotta worry about getting somebody pregnant and catching an STD =/

thanks guys... looks like Namco has just earned the dollars I had set aside for Sega.

 

I don't understand how come Namco didn't notice they have a bad netcode before? Maybe they just did that on purpose in order to earn a positive impression after fixing the connection.

 

They probably just wanted to meet their release date. They put too much time into that stupid Campaign Scenario.

 

yeah i was thinking the same thing. I mean how could they just not notice that their game completly sucked online. I'm pretty sure that SNKP just didnt give a fuck with KOF12...but damn, Namco already had experience with a totally non playable online fighter, SC4. Seems kinda fishy
