T6BR seems way too much of a juggle fest than how i remembered tekken.. the best ones IMO has to be T3 and T5

    Tekken sale

For today only on Amazon.com Tekken 6 is just $20. The LE bundle is $80 for both consoles.

    T6 must have sold terribly.

Yup. srider, Flash, a few others from the FT days (and others I've missed - don't pout)....there's always been a pile of work that goes on in the early and middle days of VF - the issue is that it is typically so spread out and insular that we never get any critical mass or even VFDC heraldship going on so it can get lost. VFDC really needs it's own youtube channel with tutorials on fundamentals, strats, player highlights, tournament vids, etc etc.

honestly, brisal's comment of "someone should do this" (and I'm not picking on you - we all do this) is part of the issue as well. I don't think we're any more time starved than the next fighting game community but we're definitely under-performing on the document side (I think, this comes from a very cursory examination of other sites). Myke opened up the wiki to everyone that wanted to participate and it's still pretty much a ghost town. Everyone wants data, no one wants to generate it. or maybe they lack the tools to move outside of text, or don't feel they are qualified (this is a big one, I think), but for whatever obstacle there is there for one person they reduce in size when there are more people, with more resources.

I think if we moved to a more collaborative framework we could really generate something, and we wouldn't have to wait until VF6 - we could do it right now. for VF5.

    Just sayin'.

I think the work that Srider, Flash, and Myke have done has been great.

I just think the format that these Tekken guys have used is a great and very easy to understand method. Especially for someone that has no idea on how to play Tekken. (like me)

btw $20 = a buy from me, but bad news for Vf5R [IMG]

Tekken by all measures haven't sold as much as Namco had hoped and it is NOT a good news for the VF series. Sure Namco made several serious mistakes with the Tekken 6 port, but if the premier 3D fighter in Japan (and the world) can't sell on consoles, what's the point for Sega to port the VF series to consoles or even continue the series?

Don't feel bad about playing Tekken. At least it will do a little bit to keep the endangered genre alive.

Whats make you think Sega won't release it? Sega will release the damn game trust me. In the mean time finish practicing on the version thats in front of your face right now instead of worrying about (This goes for everybody caue i know i am.). For christs sake VF5R made it to Version c. Version C maore than likely is the final version before console release dating back to VF5. Version D is arcade item upgrades like VF5 which never made to a system so i guess VF5R will have this also and an attract. Sega wants to milk the arcades a little more cause unlike American Arcades in japan's are still booming.

Anyway on topic its not hard to see why Teekn failed...Shit is bullshit honesly. 5 is much better. Nothing new in 6 except for bound. Namco keeps adding mores on these damn character without taking anything away or changing properties around. The same game only shinier and dumbed down for the masses and new-to-series customers.

Because Sega said they aren't releasing it. Pretty simple.

    False.

And trust me, you really don't want to try to start a discussion about it. Just learn more before you speak.

I can't find it. Where is the $20 page?
    Thanks!!

I accidentally find this review on amazon for VF5: [IMG]

This game was terrible, the gameplay was hard the storymode sucked, the combos are terrible, and it's real boaring. This game was a massive breakdown after virtua fighter4 evolution that was the best virtua fighter game but this was a waste of time and money. The customization is not that good, the 2player sucked,[/size] the movement is a little to heavy, i perfer dead or alive4 cause thats more lighter and the attacks are more eaiser then this trashy game. The training did'nt help much just some attacks but then after awhile it was a waste of time being that its hard to even use the great combos, the graphics were good but thats really it. Theres no new characters there all from virtua fighter4 evolution the stages are the same and theres not much to do in this game, so this was a terrible game.

Even if you were serious, I wouldn't blame you. Namco's two biggest failures on T6, IMHO, were 1) not having a tutorial explaining to beginners how to play, and 2) throwing them into the lion's den with decent online, and them feeling absolutely helpless and then bitching online that T6 is all about juggles and walls.

Nah. I'm just particular about misinformation. There are valid arguments against any and every fighting game, and their mechanics, but saying nothing's changed is just false.

It's like saying "nothing changed between VF4 and VF5 or VF5 and VF5R. It's the same ol' VF."

    That's just false.

Nah shit changed Panda but not enough. You may see it more so but i don't really (Other than Bounds and walls). Please for a second don't think im one of those people who can't play Tekken but just wanna rag on it. I knew this game was gonna suffer once it became multi-plat.

I expected a lot from it and i was disappointed. The juggles are cool but its like why do other combo's when i can land the same 80% combo everytime out. Somethings Wrong when Raven can net 90 without a launcher.

LOL!!! Whats Sheet? Tekken 6 is still bullshit whether its has some depth or not. Its just that he was dying to go into it and i was'nt. I can see he wanted to defend Tekken tooth and nail but the premise is still the same.

Tekke 6 (BR) the arcade game is great. I played over 500 matches at CTF and I enjoyed most of them (aside from wins and losses because of rage). Tons of characters, lots of variety, huge expansive move lists (Tekken's deepest aspect), creative customizations, and solid balance (though it could be better). Sure the system isn't VF, throws are weak, the game is extremely combo heavy...but this is Tekken, what did you expect? I'd give the arcade version an 8.5/10 easily.

The console version however is total shit and even some of the veterans at TZ seem unable to defend it despite rabid Tekken loyalty. 576p graphics (wtf?), terrible training mode, locked 1st Dan rank at Ghost Mode (2x wtf?), atrocious netcode for a project that's been in development since forever, scenario campaign (awful), can't use 2P customs, can't select all of the stages (seriously what is up with this?), annoying banner saying what mode you are in (I know I'm in versus mode lol don't need a persistent reminder). The console version, for having to wait that long, is a 5/10.

This is a game that was expected to sell 2.5 million copies before the new year at full price but is being practically given away because people know it's shit.

I honestly can't wait to see the T6BR matches at EVO this July right on the main stage. But this console port is awful.

VF5 PS3 same thing happened. Tons of hype out the door...but then it was released with awful Quest A.I., no tutorials, and no online, and sales were well below expectations.

While Sega sucks more (VF4FT/VF5R) Namco isn't almost neck and neck for fuck ups.
