Me personally I don't like the unblockables or 10-hit strings, but there are some strats/setups for them, especially for julia and wang... I know zafina, and a few other characters use a portion of their 10-hit strings in actual combos... They're primarily there for the casual player... It gives them something to learn that can possibly help them win in a casual match... The rage is kinda dumb, but it can turn the tide tremendously... I think the bind system helps new cats more than the rage system does...

They can keep the tracking moves, but I would say namco should fix the hit boxes though... I know playing with Paul I tend to hit people at times I shouldn't be able to. On the other hand, I do frame traps, and the hitboxes magically create a force field that saves my opponent... Sidestepping is okay... Alot of people tend to rely on just simply sidestepping and not sidewalking, which can evade certain things that ss-ing doesn't...

My fav hands down was T3... There were so many different genres and fusions of genres in many of the songs...

Its a tie between that song, Yoshi's theme, Unknown's theme and the end credits song... Best ending goes to Mokujin...

The arrange of Tekken 2 Paul's theme was best in that game, although Nina's was pretty good too.

Tekken 3's AST was probably the best. So many good tracks. Tag's was decent as well. 4 was not so good, but 5 had a lot of good stuff.

The Tekken 6 OST isn't that great, but at least they had the sense to put "Burning" (the theme from the trailer with Jin riding through the city on the bike) on one of it's 3 discs. Best track of all the 6 ones.

Best ending theme for me is one of Law's or Bruce's themes from 5.

The combos don't bother me that much, its more of the fact that okizeme is likely to follow and the entire round can go down the drain if you eat that 20 second combo for about halfbar and then end at the wall.

Movement/Evading - NAMCO needs to do evades the same way as VF. Otherwise, it's too unreliable and random which makes them much less useful than they should be... Just steal the system from VF, it's vastly superior to NAMCO's "random evade" that makes them garbage. Then they can just do away with the homing/tracking moves altogether and make them half circulars. It's the only way to make the evades better and have an actual system instead of randomness. Beyond that, the movement in VF is much better and more crisp, it's not even close.
    </div></div>
YES, YES!. Tekken's hitboxbased (I think) evade is shit. While I can 'step' around similarly as in VF, the actual evading can be random at times. Whats worse in my opinion, is that because its hitbox-based, you cant evade from disadvantage like you can in VF. My logic kind of says that evade should be a defensive move, not an offensive, but I dont know what you guys think. With Tekken's current system, Im not sure if this is however actually good or bad. I remember previous Tekken where it was so easy just backdash from everything. Maybe changing evade would create another instability.

Unblockables - I think a lot of players want them to just be guard crushes at this point. Speed them up a little bit and make them break guard, but this long wind-up for half your life is really dumb.
    </div></div>
I don't really care. Remembering every of every 41 characters 10-hitstrings is dumber imo.

Rage - Emp Nova shut the Rage system down in a thread on Tekken Zaibatsu... Great post man. Rage doesn't help new players, it hurts them. The "catch-up" type of systems are crap in every genre of game. Reminds me of NBA Jam where it doesn't matter how well you play cause the CPU will just help your opponent catch up. Or when they have it in a racing game and you just go faster when you behind, makes the game worse and less skill-based... It's a bad feature in ANY competitive game IMO...
    </div></div>
Reminds me of need for speed underground where CPU would essentially break the speed of sound on the last lap just to make it more even even if it had fallen 1 lap behind. Rage doesn't bother me that much, but its kind of a silly mechanic.

Too many characters - I somewhat agree with this. At some point you need to stop adding characters and make the characters you have more compelling to play. 40+ guys is a few too many. 20-25 should probably be the absolute maximum in a game like this. It's all string based and the memorization required isn't nuanced in the way it should be so it ends up being bad. It doesn't add that much depth when you're just trying to remember every characters' string patterns, it's not that fun. It does add some depth but not necessarily in a good way IMO. I think 10-hit combos gotta go period. They are a stupid antique game system that ends up just being another cheesy memorization exercise.
    </div></div>

Yes, I agree. Quite frankly, I wish the removal of several old characters by now.

    There's a Zebra?

And when you say Robots do you mean all of them? 'cause Yoshimitsu is pretty much a robot and Bryan is a Cyborg.

Keep mokujin/jack/bryan, throw in one Mishma, one korean, one sister, the old guy, one leopard, and the rest of the cast.

    ----

Scratch that; why gripe if you can just keep playing VF? Fuck Tekken.

Finally got this game. All I gotta so far is I'm loving it, but the wake up game seems so counter-intuitive compared to VF. Press punch to tech roll up, and kick to tech roll down? WTF? And then if you're NOT tech rolling, press punch to roll up, and 2p to roll down.....????? Huh!? Not like it's something that I can't get used to, but they made that shit waaaay more confusing than it had to be.

The terminology they use is kind of weird too. Saying bound when someone slams the floor? And 1 2 3 4 is strange to get used to coming from SF and VF terms. I look at them as directions still ><

Oh and is there any way to get the computer AI in training to do stuff like in VF5 (guard and respond with mid_throw?) I found out how to make them just use one move over and over, which is alright I guess.

I'll hit up online eventually with my Spanish powerhouse Miguel!

Tekken 6 training mode sucks harder than VF5's, if you thought that was possible. But there are still some useful features. Set the CPU to mix up between a mid move (or a mid string) a low move (or a low string) a left throw and a right throw and spend some time practicing defence. (Yes, you can set the CPU to mix up as many moves as you choose.)

SC4's training mode has been the best one of this console gen. It has what Tekken 6, DOA4, and VF5's training mode has. For one thing, it has the record feature, and I think you can pick moves off the movelist for characters to respond with after blocking and after GI'ing and such.

Too bad the game wasnt' all that, it had so much fun potential. Taki, damn, Taki.

I don't think you can make the CPU block THEN respond. If you pick a set of moves for the CPU to do and set it to 'fastest interval' you can have it respond immediately after being hit (see who has advantage or what move will beat their next move) but there doesn't seem to be a way to make it block first before retaliating... Not that I have found anyway.
