    Fucking liar.

    Seriously...

    You make joke.

    People don't like.

    You restate that you joke.

    People still don't like.

You get mad and type lots of words.

    No point to that shit.

    Move on.

All jokes aside though, Tengu's first language isn't English and I think it's causing some serious communication issues.

Lots of complains that I've seen about T6 and 6BR have been about the game. No one likes rage. The community is divided by B! combos. Some people love the long combos and others hate it. Lots of people were not thrilled by the new characters introduced in 6 and BR. The list could go on and on. Some of them are quite warranted (rage) and some come down to simply not liking the new direction that the series has taken. 6BR in my opinion is the worst Tekken for its time.

However the complaints about Namco's handling of T6 and 6BR are numerous and on the mark. No console release of T6 right off the bat is a disgrace (hello VF5R). 6BR coming out very late and then having T7 be announced before T6 or BR gets even one year of being featured at EVO is horrible timing for the international community. Then you have T6 console advertising budget being enormous and the game failing to sell even half of its copies at standard retail price. Someone posted at TZ that Harada's son was almost fired from Namco to send a message to him that 6BR was not handled properly. Not a surprise.

Factor in that the development team was supposed to handle just one port (PS3) but then was split into two teams when the 360 version was announced and you can see why the game isn't optimized for either platform (576p graphics lol). Terrible online. No 2P customs. Ghost mode being locked at 1st Dan or whatever. Scenario Campaign...there are lots of console problems. Namco was supposed to patch some of them but they never did. Disastrous handling of the community all around. Sadly still better than Sega though.

And lots of people are saying that Tekken 7 being announced this early is an admission that T6 and 6BR were failures. Not true at all. I posted on SRK several months ago that Tekken 7 was going to be announced before EVO, and that it would be in arcades around Christmas. The timeline for Tekken 7 was set quite some time ago. Even if 6BR destroyed console sales records Tekken 7 would have been announced just the same.

Other rumors floating around is that this game is going to be tag format or even be called TTT2. Basically like 6BR with a new engine and tag style. I haven't heard any reliable sources about that so it's all just speculation. One possibility is a 1v1 format being the default and a tag format being included in the arcade game in the test menu so operators can switch between T7 1v1 and T7 as a tag game.

The thing I have heard from a reliable source is that Namco is considering releasing a barebones port of the game very close to the arcade release. So basically a port of just arcade mode, versus mode, and an options menu (and probably online functionality). That would be for T7 Vanilla. Then for the update (T7BR or whatever) they would hold back and do a big console release with all of the special features and do a longer development cycle. That would certainly be better than no T7 on console and having to wait for T7BR forever.

Lemme guess, you're a Yoshimitsu player??? You can say that crap about any fighting game. Magneto was top in the games he was in, Ken's been top in several, Tecmo ninjas of course, Gren Kuts in both Tobals, everybody plays Kyo in KOF, I'm pretty sure even VF had at least 1 character who was considered "top". Every fighting game has tiers/matchups/whatever. Not trying to sound mean but when it comes to fighting games and "tiers", suck it up and adapt or gtfo homie.

You obviously must play with a bunch of whack scrubs who play on pad with nubs. Feng, Xiaoyu, non-mashing Lars, non-mashing Chreddies, and a bunch of other characters have mind game potential. Man, that fuckin' bear in Fighters Megamix has serious mind game potential. The mind game comes from the player not the character. The mind game itself shows how colorful and situational your game is overall... Saying only this or that character has serious mind game potential is like saying a piano is only meant for classical music, when its capable of more, depending on who's playing it...

    ...welcome back...??? [IMG]

    none taken!

but do you really feel comfortable basing your entire gameplan around fifth grade schoolyard shit? it's 2010 man, not 1996; people travel and bet money to prove their skill now, so why should people be left to figure out the rules of the game on their own when there's other games that are just as good (if not better) that you can read up on?

like, what if you never played chess before, your opponent refused to tell you the rules, and every time you made an illegal move you lost a piece?

VF-players are pretty open with in-depth knowledge of the game if you just ask.. I have noticed it isn't quite the same in 2D-games..
Personally if I dont answer quickly on some question it means I dont know the answer...Im not holding stuff back.

Considering that I didn't start really paying attention to the wiki on this site until almost 2 years in. Yes, I am comfortable with that. Actually if you're considering having information that someone else doesn't "fifth grade bullshit" then every VF player on this site who plays someone uninformed is on that fifth grade bullshit. (IE anyone who beats me is officially in elementary school since I don't know shit for frames despite reading up)

Granted there are people who only play people who can play to some extent.

Believe it or not some elite players still save that shit for nationals. Fifth grade bullshit = tactical advantage. Do people take advantage of others ignorance in fighting games? Ever heard the phrase, "If they can't stop it, keep doing it."

Essentially if the don't know how to stop it, keep doing it.

    Its the same shit yo!

what i meant by schoolyard shit was hearsay and speculation- like what i get when i ask what moves crush low in tekken.

remember that kid who told you that if you beat the elite four 999 times with a level 1 rattata, professor oak would open up the back door in his lab and you'd fight him for a mew?

that kid is 99% of the people on tekkenzaibatsu.

edit: woah, my bitching led to someone being productive on tz?

nodalls, why aren't you in charge of a guide/wiki there?

I was told if I show Bill a level 100 Eevee, Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon that he'd let me in his back garden where I could catch the starters and Pikablu.

Once I had caught Pikablu I was to show it to Oak and he'd trade me a special Nidoking that could push that truck next to the S.S. Anne an d I'd get Mew.

    It didn't work.

and if anyone thinks i'm exaggerating about just how little info there is on tz, see for yourself.

    compare these:

http://dustloop.com/guides/bbcs/ (work in progress but still rather robust)

there's nothing here i couldn't have found in an ign review or in the manual. :\

and of course there's the forums, but the signal to noise ratio there is horrendous.

I think that the reason people arent holding stuff back in VF is because we dont have enough money tournaments where such things would matter. If there were, I guess it would be different.

I remember back when I was in Cologne WCG tournament, Danny and Tetra switched to Kage against Adamyuki cause they had noticed a weakness in Adam's play, they didnt tell me what that weakness was however. I guess there is some stuff you dont tell everybody in tournaments.. [IMG]

In Amsterdam Jeneric and Bob sat down with me and MonkeyPunch for over an hour and went through stuff we could do to improve our games.

Flash has given me over an hour of his time as well on XBL.

I'm of the opinion that VF players are just nicer in general [IMG]

Tekken does seem a lot more analogue than other games though. Characters are often off centre as well, which can make hitboxes more inconsistant than they should be. I suppose this would make testing more difficult.
maybe that's why we see less stuff for the game.

I've done that before. I read a post that you dismissed as a joke. I read the responses. I made a suggestion. You rejected it.

Then you did something I thought was unique and cool. You recognized that things weren't working out the way you wanted and you left. Honestly, I think it takes a mature person to do that. I was going to miss your unique "sexy boy" catch phrase and I figured that was a necessary cost.

    And then you came back.

    And there was anger.

    And there was finger-pointing.

And all I can gather is that you want people to accept your actions and way of thinking without question... "I WAS JOKING! THAT MAKES IT OK! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?"

I don't think you want to be enlightened. I think you want me to see things only your way. Sorry. I do not.

Because I do enough work as it is, compared to the amount of free time I have.

Completed the sidestepping tier list. I can also post scans of the low crush timings from arcadia, if you actually want them.

Good luck landing that with 2 active frames [IMG]

If you're feeling that lucky you should try OS [6][6][P]: it has 1 more active frame, it's faster so you can time it better and it also recovers faster in case your oppoenent doesn't use a rising kick at all. As long as you don't use it against an opponent in a FAFT position you trade a potential takedown for a potentiel side/back crumple.

Maybe we could move this to the vanessa subforum, compile the list of 21+ damage moves and test them? For example [4] [1] [2] [3] [6] [P] sways back a bit and sometimes beats mid rising kicks, irrespective of the timing [IMG]
