For it to work well, I think it would have to be a completely unique game, kinda like how TvC is. The characters would probably have completely different move sets.

Would you guys want the tekken system of "you can keep hitting your opponent if they stay on the ground", or would you guys prefer the vf system of a "few hits here and there as long as there is a leg flop"?

**I hope I explained that properly" lol. if not, someone should know what I am talking about. hahaha

Well also megamix had Janet and Siba as well. Plus it had the cookie stages from sonic fighters. They made changes to the VF characters with FV counter system.

    Extra Tidbits:

If I do recall FM was just Sega running a test to see if they recreate model 3 animations on the saturn. This game was also a precursor to the Dreamcast. Remember Project "Dural"? Beat the game and you get a pic of Dural in front of a PCB. Ah the memories. Makes me miss Blast city forums [IMG]

I would pick up a Tekken vs VF game day 1 sans voir.

Things are looking pretty bleak right now for VF. Top player win rate is down to 70% (remember when it was 90%?), which indicates to me that only the core is left in Japan.

A VS game, even one which pisses off everyone on VFDC, will be good for us. Everyone will buy it. It will make the big tournaments. Sega will decide to release a new VF for console willy nilly.

And if it turns out to actually be a good game? Fucking c'mon, you know you want Akira to SPoD with lightning!

I would be interested. I think it could work if each company made there own versions instead of merging the two systems together.

It has the potential to be a very good came and it's extremly unlikely it'd turn out awful, also I can't imagine there being a fighting game fan out there that would be unwilling to touch a Tekken vs VF game.

SPoD with the lightning. That actually sounds cool. What if it had Tekken fx.

Well considering that Akira has lightning wrist bands in VF5R for customizations there really isn't a major difference between VF5R customizations and Tekken's special effects.

The funny thing is we're all assuming that if such an abomination was made, we'd even get the chance to play it!

Fuck that and give me R instead.

If Tekken vs Virtua Fighter generated enough money and interest for 5R I'd say bring it on. And there's no way a Tekken game would remain arcade exclusive.

I would definitely be interested. I dont think it would be hard to translate VF moves/combos to the Tekken left and right punch system. The blocking would be the biggest hurdle IMO.

There's no reason why they can't implement both input systems using a single joystick and 4 buttons. If you choose a VF character, then you get G, P, K expected, and the 4th button will be non-functional.

Don't you think it would be better to have two separate games each with its own fighting system? Similar to what Capcom/SNK did?

I don't see why they should try their best to implement each games system at all, if they do that it's going to be very hard to make it work.

Surely they can work out something that doesn't rely on the mechanics of either game, as long as it's still fun and we get the moves we're familiar with i'd be happy.
