I'm pretty set to go, and i'm sure Willie is going too. These meets are too much fun not to go. I might bring in a new guy too.

Since all the new people seem to be tekken players, I think it would be cool if we had one TTT machine again : )

hmmmmmm... well, for starters, might not want to click the post button so many times... and secondly, I am definately not a Tekken player hahahaha.

On another note, I hope I bring my A game this upcoming Friday. Been playing a lot and am happy to say that I have seen some improvement in my game. I just hope I'm good enough to not get completely mopped. However. since joining the boards and reading some of the material posted on this site, i've acquired much better game fundamentals and immersed myself much deeper into the mechanics of VF.

forget tekken....waste of space. Plus we should have a ton of people. So we probably need as many VF setups as possible...and yes I will bring my tv.

Now that's good news. More TVs equal more set-ups.

To everyone: If you can bring equipment - PS2s, sticks, Evo discs, TVs (especially TVs), do it. Better the stuff sit in your car unused than back at your place when we need it.

Sorry, Reno and I didn't end up making it. I've had a sleep-deprived week, Reno was tired from E3, and Riverside seemed too far after driving from Irvine to LA in rush-hour traffic. Hope you guys had fun!

Also, Catherine and I seemed to have magically aquired an additional Blue Evo Stick with wear marks near the buttons. We'll keep it safe till the next meet or ship it to its rightful owner - whichever is preferred.

On that note, thanks for bringing your equipment. We had three VF4Evos, a VF3tb (DC), and a TekkenTag running. Plenty of PS2s and sticks for everyone.

Extra big thanks to LPC73, PhoenixDth, and Mindscan for bringing televisions. Very cool of you all to support to that degree.

 

as a side note - i think some people remaining might of been looking at mook that might of belonged to spotlite bryan. Bryan you might want to check your bags to see if you got it with you.

Wanted to thank Plague again for holding the meet last night it was really cool getting to meet most of you guys.

Unfortunately I didn't get to play against everyone, but I did get some games in w/: Pheonix Dth, Plague, LPC, Spotlite, Goat Cheese Blues, Ken I, and Silly Willy. Thanx for the games guys, helped my game out a LOT.

 

On behalf of myself and Zero I would like to apologise for not being able to make it, really long story I might tell someday when im not at a Manhattan cybercafe lining up Stelios pockets with even more money.

Shou, consider yerself lucky we didnt make it bitch.

 

Damn... if I was actually able to predict what would have happened this week, I probably would have bought a ticket and come on down. Great players and great games (VF4evo AND VF3tb in one spot!!! Hell yeah, I'd like to be there!). I miss playing some serious VF3tb (though it takes me like 20 minutes to get used to all over again, at least).

Glad everything went well guys. Hope the Tekken players enjoyed their time as well.

Sorry that Fishie and I were unable to make it in the end. It turned out the Plague's place was ungodly far from where we were staying (about an hour and a half drive each ways), and that total cab fare would have been around $200. That's a LOT of cash. Plus, I had to catch a train to the Bay Area at 10:15AM the next day (where I'm located at the moment), and Ali had a noon plane... so we wouldn't have been able to stay too long anyway. I apologize for anyone who was expecting us and was disappointed, but it was pretty much unavoidable.

I do have some E3 impressions and interviews coming, though, if that might make up for it...

 

I can see how that cab fare would scare you away.

In the future (Evo2k4), if you can do it, car rental is the way to go. Enterprise or similar can usually rent you a Kia Rio for, like, $19 to $29 a day - unlimited miles.
