In what way am I generalising the UK scene tho?

I never said there are UK players who don't enjoy both games...I play both, I play Tekken just for a laugh. In fact I play dozens of games (GG, KoF, SF...) as do those in our group yet I considered myself a VF(/old SF2) player as it's the main thing I play.

I was speaking of the more established names on here in general, not about solely the guys in UK. So, ok, I was maybe generalising the online VF community here but it's obvious that there is no love lost for Tekken from most of the regulars here (apologies if you think I'm generalising you), regardless of where they are in the world. Just check that recent thread about T5 v VF4Evo or whatever it is. In fact I even know "Tekken" players (in the sense that it's their main game) who appreciate that VF is a more balanced game and you don't get bs happening all the time.

If there are so many (UK now) VF guys on here who play Tekken well why don't they rep at the RBs? If there are Tekken players who play VF why don't they rep at VF RBs?

What is it that don't I know about the UK scene and that makes me unfamiliar to it? It's possible (no offence) I know more about the UK Tekken scene than you do and I don't even take it seriously, I just follow it. Currently Tekken5/DR and 3S are huge up and down the country. You only need to look at the RBs, TZ and recent tournies/snakepits etc to realise that. Am I missing something? Are you saying I don't realise this or are you saying this isn't true and in fact everyone is playing something else?

But yes, the aim of playing is to have fun, regardless of what it is you play.

What I meant from knowing the scene was just in the context of being an active participant in terms of attending torni's, meets, arcade sessions etc and knowing which individual likes which game , why they play it etc. (I don't btw lol)
I just got a pet hate for generalisation is all *Shrug* ,

Also on the point that your good at one game it shouldn't stop you from doing other things, like the chibita example you gave,
I mean if yoru gonna take this point to it's logical conclussion why do anything else your not better at..

Yeah but that's the thing, I do follow the fighting game scene in the UK fairly closely...for example in 3S, Raju (Urien player) is currently winning the RBs league with about 60 odd points and only a few more RBs to go in the season. He was recently over in Germany with a team (in fact 2 UK teams were over there, both ended up playing one another unfourtunately). Ryan, Dukus and Yusuke all competed in France a couple of weeks ago in both single player and team battles in 3S, as well as going to the aforementioned Germany 3S tourney (with Hatim).

After some discussion with golden gunman we're looking into holding 3S RBs up here, even getting the local/only arcade interested cos of the amount of players here.

About Tekken, just recently Dinosaur won the T5 UT6 tourney in France with Raven and Ryan came third behind Devil Kazuya. Mike (who came joint 5th with StarScream) and Chef went over as well as fastlegs, Masamune and others.

I actually ran the T5 manchester regional tourney in the Trafford Centre back in Feb over a year ago.

Casino now has T5:DR in with decent sticks so DR tournies are starting to be organised.

Nottingham now has T5:DR so heads from birmingham etc are heading up there sometime to check it out.

Do you mean this kinda stuff? Did you think I didn't have a clue about what else goes on in the UK with regards players and games?

As for meets, we've been having meets in my flat since Christmas. In fact we had a 3S meet yday with heads from here and the local arcade and it was the 11th meet we've had in 2006!

Yeah, I've not yet travelled to a RB but that doesn't mean I know nothing about the UK scene here in general.

tbh yeah, I hate generalisation too (I must admit my whole "people on here don't likeTekken" kinda came from nowhere I was just making vocal the vibes that are hanging around the place) but then haven't you just generalised me because you don't think I know about the UK scene cos I live up here in Manchester and haven't travelled down to London for meets? Is that what you were getting at?

The reason I replied in the first place was cos I was just annoyed with the noob atitiude of "OMG Chibita pwns at VF he must be god of all hte fighing games eva11!".

No I didn't think you didn't have a clue on the scene as anyone who can read online can gather whats going on from the various message boards.
Altough this information often gets out late:
for example casino have had dr for ages now.
Funnily enough I go to that arcade...
What I was kinda saying was you were generalising about the London scene (uk was the wrong word then) when your not part of it.
I'm not generalising about you now knowing about the london scene,
I know you as an individual are not part of it,
it's not generalisation as I don't see you at casino, troc, friday nights rb's etc

Anways petty point making aside it would be nice to see more of you northern dude's down here once you have your rb's setup, or have some other national type event again.

Haha, yeah but I didn't say "Casino has just got DR" did I? It's been out for around a month now or so hasn't it, cos players sacked off going to the last T5 RB and went to play DR as far as I know.

I just wanted to point out that, even tho lots of players around London/Birmingham/wherever won't have a clue who I am, I know who they are and chances are I'll probably have seen their vids/discussions whatever online.

But yes, I'm currently in the process of rounding up as many north based fighting game players as possible and getting feedback from them as to what kinda games they would want to play at an RB if we went about organising one. There's easily around 20-30 regular arcade goers in Manchester (probably only around 4 VF players, typical) and I've been discussing things with people from Newcastle, Bradford, Liverpool, Leeds all over just getting people up for proper offical tournies up here.

With any luck we'll be moving things off the ground within a couple of months.

And once they're up and running, there's every possibility for annual north south meet ups (that won't get buggered up this time!).
