The Japanese Lesson Thread: Post yer ?'s

That is a tricky one. I don't want to discourage anyone, but it could likely haunt you for a while. Even today I often have to sound those words out. Better than before, but every now and again, the whitey in me pops out.

My suggest would be to find a lot of words that are similar, but some have the long vowel sounds while others don't. Basically just say them over and over. The trick is, if you say something and the person doesn't understand you, to sound it out, you would literally say each syllable with with a pause inbetween.

Remember that DVD I ripped a long time ago? Kakutou Seiki 1.... it was actually called "Houou Tanjou". Houou was the rank that Napoleon got for winning. To pronounce it, you'd have to say "Ho"-"u"-"o"-"u". The - is a pause. Words like that get tricky. when it comes down to it... it's just practice I guess.

Negative.No kanji because hayabusa is saying that in DOA2-DOA3.
So if I cound write jap on my PC I would write hiragana.

 

Aaah... which part is it in? I've got DOA3... would have to dust it off to pop it in.
Perhaps I can find it on the net which might be easier.

FYI - fighting game lines are generally "out of the norm" making them hard to understand for white people such as me.

Also - you need to set your browser to Shift-JIS encoding when you post Japanese... otherwise it can't be read.
