Terry and Kyo Lacking in the Costume departedment?
LOL!!!! Terry's outfit is More Iconic than Iori's.
Kyo outfit represented him at was he was at the time a School kid before he went into "Hiding". Hint "Neo Kyo" Expressed him being more older and up to date.

Since he became "Neo" he got most of his New special moves animtaions from Haiji from "The Fallen Angels/Daraku Tenshi",K whole design come from character aptly named "Cool" when the developers moved to SNK.

Terry Bogard = Flagship SNK character Period.

Terry outfit had to change because MOTW was about 11 years later becaue he was alway 23 in his KOF and FF incarnates and in MOTW he's 35. Ironicall enough Terry outfit is a Rip-off of Ken's street clothes and haircut.

I recalled that there were a number of polls on char. popularity etc.

    ...just searched the net:

    SNK USA 2005 poll:
    Terry - 1st
    Kyo - 6th
    Iori - 8th

Gamest Game Hero Collection 1997 vote (Jap mag):
    Iori - 1st
    Kyo - 2nd
    Terry - 8th

Thing is that the Gamest Hero Collection vote was based on the magazine's staff selection, and surely the staff is less than the USA SNK fans that voted in the poll.

...so Overfiend is probably not full of BS XD

nways, SNK character design rocks in general

Don't NEway the facts it because you're Full of BS XD. Know your Facts Soldier. Iori outfits to the Red shirt is more Symbolic of "The Riot Of Blood" Mode he goes in. Beside he all about Bloodshed so red would be the ideal since you would really notice it.

For all the Crybabies. Iori outfit Changed Now shut the Fuckup. Great post. The best Hand drawn animation evah? I still don't know about that but they are up there with the best of em though.

I still see major problem that needs to be adressed though in this latest updated.

terry is huge! I would have liked the characters to not be a bulgy as they are.

They seem to want the American to appear way bigger with Americanized clothing while the Japanese Characters have a Japanese Metrosexual look about them (Look at Kyo,Iori, Benimaru and Ash.) becaue the actual dressed out for a night on the town. They Lack Musclular detail also.

I don't like Terry being so huge but it almost like his Real Bout look.

The game is an updated version of garou mark of the wolves in appearance. Capcom stealing Snk's design would've shown their incompetence.

True when in actuality MOTW was made to Mimic SF3 fluidity.
SF3 still is the most fluid game of them all. The only thing is SF3 sprites are not Hi-Res since it was'nt made in the HD era.

When a Game company makes make a 2-D sprite Like Makoto with over 800 pieces of animations then i'l give up the crown.I understand why Capcom said 3-D was the only way to go.They haven't rule out Darkstalkers receiving a a Hi-Res makeover either.

Wasn't Art of Fighting 3 one of the games with the most animations - not saying the most fluid - but I remember it having something like 24 frames/sec?

You misunderstand me; I'm not disputing the iconic value of Terry and Kyo, rather it's their costumes' ability to survive the various changes in fashion that have spanned the series' lifespan. My point was that Terry's cap, sports jacket and converse sneakers aren't as hip as they were back in the early nineties; steps were taken to update him somewhat by updating the cut of his jeans but for the most part his look still remained dated until SNK introduced his MOW look.

The same goes for Kyo; the white headband gloves and open buttoned school uniform are iconic but they're just as dated in this day and age.

Iori on the other hand, as a character, hasn't faced the same complications in design that the others have; his (now old) look has safely remained on the fringe of fashion and allowed him to remain unchanged for the past thirteen years or so. Though I'm intrigued by his new look in XII I still think SNK could've of gotten away with keeping him in the same gear unlike Kyo and Terry whose clothing says too much about the era they were inspired in.

KoF 12 becoming more like Garou2 makes sense, and it's like a wet dream for all SNK fans.

And really, no point in judging a game by the frames of animation, because SNK games will never be like Capcom, they are too fast.

I am not trolling, 3rd strike is beautiful in motion, but I rather play KoF98!

Any fucking Day of the week.

Understand where your coming from. That why i was suprised they reused Terry old out fit instead of his older look. I still prefer Kyo's White Jacket with the Black shirt from 2000 over his 2003 outfit.

I think a baseball cap and converses is a timeless look that is very midwestern american more than anything else. (minus the converses)

I think terry has always looked super-fly, I'd be afraid of his style changing too much. The hat and shoes are just too iconic of him.

Iori on the other hand does look good in his new stuff, though I will miss the attached kneecaps by a string haha.

Where would you rate Chaos Breaker? The animation in this game looks almost as good as anything I've seen.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjEY20TRHXU&feature=related

Chaos Breaker, 3S, Garou and KOF12 all look a step above the rest in terms of 2d animation. Blazeblue might have the best backgrounds.
