Keep it up and good luck, Aya!

BTW, I'm just taking a guess here, but you get a multiple-characters-in-one deal with Denkai. While he's known for Jacky, I swear that guy knows his other characters ^_^

Also have to give a big shoutout to Goat Cheese Blues for his Sarah! Smiling, nice, even humble... and easy to overlook that this guy really knows his stuff because he's... always smiling, nice, and even humble :p

I see what you did there. I figured it was you who put my name in here and mislead the OP. Bad Kamais.

    Really nice Chibi!

Question though, why is there breaks in-between where no sound can be heard? I think this is when you're asking them the next set of questions, in which case I can't hear you, only plague and cozby.

edit - this seems to be only the first few minutes, rest of the podcast seems to be fine!

Talk to Reno about Taka. Seriously.

Talk to Kobi about Aoi, too.

Not yet, I want to talk to myke here about possibly having VFDC host the podcasts? Would be much easier but that is up to him

Hey Chibiaya, I love the initiative you've shown and hope that you continue with the "Inside the mindset" series. [IMG]

The issue Unicorn raised regarding your voice coming out of the left channel, and your guests' voice in the right still persists. If I can be brutally honest, I find it quite annoying to listen to this, and the previous podcast, with my headphones (I usually listen to podcasts while in the gym). If it were any other subject, I probably wouldn't have listened to the whole thing. If you could rectify this by the next podcast, that would be awesome.

I think Marly mentioned this before, but you should try to cut down on those moments where you talk over the guests. As an example, I think you spent 3 whole minutes (33:00 ~ 36:00) talking about your annoyance with relating a real life fighting mindset to a game. Some may find this interesting, but others may find this as an unnecessary rant. Resist the urge to soapbox! [IMG]

Try to stick to a fixed structure, format and length of time. For example, around half way through the podcast, it sounded like you were wrapping things up, asking what was supposedly the last question. But then you got completely sidetracked, and the podcast stopped being about the mindset of Akira players, and instead was about general VF discussion. When you tend to waffle, or when it sounds like you're just thinking on the spot, I started to lose interest.

I think the term "podcast" kind of carries with it some kind of expectation. Now, this isn't a complaint, and probably stating the obvious, but the production value is very low. I'm not sure if you have the capability, but a small amount of editing would go a long way to improve the quality of your production. Right now, I'm guessing that what we're getting is the unedited, raw recording. It pretty much sounds like we're listening in on a really long phone conversation.

Two examples to help with the production value that quickly come to my mind:

    1. A bit of intro and outro music is probably something easy to do and adds a lot of polish. Along with that, try to have standard opening and closing words. Do you have a running sheet, or schedule, written down? Often it sounds like you're just trying to recall things from memory. When you do this, you're wasting the audience's time and wearing on their patience.

    2. You probably could have split the hour long podcast into two podcasts: the first podcast being the mindset of Akira, and the second (bonus!) podcast about general VF stuff with Plague and Cozby. I'm sure people would still listen to both, but it's just easier to digest that way, and also makes it clear to the audience what they're getting into before they commit an hour (or whatever) of their time. I was thinking we'd be treated to an hour's worth of some good Akira juice, only to find that the juice contained 50% water!

Last thing I want to mention, and PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, but could you refrain from using "VFDC Podcast" as the title of your podcast series?

Firstly, you didn't ask for permission so having it appear as the official podcast for the site is kind of a misrepresentation. I appreciate that you may not have intended it to be received this way, but that's how it appears to me.

Secondly, and more importantly, I would prefer if you just gave it a unique title for which you should (rightly) take all credit for, rather than have it brandished as VFDC. The same would then equally apply to anyone else wanting to produce a VF related podcast -- it wouldn't make sense for all of them to be "VFDC podcasts". However, I'd be happy for VFDC to appear as a sub-title or in the detailed description of the podcast in the capacity of an affiliate.

Again, please consider the above as constructive feedback given in the hopes of improving the quality of future podcasts! Looking forward to the next episode! [IMG]

Well, um. I didnt know i had to ask permission to do that but, I will change the titles to show that I am in no way affiliated with VFDC. Didn't mean to put that out there. My apologizes.

As for the remembering bit, I was dead tired and we did that podcast at like midnight. But you are right and I will work on that in the future.

The sound issue I'm not entirely sure how to fix, but I will work on it. I will work on making it a bit more professional but honestly, I am stretching my time as it is. I would much rather someone else do this but Brisal hasn't been doing his podcasts and I figured I would just do it myself.

I appreciate the suggestions and I will work on all of these things. Hopefully it will not suck in the future. Thank you for taking the time to listen and critique.
