Stomps to me always made more sense than soccer kicks...but yeah, the pageantry was awesome. The weight classes made no sense lol.

 

Depends on the positions of both guys. Stomps take more time to execute, since you have to bring the foot up then back down. Also if the guy's face was downward, you couldn't use a stomp on him.

But stomps are more powerful to be sure.

Yeah. If I had to pick between knees to the head, stomps, and soccer kicks, I would go with knees without a second thought. Knees change the way you shoot in, the way in which you turtle, what you can do from side control and attacking the back.

I think Machida either wins a convincing decision over Evans, or wears evans down and the fight is stopped in non-spectacualar fashion.

Oh absolutely. But I think DREAM still allows the knees to a downed opponent, but no organization still lets you do all three. And really... why pick? lol

 

I think Pancrase still allows you to do all three.

nice to hear from eloquent people who are encouraging kids to fight. The last point really is one of the most important ones.

Can't remember if this was posted yet or not. a buddy of mine, John Naylor, used to use these kicks in point tournaments all the time and I hated that because it looks so ineffectual and stupid even if it meets the criteria for a point. looks like they hurt as well!

I got my e-money on Machida and Serra. Machida by decision and Serra by sub in the third.

 

Tony - I have Machida by K.O late in the 3rd...Serra by Sub in the 2nd. If it goes to the 3rd, I don't see him keeping up with Hughes.
