Shogun said it best: if it goes to a decision, and it was a close fight, the W "should" be awarded to the fighter who was pushing the pace.
That first fight was too close to give it to Machida who did not even score more points than Shogun. The whole judging system should reward aggression instead of backpedaling.

Yes! Finally somebody figured out how to knock out Macheetah, lol.
I'm not making excuses for the guy cuz I don't really like his style but Lyoto did not look like his usual self. It could've been physical (hand surgery, etc.) but I think it may have been mental. Lyoto's confidence level was pretty high before the first time he fought Shogun but I think that regardless of what he was saying, how he thought he had won the first fight, he knew deep down inside that Shogun beat him that first time.
That's just speculation cuz I really don't know what was wrong with him but he really didn't seem to be as confident/focused/engaged as he normally is during a fight.

I'm sure he will get a rematch eventually... but hopefully not before Rampage gets his rematch against Shogun if he beats Evans.

Alright, so Rampage is my favorite fighter but cheese and rice man, I don't go yelling the guy's name while two other men are fighting. What the fuck is up with all of the GSP fluffing lately?
    "GSP! GSP! 2KG! GSP!"
Lmao, they yelled that shit during Koscheck's fight, they yell it when Anderson isn't giving a good performance, I mean, I know this time they were in Canada but still... really? GSP is a really awesome fighter and all but... must GSP fanboys swing from his nuts like Tarzan even when he's NOT in the fucking cage? C'mon son!

Speaking of Koscheck... damn I really don't like that guy... MAJOR douchebag.
But still, Daley *smdh* that was just ridiculously idiotic [IMG]

YES! Go Shogun. That was awesome.

as for Kimbo....'bout time. hopefully he can take another beating and then disappear (or just forgo the next beating and skip to the disappearing). Too bad Mitrione was gassed out sufficiently that he couldn't properly finish a sleeping Kimbo.

    oh, and:

    daley out!

best decision ever. nice to see assholes ruin themselves by being assholes.

The phantom knee was too bad but nothing made me laugh more than watching Daley in pre-fight say Div-1 wrestling wasn't shit in the UK and then get smothered by said wrestling for 15 minutes. people like Hardy and Daley get a little too far with the laughable premise of "I just need to hit cleanly once in X minutes". While true, things change pretty fast when you go against a fighter that can ensure that doesn't happen.

also: Dana could not WAIT until he had any excuse to toss Kimbo and I, for one, am glad.

I think it was just frustration. I wanted Kimbo to win , i wanted Daley to win and i wanted Machida to win....damn lol. Not taking anything away from Shogun but i think the hype of the fight may have got to Machida a bit and also because shogun still had the hunger for the belt. Machida will come back a lot stronger after his first loss! Even the best lose to become better!

Jason MacDonald got his leg snapped in half during his match with John Salter, much like Joe Theismann's leg when he was taken to the turf by Taylor.

I think Machida just does not handle getting hit hard very well. He got so used to not getting whacked in the skull that it was a shock. It was great to see him be able to change his gameplan and do some takedowns. To bad he didn't focus more on some wrestling.
Daley was a cocksore for the sucker punch and Kockcheck is just a big of douche for faking that crap. But yeah, Koscheck proved what I've always said - that wrestling is the most fundamental skill in fighting.
Hrmm, what else. Mitrion had Kimbo's number. You know, I feel bad for Kimbo. He worked hard as hell, tried his best, and got beat. I think him getting cut for one bad showing is very harsh.
    Sam Stout got rocked.

It was not one bad showing. He had one good win his entire (short) career with the UFC. All that aside, Dana White presented Kimbo a challenge to fight his way into the UFC by way of TUF: Heavyweights. Kimbo lost his fights. Dana White MORE than kept up his part of the agreement, and it was Kimbo that failed to perform in TUF and win the contract. By sheer grace, Dana White allowed Kimbo to fight as a headliner in a UFC event.

Yeah, I really think you can't give Kimbo any more chances. Unless he fights his way up through some independent promotions, like everyone else did.

So I'm watching some old fights of Anderson to see just how good he would fare against Shogun (in case that fight ever happens) and I can't help but lmao when the crowd (in Canada again, go figure, lol) starts to chant GSP out of nowhere [IMG]
Seriously, what the hell is going on over there? I know it's not ALL Canadians, but how did GSP's name even come up during that particular fight? They weren't chanting it during the other fights on that card. It's funny how they really think that GSP is a better fighter and/or can beat Silva.

Maybe they're just pissed that GSP is not considered as good as Anderson Silva [IMG]
I'm just really curious. At this point I'm finding the chants of GSP while he's not even in the ring, more annoying than when people boo just because the fighters aren't banging each others brains out.
At one point they started chanting "Bullshit" (which somehow was better [IMG]) and as I'm watching the fight again, I noticed Anderson Silva was engaging, connecting and pushed the pace for most of the fight. It was Leites who would keep getting on his back like a turtle. Silva should def work on his GnP some more but at this point, I'm wondering which style is more boring:
a)Keep taking an opponent down, keeping him there but not doing anything substantial other than takedowns
    or
b)Keeping it standing the whole time while very carefully picking your shots but never really pushing to completely end the fight.

Anderson's a counterhit fighter and if his opponent isn't coming towards him and/or really attacking, Anderson tends to be too tentative and timid at times. I may be wrong but I don't think Anderson is as good at taking the fight to his opponent as GSP and Shogun.

I think that Shogun has a way better shot at beating Anderson than GSP.
I don't think GSP wouldn't be able to keep Anderson down and GSP's jujitsu isn't as good as Anderson's.
On the other hand, Shogun's jujitsu and striking is better than GSP's.

So, even though, if I had to choose, I would want to see Shogun/Silva happen over GSP/Silva... it would still be good to see Silva beat GSP in Canada and give all those idiots that chant "GSP" all night long, a brain aneurysm [IMG]
Silva could become a mass murderer that night by giving a whole bunch of deluded fanboys massive coronary's XD

"Duh, GSP! GSP! 2KG! GSP!" Lmao!

And what the hell was wrong with the people booing Anderson after the Cote fight? That fight was great up until Cote hurt himself. I think Cote should've been had a rematch with Silva.

I'm glad Daley got the boot too, but does anyone know what he claimed Koscheck said to him???

I read an article on Yahoo sports about the banning of Daley and Dana White (who is basically one of the hugest, dirtiest arseholes in the world IMO) said he didn't like Koscheck at all and that he was a *$%^# (edited out of the article but I'm assuming he said ass or little fuck or something.) and that they did not get along well.

I really want to know what he supposedly said to make the dude mad enough to flush his career down the toilet?

    EDIT:

Rashad is down with Santana from American Me???

"Tony, you talk too much. Things will happen." - Anderson Silva

Coolest trash talk I've ever heard. Seriously.

In other news, Goodridge got pwned by Rizzo last night. I feel bad for Goodridge, hopefully he is not fighting because he needs the money.
