The Anderson Silva fight with Chael Sonnen was one of the most exciting matches I've ever seen, god damn.

That match alone was worth the ppv bill; I ofc was rooting for Silva so it makes it more exciting when your always going to think that he's about to lose for over 20 minutes, I have a lot of respect for Chael Sonnen after watching this match.

Also it was hilarious how desperate Thiago was by giving away 20% of his pay because of 1/2 pound weight lol.

This was me the entire time...
i was like "okay this is not how silva normally fights, is silva letting him do this for entertainments sake wtf IS GOING ON?!?!"
Silva is a fucking BLACK BELT in bjj, black belts in bjj are FREAKING HARD ASS HELL TO GET! I've been doing it for 8months now and I still have a white belt, thats how hardcore the belts are in bjj, it takes a year to get a blue belt, 2-3 more years to get a purple belt ,and after that i have no fucking idea! and honestly, someone up a belt class IS GOING TO RAPE YOU ALWAYS! theres a HUGE difference in skill.

anyway, so entire time I'm thinking WHY AREN'T YOU GOING FOR SUBMISSIONS SILVA WHY?! I saw a bunch of submissions that silva was just not going for it boggled my mind!

Then when I think all hope is lost, after seeing silva getting DOMINATED for four god damn rounds (SILVA HAS ONLY LOST A SINGLE GOD DAMN ROUND IN HIS CAREER BEFORE THIS!), I thought it was over when he got taken down in the last one. Then.. outta no where, when my hope was at its lowest silva wins. It blew my fucking mind, I hugged my friend and shouted in joy.

Then you find out something about ribs, I couldn't hear very well cause I was at hooters watching this cause they show the events for free. What did he say? I think I heard him say he was told not to fight but what was really going on with his ribs?
    and damn that explains ALOT.
Does anyone have more details about his ribs?

man this fight is why i've been saying on here (in this thread) for the longest i think GSP could beat Silva. I think he would beat Silva. I could never imagine Silva stopping GSP's shot, and certainly can't now.

agreed, Third round I went to my friend and said "I guess we know who would win in gsp vs silva now."
But MAYBE it was silva's rib injury who knows, also silva probably recognizes he needs to work on takedown defense and so by the time silva and gsp fight, silva might be able to train away his takedown woes.

Well, i say gsp would win. I suppose i mean i think GSP is better. But it's not like i'd be shocked if he lost. In fact, i'd be less shocked if silva dominated GSP than i was that sonnen dominated Silva.

And say what you want about silva's rib, and he certainly didn't look like Silva we know, but i'm not sure what his rib had to do with his inability to take a punch. Everytime Sonnen touched him silva was ROCKED, and sonnen is NOT known for his power. Actually, why could silva not take a punch at all standing, but could absorb a ton of punishment on the ground and look unphased. some of those ground shots looked as hard or harder than the standing shots.

When you look at the hits that took silva down, alot of them just looked like silva lost balance more than he got hit. I think he probably went for a typical backdash or something, BAM EXTREME PAIN in the middle of the dash from his ribs ended up disorienting him and making him fall.

Theres also a whole "maybe dana white told silva to do this" conspiracy going on. Maybe he was like "this fight better be good" so silva just let sonnen do shit for awhile? I mean in the first round he STRAIGHT UP just stood there and let sonnen hit him twice.
You could sense something was just COMPLETELY off just from the first round and onward. There was something wrong with Silva's will, after every round silva just grabbed the cage and he just looked so sad or something, and the first round he looked like he wasn't trying at all. At first I thought it was something dana white might have said or the trash talking hurt his moral (he seems like a sensitive guy). After the fight I thought maybe it was just the massive amount of pain he was feeling in his ribs (apparently broken ribs are as painful as u can get or something).

    Great card tonight!

And for all the people saying gsp would dominate A.Silva based on this fight.

By using your logic I could say A.Silva would DESTROY gsp based on his first fight with serra.

That was not a legit tap. Period. 3 TAPS are needed, not one then a thought. He should of let silva break that arm

omg you totally called it. sonnen said he'd come swinging and you totally called it.

sad to see Sonnen lose at the end. so sad.

I agree about the tap but whatev.

Man, I was happy to see Roy Nelson lose but that guy must have rocks in his head - I'm not sure how he remained standing.

I would have preferred Matt win solely for his submission of the night.

I can not WAIT for Velasquez vs. Lesnar. Now that I've seen Brock take a Shane Carwin cinder block to the face and keep fighting, I think Cain has his work cut out for him.

For anyone who didn't see that bag work - I thought the SOUNDS ALONE were scary enough. Think Akira shotgun effects in real life.

    You're an idiot!
Fedor tapped once to Wedrum and he admitted his defeat and tapping, unlike the liar Sonnen. Chael always taps quickly to any submissions then denies losing afterwords. The Paulo Fihlo fight is a great example. He shoulda just been a man and not tapped after all that diarrhea he spewed for months.

Check his record, Chael has no submission defense, and loses via tapping ALOT!!

I said GSP would beat him. Said it before this fight. Not based on this fight.
