Canada’s largest doctors group wants the Federal Government to tap out on mixed martial arts.

The Canadian Medical Association has overwhelmingly approved a resolution for the organization to campaign for a ban of “mixed martial arts prizefighting matches in Canada.”

The group says the sport is dangerous because of the risk of potentially lifelong injuries to fighters.

Ontario recently announced MMA fighting will be legalized in Ontario starting in 2011.

The CMA has also been lobbying for almost a decade to try and get boxing prohibited.

I also heard a rumor he only trained like 3 times per week for this fight, and after seeing the fight, it might be true.

also, the boxer vs MMA fight. NOT A SINGLE PUNCH WAS THROWN by the boxer. Thats how quick he lost lol... kinda retarded if you ask me. I heard he signed up cause he was broke and wanted money.

Pretty mediocre night of fights.... maynard/florian was incredibly boring. Maynard is really only good at laying on top of people like a blanket. The Maia fight was entertaining and action packed despite very few strikes being thrown. What is wrong with penn? that was a terrible showing.


Edgar vs maynard is gonna be one incredibly dull eyesore of fight

 

you guys all watched the wrong fights. I watched Lauzon and then turned it off. Joe was awesome. So glad he got the fight bonus.

Joe has no ego about his ears such a good, fast fighter though. Shame his brother is a twat.

I'd really like to see a re-match between Silva and Sonnen. a healthy Silva would make for a much more exciting match. and Hopefully Sonnen wouldn't leave his arms and neck out in the open.

 

That Nate Diaz fight was alright but I wish Nate would clean up his technique a bit. He said he broke his hand but with the way that he throws punches I'm not surprised he doesn't break both his hands every fight.
The kid has a lot of potential but his defense sucks. Blocking punches with his head will only last him so long until brain damage starts to mess with him.

Seriously, both those guys have great potential. If they would just drop the tough guy fronting, apply better head movement/defense and throw crisper, sharper punches they could be so much better.

 

I think Nate did the damn thing. His style, like Nick, relies a lot on volume. If your attacking, its hard to cover.

 

His striking technique is pretty much crap. Seems to work for him pretty good though. 99 percent of the ufc roster does the exact same thing, throw looping, sloppy haymakers at each other, Including guys with "credentials" like marcus davis and Sam Stout.
