you know, just in case you didn't see it - Josh is here.

The Diaz fight: sigh. I *really* wanted to see Diaz get done even if it was by Daly.

Diaz is an amazing addition to what I find entertaining...

    1) "Look! He was openly insulting and taunting to enrage. And he still won!"

    2) "Look! He was openly insulting and taunting to enrage. And he got knocked the fuck out!"

Both = great fun. Dude has skill.

That Diaz vs Daley fight was very interesting.

I seriously don't think that was knock out in the traditional sense. I think Diaz's body-shots took so much out of Daley that he actually collapsed from sheer exhaustion.

I believe he cuts a ton of weight and after Diaz's initial barrage with Daley up against the cage, Daley took a couple of HARD body shots. After that, it was subtle, but he did not look the same.

Daley started to appear more and more flimsy, for lack of a better word. I think he just got so tired that he really couldn't balance him self anymore. He began reacting to some of Diaz's shoves in an exaggerated manner, like he would stumble back into the cage where a fresher fighter easily would've been able to stop his backwards momentum.

He had enough to punch back when he got a shot of adrenalin from being hit, but he looked completely exhausted. His punching speed slowed down dramatically and the fall-off was rapid. In the final exchange, Daley took another wicked body-shot up against the cage, that's where I think he was actually finished. There wasn't really any really solid shots to the head in that final exchange up against the cage, but the body blow landed flush and HARD.

It looked like he was trying to push Diaz away when he fell, but I seriously, seriously think it was because he was just too exhausted to stand anymore so he just fell. If you watch closely (I watched the fight twice in a row, rewinding on DVR) Daley started looking so tired and wobbly, but it wasn't from any real hard-hitting shots to the head, his energy just seemed to be sucked out of him after the solid body blows Diaz landed. Daley got hit in the face a few times when Big John jumped in to stop the fight, which was a good stoppage BTW, but the last knockdown appeared to me to be from complete and total exhaustion.

    EDIT:

Melendez truly looked like the best lightweight in the world. He just crushed that Japanese guy at every level; stand up, in the clinch (that Thai neck clinch was just devastating), and on the ground. Those last two elbows could have two of the hardest elbows I've ever seen anyone land. Melendez looked he could beat anyone else in the world IMO.

That's nice, I like JJ and all but he needs to be careful or he's going to get taken advantage of really bad one day... then again, it's a life lesson that all nice guys have to learn the sooner or later.

I'm sure it won't have as much sex appeal but I would really like to see that.

GSP is one of my heroes. The only way I could love that fighter more is if he had knocked out Koscheck at least once.
Jake is no joke and even though I'm pretty positive that GSP will win... this fight has me nervous. Somebody is going to have their heart broken that night.
